* GenreSavvy / TookALevelInBadass: The third time Tim became the Darkling he proceeded to target Jon (who was in first place) and prevented him from [[spoiler: returning Princess Penny to the castle with the added bonus of getting the princess.]] He then kept killing Jon every time he was revived. After performing Global Domination to take over everyone's towns and he was not the Darkling anymore he performed a simple but effective strategy to get lots of towns; [[spoiler: he bought lots of spinners from the nearest item shop and used those to cover as much ground as possible and used his last spinner to buy even more spinners to repeat the process, giving him an easy lead.]] It was so good Chugga copied it.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: Emile manages to get the Blue Jinjo in Treasure Trove Cove (a Jinjo widely regarded as a very difficult one to get) without breaking a sweat ''and'' without even knowing Snacker was on his tail.

* SomethingCompletelyDifferent: Noted by Jon, stating that they've been doing multiplayer games, a good chunk of them being Nintendo-based. The guys decided to experiment and go the complete opposite; a single-player Sega game.
** Also due to how Chugga has cut the episodes, Jon taking control has so far had an episode of him screwing around instead of actually advancing through the game.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: Emile manages to get the Blue Jinjo in Jolly Roger Bay (a Jinjo widely regarded as a very difficult one to get) without breaking a sweat ''and'' without even knowing Snacker was on his tail.

* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Jon's reaction to Chugga's quip that the game was made by "one-third of The Police" (i.e. Sting) in the first episode of the Story Mode.

* CrossPlayer: Tom primarily uses Barbara (and her various PaletteSwaps) in this LP.

* FanNickname: [[invoked]]They refer to the Cardinal animal companion as '[[VideoGame/AngryBirds the Angry Bird]]'.

* FanNickname: In-universe, E-102 Gamma is almost always referred to as "Humpbot" by the Guys because his idle animation makes it look like he's humping the floor or other characters.

* {{Mondegreen}}: Chugga confesses that when he was younger he thought the ''VideoGame/PanzerDragoon'' series was called "Pants Of Dragoon."

* BreakoutCharacter: The Old Man Mannequin which Sonic can pick up and carry around. At first Jon, and later the other two as well, become obsessed with trying to bring it into parts of the game it was never meant to be in and make it appear in cutscenes.

** Tim can be heard in the background pronouncing Big's name as "baij" at the same time.

* InsistentTerminology: Chugga maintains that Jon is 'ten levels higher' than everyone else, despite Jon pointing out that this is "[[ItIsPronouncedTropay hyper-bowl]]".

* ItIsPronouncedTropay: In Episode 5, Jon mispronounces hyperbole as "hyper-bowl" (as Chugga points out).

* WrongNameOutburst: Jake accidentally refers to Jon as [[LetsPlay/JoshJepson Josh]] in Episode 8.

* TVTropesWillRuinYourLife: Jon warns the audience that they'll be stuck on Wiki/ThisVeryWiki for hours. Chugga mentions that one night he had to get up early in the morning to edit a video because he spent too much time on here the night before when he should've been editing.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Episode 9 is titled 'Clustertrucks'. It is accurate in all meanings of the phrase.

* AuthorCatchphrase: In episode 10, with them all using AntiquatedLinguistics, Chugga likes using the words 'orthodox' and 'barbaric' a lot. Jon calls him out at one point for using 'orthodox' in a context where it doesn't really make sense.

** In episode 9, Jon thinks attempts at Japanese accents by Chugga and Lucah respectively sound more like WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo and Kyle's mum from ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark''.
* {{Bookends}}: The first episode ends with Jon enlarging a King of Hearts card, yelling "AND THE KING OF ALL CAAAAAAAAARDS!" while doing so. The finale begins with the guys discussing the King of All Cards as though he is a wanted criminal, and Jon enlarges the card again.

* CrossPlayer: Tim as "Victorian Lady Gaga". Leads to ViewerGenderConfusion in episode 4 with Chugga accidentally referring to Tim as 'she'.

* GoshDangItToHeck: In episode 9, NCS falls into some poisonous gas and lets out a small "fuck!". He quickly corrects himself, leading to Jon and Chugga to make their own family-friendly swears.

* HurricaneOfPuns: About Chugga's Moustachioed Shark avatar in episode 2, including VideoGame/SewerShark, JumpingTheShark, and Film/{{Sharktopus}}.
* InsaneTrollLogic: In episode 6, Jon invokes it to try and explain the strangely unrelated pictures used to illustrate the Rolling Run level. "It's medium difficulty because her hair is black... [[BlackEyesOfEvil just like her eyes]]".

* JapaneseRanguage: In episode 9.

* NeverHeardThatOneBefore: Jon's reaction in episode 4 when Lucah puts on a CanadaEh accent.
** And again in episode 6 when she references "[[NeverLiveItDown MOVE FASTER, POKEY!]]"

* OverlyLongGag: In episode 10, they carry out the TakeThatAudience below for an entire half hour.
** In the final episode, TheStinger: [[spoiler:"YEAH COFFEE! YEAH COFFEE! YEAH COFFEE!" Which has ''its own stinger'' where Jon reverses it: "Less coffee... less coffee... less coffee..."]]

* RunningGag: At the start of nearly every episode, Jon had added some ridiculous accessory to his costume (like tentacles or springy hands). Often he's put them on Lucahjin too.
** An unintentional one is that almost every episode starts with a disclaimer about how something or other has gone wrong with technical aspects of the recording. Eventually they start to lampshade this.

** Jon's habit of sticking hipster glasses on things getting [[RefugeInAudacity bigger and more audacious]] with every episode.

* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: In episode 4, Jon puts a bow on Lucah's head instead of on her neck, so she's not "wearing it like a boy." This is the only visual clue that Lucah's a girl, since it's Tim who's playing [[CrossPlayer Victorian Lady Gaga]].

* UngratefulBastard: A ''very'' minor example; at the start of episode 5, Chugga announces that he got Tim, Jon, and Lucah gifts since he hasn't seen them in a while. Tim and Lucah are surprised and curious, but in the background, you can hear Jon sigh in annoyance. Possibly [[JustifiedTrope justified]], given how the last two times Chugga did this, he got [[CallBack Poison Mushrooms]].

* BigNo: Done by everyone in episode 9 as they fail to escape the alien ship in time.
* BrickJoke: In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voytf8GjVi4&t=337s a BreakingNCS Vlog]], Jon bought a toy gun. [[spoiler:He opens fire on Chugga in the last episode.]]

** In episode 4, Jake also references "credit where props is due", a joke from his co-op of ''VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountryReturns'' with Josh.

* CurbStompBattle: Jon to the other Guys in episode 5.

** He abandons this after it backfires on him in episode 5.

* HypocriticalHumour: In episode 6, Chugga unexpectedly brings up [[NeverLiveItDown Steve the Trooper]], but then adds that he refuses to let anybody else make reference to him.
* InsaneTrollLogic: In episode 9 Chugga claims the nurse who gives you information on animal orbs is hot for Jon 'because she's wearing glasses'.

** In episode 9, Chugga insists that the animals they ride are "[[{{Portmanteau}} Camellamas]]".
* ItIsPronouncedTropay: In episode 5, Jon mispronounces hyperbole as "hyper-bowl" (as Chugga points out).
* JokeExhaustion: Done in episode 4 with 'bee' references as soon as they enter the Flower Fields level and start fighting bees.
** Then done again in episode 10 with a corn-related HurricaneOfPuns when they fight a corn-themed boss.

* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Tim in episode 9 does an accent that oscillates between TheAhnold, Scottish, and VampireVords.
* StoneWall: Due to the way NCS put the majority of his stats into defense, he becomes one of these, with over 700 Hp!!!
* TheSocialDarwinist: Jake accuses Chugga of being one in episode 9 after he says the aliens deserve to die because they're weak.
* ThatCameOutWrong: Chugga saying "necrophilia is appropriate" in episode 6.
* ThatOnePlayer: The others accuse Jon of being this in episode 3.

* WhyWontYouDie: Jon has a moment when fighting NCS in episode 11. Due to NCS's high defense (and accidental potion usage), he spent a while before he fell.

* WrongNameOutburst: Jake accidentally refers to Jon as [[LetsPlay/JoshJepson Josh]] in episode 8.

** In the first episode of Story Mode, Jon briefly considers using the player name "Protonathan Jonathan", a reference to an old joke on his now defunct website.

* CaptainObvious: Jon in episode 1 of the Battle Royale.

* CrossesTheLineTwice: In episode 73, Chugga was blinded by a random enemy, causing a lot of his attacks to miss and putting him in danger of dying (after already dying once in the episode). The next turn, instead of attacking, the enemy tries to blind Chugga ''again'', leading to this exchange:

* EarthAllAlong: Parodied at the end of the Battle Royale episode 3 when the world map comes up and Chugga notices it looks like a real map of Earth:

* LongRunner: By far the single-most infamous game they have ever done solely due to its sheer length, spanning a grand total of ''144 episodes'' and a real-time length of ''over four years.''
* MathematiciansAnswer: At the end of episode 5 of the Battle Royale, NCS gives up in a hopeless battle and drops a Squall item...

*** Which goes even further than that when [[spoiler: Tim kills him in episode four, and changes his hairstyle to poo, which Chugga says makes him look like a red Pikmin]].

* TemptingFate: In episode 2 of the Battle Royale, Chugga lands on a red chest space which starts a roulette that will either give him a very useful item or something that will hinder him; he states that the roulette will land on the space that robs him of money, [[spoiler:but averted when the roulette gives him a new magic spell]].
** [[spoiler:Played straight]] in the Battle Royale episode 5, when Jon takes on an enemy slightly higher leveled than he is; he uses a strike with everyone certain that he'll handle his foe before Jon makes an offhand comment about his move missing. [[spoiler:It does]].
** And then in the final Battle Royale episode, [[spoiler: Chugga gets Mitch Digger, who will increase the value of all the towns he owns on a roll of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. The others note that if he gets this, he wins the game. Of course, Chugga just had to say "watch me actually lose"... then he rolls a 1, indeed costing him the game.]]

* FiveSecondForeshadowing: Lampshaded in episode 9.

* DevelopersForesight: In episode 8, Chugga shows off what happens after he stuck a brass fist on a guy's hand doing a heavy metal gesture. The game then censors the giant hand that is meant to match his gesture.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Jon's reaction when he sticks a giant sun on [=NCS=]'s character at the start of episode 19, only for Tim to comment that he's "[=NintendoCapri=]''Sun''", much to Chugga's delight.

** Episode three, which consists almost entirely of Jon playing with a mannequin.
** Episode seven has him forgoing the next segment of the game in favor of messing with the Chao Garden.

* FunnyAfro: Jon gets one, and even after he changes classes to [[DanceBattler Acrobat]], he keeps it. He drops it after becoming an Alchemist in favor of wearing a duck on his head. However, as of Story Mode Episode 96, he has the afro again after becoming a Robo Knight.
