* NoYou: Lapis called a clod by Peridot responds "So ''I'm'' a clod? I think ''you're'' the clod."

* FantasticCasteSystem: Subtle, but when Peridot and Lapis argue over who has what role, they both view being "the Pearl" as an insult.

* TookALevelInBadass: Peridot has apparently been mastering her ferrokinesis quite a lot offscreen. It was incredibly hard for her to move a metal spike out of the Beta Kindergarten's wall, and it took a burst of adrenaline to throw it towards Jasper hard enough to poof her. Now? She's capable of lifting ''entire cars'' high off the ground and can keep them up while not even focusing on them.And it doesn't stop there, as she and Lapis get into a sort of tug-o-war with a car using their powers, with lapis using one of her signature water-arms.The same type of water arms Lapis has used to drag Malachite into the ocean, casually smack down the Ruby squad's spaceship with enough power to burry it into solid dirt, and punch Jasper so hard she went flying off into the horizon.Peridot's ferrokinesis is now strong enough to ''rival Lapis's hydrokinesis''.

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Peridot approves of Pumpkin (as Pearl) eating a bucket of soap because "Pearl likes soap", not realizing that while Pearl may like cleanliness, she doesn't like ''eating'' soap.

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Pumpkin shows that she is strong enough to assist with helping Connie assist with buffing a huge van within minutes.

* GoneHorriblyRight: The beta Crystal Gems decide to assist at the car wash for their mission, since without Greg no one else can run it. Peridot and Lapis show that they can wash a car in minutes while Connie and Pumpkin buff it. Impressed, Buck then tells all his friends so that they come to It's A Wash, so that a honking line and HilarityEnsues.

* IResembleThatRemark: When Lapis sarcastically suggests that Peridot be Pearl. An offended Peridot remarks that she is nothing like Pearl since the latter is "uptight and sensitive", all while Peridot looks close to breaking down in tears.

* PetTheDog: After Connie's speech, she's given the ''first'' compliment from Lapis, "You make a good Steven!" ...Though it backfires a little bit since Connie's whole speech was about how they're ''not'' the Crystal Gems and shouldn't continue pretending to be them.

* EveryoneHasStandards: For all the arguments with his dad, Buck still gets the mayor van washed when other people vandalize it.

* PetTheDog: After Connie's speech, she's given the ''first'' compliment from Lapis, "You make a good Steven!"
** Though it backfires a little bit since Connie's whole speech was about how they're ''not'' the Crystal Gems and shouldn't continue pretending to be them.

* ADayInTheLimelight: Definitely one for Connie, Lapis, and Peridot.

* KickTheDog: Soon after deciding that she, Peridot, Lapis, and Pumpkin will be the new Crystal Gems, Connie says that she doesn't want to let Steven down. Lapis and Peridot tell her that she will.

* MundaneUtility: Perdiot and Lapis use their powers to wash cars.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The group's insistence on acting like the real Crystal Gems result in "It's a Wash" suffering damage, and necessitating a sign replacement. Luckily, Greg likes it.

* OpeningShoutOut: When heading out to complete their first mission, Connie, Peridot, Lapis, and Pumpkin do the "running" across the beach that the Crystal Gems do in the first opening, complete with Connie (as Steven) running ahead of the others and leaping through the air.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Invoked; the group decides to deliberately take on the role and appearance of the Crystal Gems, with Connie wearing Steven's shirt and jeans, Lapis mussing up her hair to emulate Amethyst, Peridot wearing CoolShades to mimic Garnet, and Veggie Head getting a party hat on her face to emulate Pearl.

* ButForMeItWasTuesday: When Connie notes that Lapis almost drowned her when Lapis says she doesn't remember her, the Gem replies that she's almost drowned a lot of people.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The group's insistence on acting like the real Crystal Gems result in "It's A Wash" suffering damage, and necessitating a sign replacement. Luckily Greg likes it.

** While Steven has usually dealt with the Gems' and their problems with one another, Connie hasn't. So when Lapis and Peridot get into a petty argument, Connie's patience finally runs out.

* WomanChild: Connie eventually gets fed up with Lapis and Peridot's arguing and says she doesn't understand how Steven is able to be the adult for a bunch of superpowered "children". Lapis points out that she and Peridot are thousands of years older then Connie, and Connie just tells her to "act like it."

* BrutalHonesty:
** Soon after deciding that she, Peridot, Lapis, and Pumpkin will be the new Crystal Gems, Connie says that she doesn't want to let Steven down. Lapis and Peridot tell her that she will.
** Connie points out that for being several thousand years old, Lapis and Peridot are acting like children.

* CallBack: Peridot references the time she spent in Steven's bathroom, calling it "her old room", and when Connie bursts in, she's apparently demonstrating her failed attempt to flush herself down the toilet.

** Peridot intimidates Garnet doing a thumps up.
