Running gags are not episode-specific by definition. Summon Magic isn't limited to just one episode. Usually, this sort of thing might be troped in the first episode it's introduced in, but not thereafter because it's not episode-specific, it's part of their ability set. You Cant Go Home Again was the wrong trope because she did go home again. I've moved it to Stranger In A Familiar Land.

* RubberMan: When she catches up to the heroes, Salem extends her arms to catch a fleeing Emerald by the shoulders.
* RunningGag: Once again Jinn is summoned and no one has a question for her. To her credit she seems more amused than annoyed.
* StalkerShot: Emerald, Hazel and Oscar leave the Relic in the chamber it's being held in, and Hazel states he'll go back for it. Once they exit, Neo reveals herself and approaches the Relic.
* StepfordSmiler: Yang is confirmed to have a touch of this by [[TheEmpath Ren]], who tells her she doesn't need to cover up all her fears with jokes. She simply smiles and notes that she's relieved to not be the only one scared.
* SummonMagic: Salem uses the same shadow hands she used against Hazel in Volume 6 to restrain the heroes. Later, when Hazel has her in a chokehold and is burning her alive, she uses the hands to attempt to pry him off.
* SuperStrength: While it was shown before, Salem's battle with the heroes and Hazel shows that she is far stronger than her lithe physique suggests, casually tossing them about like ragdolls. At one point, she grabs Hazel by the back of his head and repeatedly slams his face into the ground.
* TearsOfFear: As Salem prepares to torture her, Emerald starts to cry, clearly scared out of her mind.
* TookALevelInBadass: Emerald is now strong enough to affect multiple people with her Semblance, including ''Salem'', without getting a headache. Oscar is also able to blast Hazel and Salem with a gigantic magical laser.
* UnskilledButStrong: As her battle with Hazel shows, Salem has no hand-to-hand combat skills and relies exclusively on her magic to fight. But her inhuman strength, speed, and her immortality allowing her to regenerate from any form of damage more than makes up for it.
* WhatTheHellHero: Marrow tears into Winter over her going forward with dropping the bomb, despite Jaune, Ren, Yang and Oscar still being inside the whale, asking what she'd do if Weiss were inside and if Winter is willing to tell her what she did to her friends.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: Oscar and Ozpin talk a bit about a fairy tale where a girl falls through Remnant and into a different world and eventually comes back, but feels lonely and sad because she isn't the same girl anymore. Oscar mentions that he used to be confused by the ending, but now understands how she must have felt.
* YouKilledMyMother: As part of her rant against Salem, Yang brings up how Salem took Summer from her.

* UnskilledButStrong: The fight with Hazel reveals that Salem doesn't appear to have any combat skills. She's relies on her Grimm abilities and magic to fight while relying on her regeneration to compensate for the attacks she can't stop striking her. However, she has so many abilities, along with inhuman speed, strength and immortality, she can do

Her behaviour's pretty in sync with what we expect. It's Ozma that triggers the unusual behaviour in her, but we started seeing that in Volume 6 and the trigger is consistent, so it's not episode-specific.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Throughout the series, Salem has almost always kept her emotions in check, never taking anything too personally and bouncing back quickly even when she's angered. When she realizes that the Lamp might be compromised, she's genuinely afraid. Learning that Emerald deceived her and (supposedly) took the Lamp pushes her into genuinely losing control for the first time, fixating on torturing Emerald and missing that Emerald clearly doesn't know where the Lamp is.
