* ArtisticLicenseNuclearPhysics: ''One'' thermal nuclear bomb is enough to destroy the whole Earth. In fairness, this was also the case in the film being referenced, ''Film/BeneathThePlanetOfTheApes''.[[note]](In that film it was explained that the bomb had a cobalt casing, and therefore when detonated it would ignite the atmosphere and instantly incinerate the planet. In reality, the explosive properties of such a bomb would be no different to any other nuclear weapon; the difference would be that the fallout would render the nearby area uninhabitable for decades, instead of just a few weeks to a few months)[[/note]]
