At this point, the main ponies besides Rainbow Dash realize certain similarities in their stories, and come to the conclusion that the Sonic Rainboom that led to all of their cutie marks was thanks to her. While Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are heartwarmed by the stories and the love the main cast show each other, Scootaloo remains unimpressed until she too is dragged into a hug with her friends. Twilight's letter to Celestia says that she learned that you may not be as alone in this world as it feels, and that your future friends may be closer than you think.

* NecessarilyEvil: Deconstructed. The bullies have no idea that their bullying is ultimately responsible for the bond between the Mane Six from getting their cutie marks at the same time, but it is still essential to this end.

** The other involves the Crusaders suffering the fallout of their ziplining excursion.

** Applejack in Manehattan comments she's so hungry she "could eat a--". Unfortunate Implications anyone?

** At the start of the race, an earth pony can be seen watching the race on a cloud - Rainbow says only pegasi can walk on clouds.

** Ponies do in fact pull carriages and carts for a living. It's probably exactly the same thing as being a cab or bus driver. This was shown in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E21OverABarrel previous episode]] and future episodes.

'''Rarity:''' While the young unicorn was trying to perfect costumes for a school play, her horn's magic activated and began pulling in the direction of some mysterious source (dragging the rest of Rarity along with it). When it finally came to rest, she found herself standing in front of a huge rock in the middle of nowhere. She found this destiny underwhelming to say the least, until a nearby explosion broke it open and revealed that it was full of colorful gemstones. Inspired, she incorporated the gems into her costumes, wowing the crowd and earning Rarity her cutie mark.

* BecauseDestinySaysSo: Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom not only helped her get her cutie mark, but was also responsible for helping all the other mane ponies gain theirs.

* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Fluttershy's voice actress slips into her Pinkie Pie voice a little bit when singing the "I love everything" song.

* SkewedPriorities: While this is nothing new with the Crusaders, the fallout of their zipline attempt, in which they could have had a few broken bones, takes it to a crazy extreme:

The Cutie Mark Crusaders go zip lining in another attempt to get their cutie marks (which ends with the fillies in freefall after their zipline snaps) and end up covered in tree sap ''[[OhNoNotAgain again]]''. [[NoodleIncident It happens a lot.]] Apple Bloom decides it's time to go see somepony else for cutie mark advice, and Scootaloo has just the pony in mind:
