* An enraged Kiba unlocks the [[SuperMode Balance Breaker]] form of his Sacred Gear [[SpontaneousWeaponCreation "Sword Birth"]], and performs the impossible act of [[YinYangBomb creating a holy sword out of demonic energy]]. This confirms some of the older characters' suspicions that both {{God}} and {{Satan}} are long dead, and the laws of reality are no longer operating as intended. In fact, Sacred Gears (originally created as a way for God to empower human champions) were never intended to be {{Evolving Weapon}}s at all, and the ability of some of them to kill gods is likewise a relatively new development.

Tweaked wording.

* BrokenPedestal: The Church eventually becomes this to Xenovia when she learned that God died.
* CallBack: When Xenovia meets Asia in Volume 3, she calls Asia a "witch", which is what the Church referred to Asia as way back in [[Recap/HighschoolDxDVolume1 Volume 1]]. Ironically, Xenovia herself becomes a heretic towards the end of the volume.

* RealityEnsues:
** When Xenovia attempts to kill Asia and Kiba, she has valid reasons in doing so. Asia was a former member of the Church who healed a devil, a species which the Church is strongly opposed to. Later, Kiba leaves the Occult Research Club to become a stray devil, which means that other devils or exorcists are willing to kill him immediately.
** Xenovia is exiled as a heretic from the Church because learning the AwfulTruth that GodIsDead goes against the Church's teachings.

* KickTheDog: Xenovia and Irina taunt Asia right in front of Issei, which understandably ''inflames'' his anger with them.

Kick The Dog is for when an evil person does something evil for no apparent gain. Xenovia tries to assert her dominance over the Devils by making an example of Asia and Kiba. She had a lot to gain from her action.
