** According to WordOfGod, Glomgold made his first couple of million with a single theft, and when we see him actually doing business he invariably leaves all the details to his employees (specifically [[HyperCompetentSidekick Owlson]]) so he can concentrate on his schemes. The one kind of education a businessperson ''cannot'' afford to skimp on? Contract law.

* BatmanGambit: [[GuileHero Louie]] pulls off a HELL of a one. Using their mutual hatred of Scrooge, he convinces the villains to pool their resources to back Glomgold so he wins the bet in exchange for the villains sparing the Duck-McDuck family. He then convinces Glomgold to sign him on as his partner, knowing that Glomgold would never 1) use his [[UnfortunateName real embarrassing name of Duke Baloney]] for anything, or 2) read the fine print on the contract detailing that Louie would get his shares should he use an alias. For good measure, Louie even uses his '''own''' EmbarrassingFirstName on both points that matter, therefore making '''himself''' the richest duck in the world once he pulls this off, therefore stripping his foes AND his great uncle of all their wealth.

Read the trope description. Ma Beagle has no reason to be nice to Glomgold or to coddle him, so there's no expectation she would tell a comforting lie. Telling the truth rudely is not Brutal Honesty; the trope refers to telling blunt truth when a lie would be expected.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: The LegionOfDoom finds out that Glomgold didn't have an actual plan for destroying Scrooge and his family. His lack of planning is so bad that they attack the manor when almost everyone is away.

* BrutalHonesty: When Glomgold goes to he and tries to make nice, Ma Beagle simply remarks that everyone knows he's about to lose the bet and has no one to blame but himself.

* EvilerThanThou: Glomgold is extremely irritated that Magica is considered the more impressive villain and ringleader of the gang. His insistence that he's the boss and that she lost most of her power falls on deaf ears.

* {{Foil}}: With time running out on the bet he himself proposed, Glomgold once again falls back on poorly thought out scheming that didn't get him anywhere, only with more desperation than ever before. Meanwhile, Scrooge goes on a relaxing adventure to accumulate even more wealth to pad his count; in essence, he calmly and consistently puts in the work to win, even when everyone considers it a sure thing.

* GoodCannotComprehendEvil: Averted. Having seen all the angles, Louie is able to get all the non-Glomgold villains onboard with his gambit by pointing out how Scrooge would become virtually untouchable were he to add Glomgold's wealth and possessions to his own. As Louie anticipates, the other villains openly dread how such a scenario would make their own attempts at revenge practically impossible to achieve.

* SmartBall: When the villains start turning on him at the mansion, Glomgold is able to spin a rather dignified, manipulative speech about the importance of family and coming together. Almost every villain there is moved to tears.
* SpannerInTheWorks: One Louie's escape plans was to dress up as Huey and claim to be wrongfully trapped. Just as he attempts this, the real Huey calls to check up on him.

* WomenAreWiser: Ma Beagle is the only featured villain to consistently point out Glomgold's flaws and lack of planning, as well as provide better (or, most of the time, actual) solutions.

* YankTheDogsChain: As if being grounded wasn't enough, Louie misses out on a fun, easy adventure at Big Rock Candy Mountain. Every time they call him just shows Louie all the fun he's missing.
