When Nightmare was sealed it led to nobody being able to dream period, so perhaps he understands the predicament that Dream experienced. Besides, it would be stupid for someone like him to oppose an Endless, much less one of his domain.
* While Dream doesn't care much for Nightmare, the more active and benevolent dream deities want to contain and stop him from causing havoc. Perhaps even more than Kirby or Dedede, Nightmare sees [=NiGHTS=] as his mortal enemy. He is a foe of Ysera as well since he wishes to subvert her dream weaving to help better spread his nightmares.
* Those who work to spread nightmares are friends to be of Nightmare. While he's not as murderous as Freddy Krueger (game only, [[AdaptationalVillainy anime Nightmare doesn't care]]), his mastery of the dream world makes him a very valuable asset for the literal nightmare and better on his side than against. Pitch Black wanted in on the spreading of nightmares with Nightmare, and Wizeman was eager for an ally in his crusade against pleasant dreams.
* Nightmare tried to get into Darkrai's good graces, seeing a creature similar to himself that can help spread nightmares. Dakrai immediately rebuked him as the Mythical doesn't want to spread bad dreams, it just can't help it due to its defense mechanism. ** As dawn broke, many gods clamored to know what was going on in the House of Dreams for far too many of the Pantheon's youth have been subjected to nightmares in just a single night. Freddy Krueger, Nightmare (Kirby), and Atropos were immediately pressed and questioned, though investigators were left at a dead end. When the more golden hearted members of the House were involved, it didn't take them long to find their culprit for they approached them: An old woman in long robes holding a staff, snakes resting on her shoulders. In one moment she only but remarked on the many more visitors she'll get and be acquainted with. In another, she was already done evicting them from her very presence after allowing them. They were only given a name, and that name was enough: [[OhCrap Vaermina]].

* The House of Dreams rattled to its very core when this Daedric Prince came to the scene for a being second only to Dream of the Endless' power had made herself known. To the benevolent gods whom had seen Vaermina before she made herself known, she is universally disliked. [=NiGHTS=] and Haruto Tsukishiro are not at all fond of the fact Vaermina has all the leeway in the world to torment people through the dreams, SCP-990 sees the Prince as a detriment to his role in foreshadowing events, Ysera dreads the sheer influence the Weaver of the Panoply has, and the ''Inception'' crew actively go out of there way to avoid Vaermina when she's involved. Inversely, beings such as Freddy Krueger, Atropos, and Nightmare welcomed her. Now this isn't to say all of them are ignorant of her [[BlueAndOrangeMorality morality]] or the fact she can grant pleasant dreams to her favored followers (and woe to you if you mess with her favored) but since her [[JerkassGods "demonic" reputation]] precedes her the relationships remain as thus.

* As far as the other nightmare-bringers in the Pantheon are concerned, Wizeman views them as soldiers that interfere with enemies while the higher-ups are hard at work spreading their influence. When the likes of Freddy Krueger, Atropos, Pitch Black, and Nightmare revealed themselves to Wizeman, he opted to join their cause in spreading nightmares across the Pantheon. From what he has seen of their efforts, he finds them effective in terrorizing dreams when his Nightmaren aren’t enough to do the job. He was even willing to let those particular deities live in Nightmare as a base of operations to plan out any future attacks across the Pantheonic dreamscape.
