One night, while looking for pictures of succubi, I happened upon this strange-sounding link that involved the word "bernadinism", after its maker Alva Bernadine. I took a look inside, and found the pictures all right. But the succubi depicted were [[BodyHorror horrible]] [[EldritchAbomination Lovecraftian monsters]] (as opposed to [[EvilIsSexy the more traditional depiction of them as beautiful women]]). Unfortunately, not even the soothing music of Laura Turner helped. But don't worry, this story does have a HappyEnding: I found a cure in playing ''FinalFantasyX''. But to this day, I still wonder [[WhatWereYouThinking what the people at Elle Magazine were thinking when they hired Bernadine]] (he once worked there as a photographer).

** YMMV on the soundtrack dissonance. At the very least anyone who's seen ElfenLied will associate that song with HONF and TearJerkers.
* Many Shmorky animations on SomethingAwful are LOADED with this kind of stuff. One of his animations is a series of AVGN parodies called "Furious Famicom Faggot". The series progresses with the titular character becoming more and more insane, having bizzare hallucinations and freaking out until finally, in the last episode he dies of a brain tumor.

While the poop itself is funny, the reason for it being scary is because it ties in with the FridgeHorror that is Bubble Buddy from the [[SpongebobSquarepants show itself]]. * A rather unknown video reviewer named Jacob Rudduck once did a review of {{Uninvited}}. First reaction with the SouthernBelle was slightly funny. After Jacob was finished with the review, he went to the toilet and he saw THAT SouthernBelle (and instead of a skull face, she has Joker's face) (though it's obviously someone else). Then the camera proceeds to 'show' how Jacob gets the nasty end against that Ghost Lady, complete with her psycho ripping, her face closeups and her hysterical laugh. Brrr...!]]

*** The third sequel or the YouTube Live edition. Between a door that can see into your soul, the "scariest thing ever" at the very beginning, prehensile tongues, legs bending in directions they were not meant to bend, and continued mutilation of Charlie, the third one borders on NightmareFuel. The portrayal of RickAstley with tentacles, scary eyes, and snake mouth in the YouTube Live version only makes this troper suspect the entire point of the Charlie franchise is to poke fun at Nightmare Fuel.

** For your information, those things in the demon's eyes weren't spikes, they were BIRD BEAKS, and he was the final "sleeper" (the old man's term for the demons, due to their hibernation) that Clara (the old man's daughter) had to seal within the Camera Obscura (which works similarly to the camera in {{Fatal Frame}}), after she sealed the five other demons in previous episodes. There were 6 demons in all. (1) Splinter: The Devourer of Healers, (2) Magoria: The Consumer of The Sickened Mind, (3) The Bag: Killer of Heroes, (4) Mister Hurt: Hunter of Children, (5) Mother: Murderer of Those Who Comfort, and (6) The Bad Place: That Which Eats The Lost. Each fed on different facets of human misery, and all were FUCKING TERRIFYING!

* In RedVsBlue: Reconstruction, as the Meta is about to assimilate Delta, the other AIs it's abducted appear and welcome him. Especially creepy is the sing-songy, child-like voice: "Delta! We missed you, Delta! Dellllltaaaaa!!!!!" That was the point when this troper knew, for sure, that [[CerebusSyndrome the Red Vs. Blue transition from comedy to drama]] was absolutely going to work. It's legitimately freaky.

* [[EvilOldFolks Harry S. Plinkett]]'s [[RedLetterMedia reviews]]. It starts out like any other armchair/nerd youtube review, but every so often we are...'treated' to a glimpse into the life of Mr.Plinkett, a centenarian serial killer who has killed his three wives, at least a dozen hookers and an entire Korean family. His methods are...unorthodox to say the least as they have involved such things as wells, cars, razors, [[NoodleImplements Raid, cockroaches, and a rusty old refrigerator.]] Huh. Made worse by the fact that he seems to mention such atrocities in passing while he treats the StarWars prequel series as [[ValuesDissonance a sort of cinematic holocaust.]]

** [[MadArtist Sarah Atwell]]'s descent into madness begins with her [[spoiler: tying down and torturing Eve-Walker Luther, then stabbing her to death, bleeding out Miranda Merchant and carving the words 'selfish bitch' onto her chest, and rigging up a [[{{Saw}} Jigsaw-like]] contraption onto Brock Mason involving pointing a sniper rifle at his own head, making sure that if he even moves he dies. They can also act as pseudopenises. That's weird enough, but the protagonist ends up with one, then spends several weeks with her infected cousin and infected botanist aunt, whose greenhouse spawned the parasites in the first place. Infected gradually get better bodies, and have an enhanced libido and very compelling scent. The trio later progress from just incest to actively trying to infect people with these parasites, and the protagonist rapes a random girl in public through use of her tentacle(and [[ItsNotRapeIfYouEnjoyedIt said girl]] [[RapeIsLove likes it]]). And they want to take over the world with it. Well, they're under the influence of the parasite, right? Well, no; the aunt specifically points out that all the parasite does is make them feel good, and [[MoreThanMindControl everything they've been doing has been done of their own free will]]. Which means that either the parasite makes them ''think'' they're still free, or it's basically turned them into sociopaths ''without'' using mind control.

* From the ''Blog/{{Bronyism}}'' and -Trollvorlord blogs, [[TheDragon Hmac]] and the eponymous [[CompleteMonster Trollvorlord]] happen to write bizarre DarkFics as a regular hobby. Most often containing some sort of [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge Roaring Rampage of]] DisproportionateRetribution of the BreadEggsMilkSquick variety which usually employ the use of a PsychopathicManchild protagonist.
