However, that realistic aspect also applies to the core if it overheats. If the core is intentionally left to overheat to the point where it's out of control, it will suffer a nuclear meltdown with consequences. First, all players will get messages on the top bar that it's overheating and that it needs to be cooled, but if it gets hotter, serious music will play, and three players have to active the Emergency Coolant rods. If the rods aren't filled in the correct amounts, sirens play after the failure to cool the core. Ominous music follows (and a track literally named the aforementioned word), announcements will be made saying to evacuate the facility, explosions will be heard, and eventually, the power will go out. When the clock starts ticking, music plays, emphasizing that you have to escape the base before it explodes.[[note]]While there is [[HopeSpot some back-up coolant]], prior to an update, [[AwfulTruth it was never going to be enough to help restore the reactor back into a fully stable state]].[[/note]] Unless you escape by rocket, to go another part of Pinewood, or use the gamepass-exclusive shelter, you'll have to be eaten by the giant red explosions, along with the other unlucky users, the facility, and (according to warning text) ''[[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt the entire world]]''. It's scarier when you enter a server that's about to have a meltdown or has already just had one (at least before it resets), seeing the sudden JumpScare of expecting the base to be operating as normal, only for it to be in a frantic meltdown. ** The December 2018 update now does the same to an [[{{Pun}} opposite degree]]; players can now let the core freeze to the point that a freezedown happens, and a cyan explosion shortly then consumes up the facility. Oh, and [[UnrealisticBlackHole a black hole]] is also formed above the reactor during these events, [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt chomping down all life]].[[note]](Originally, a freezedown happening in the facility [[UrbanLegendOfZelda was just a mere myth]], but this update actually made it possible.)[[/note]].

* Hood games, such as ''[[https://www.roblox.com/games/2788229376/Da-Hood Da Hood]]'' and [[https://www.roblox.com/games/455366377/The-Streets The Streets]] are pretty nightmarish, portraying various criminal-infested areas as orderless places, and players over there have freedom to do whatever they want. ''ANYTHING'', such as kidnapping, murder, gang assaults, etc., meaning that you might think you're safe when suddenly a criminal appears out of nowhere to murder you ForTheEvulz. By far the most nightmarish of these is ''[[https://www.roblox.com/games/4588604953/Criminality-BETA Criminality]]'', which aside from the above, also features [[OffWithHisHead beheading]], [[AnArmAndALeg dismemberment]], and tons of blood. Even a single gunshot is enough to scare the crap out of experienced players because of how dangerous they are in that game. There's a 300 Robux access fee for a good reason.

* Another game that is different than Pinewood, Innovation Inc. Spaceship, still has a meltdown just like Pinewood, and it is somewhat even worse than Pinewood's. There's a chance that if there is a lack of oxygen during a meltdown or freezedown, or the temperature is way higher/lower than the usual meltdown/freezedown temperature, the ship will be destroyed.

* You’ll have no words for the [[HellIsThatNoise horror sound effects]]. They’ll always be scary... ALWAYS!

* For those looking for a challenging horror maze game, ''[[https://web.roblox.com/games/338521019/Identity-Fraud-Revamp Identity Fraud]]'' easily takes the cake. Players are tasked to travel through a series of [[NothingisScarier dark, mysterious labyrinths]] while mainly trying to escape from four shadow monsters, each with their own unique abilities. Non-gamepass members are only given markers to place down and each maze is extremely difficult to navigate without prior experience. [[SarcasmMode Good luck trying to complete the game in its entirety]] because dying sets you all the way back to the first level.

** The infection itself, according to Mrs Gazelle's notes. It controls your limbs and makes you act erratic in an attempt to spread the infection. [[AndIMustScream However, you are fully aware while infected.]]
** Some of the jumpscare sounds are quite horrifying, as would be expected.
*** Of particular note is the one for [[KillerRobot Robby]]. Robby moves and acts in a robotic manner, and looks fully robotic. However, upon getting killed by him, the resulting scream sounds vaguely...human...[[UnwillingRoboticisation Considering some of what Mr. P is willing to do if it achieves his goals, this doesn't have]] [[FridgeHorror good implications]]

* Some custom meshes have their textures glitched up, placing certain textures in the wrong areas and sometimes removing some textures, that's enough to give anyone chills if it seriously mangles with any faces on it to the point where they're barely recognizable. [[https://www.roblox.com/library/430070121/Pikachu This is a good (and horrifying) example]], as poor [[Characters/PokemonGenerationIBulbasaurToTentacruel Pikachu]] demonstrates.%%[[note]]In addition, those of you who've watched ''WebVideo/Chadtronic'' may also see a bit of similarities between it and the corrupted Pikachu with a horrifying glitched "face" (or rather just a black rectangle replacing its eyes and a red square for a mouth, both with lines of static on them) as seen in his cartridge tilting video of ''VideoGame/HeyYouPikachu''.[[/note]]

The same mesh is also featured in [[https://www.roblox.com/games/755776245 the first Restaurant Tycoon]] inside a bucket of plushies, so if a user was playing it and decided to look at them, or if you placed it inside your restaurant and your guests were using them, they might get quite a shock at it (as well as the guests using them [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight as if nothing was horrifyingly wrong]]).
** Another eerily similar case is [[https://www.roblox.com/library/484846416/Buizel-Female-Pokemon this mesh]], in which despite being made by a different user, it features the same CapsLock description saying that you shouldn't look at its face, and for a good reason.

* Sometime in July 2014 the popular games were hacked by God knows who, the point is the kids who played those games were probably scared by some of the stuff on there, such as when joining a game you'd be welcomed by an ear piercingly loud alarm noise, or like another case when you joined a game, the entire place was turned incredibly dark and the music that was orignally in the game was changed into what felt like a distorted version. Not all of it was scary, though.

The Player who struggled for this cryptic egg would have their efforts repaid with an entire server crash shortly after. Not before [[NiceJobBreakingItHero the entire world becomes engulfed in darkness while the land itself slowly petrifies.]]
** It does not help that all players in the server hear [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E9k7rtX41w this]] while the above happens against their will.

It's scarier when you enter a server that was recently destroyed.

** The December 2018 update now does the same if you do the opposite, let the core freeze to the point that a freezedown happens and a black hole is formed, [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt swallowing up all life]].
* The otherwise lighthearted Theme Park Tycoon 2 allows you to [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential kill your own visitors]], by not connecting the tracks in a roller coaster to its station. You can get an achievement for killing 10 visitors at once.

* Some custom meshes have their textures glitched up, placing certain textures in the wrong areas and sometimes removing some textures, that can equate to BodyHorror and is enough to give anyone chills. [[https://www.roblox.com/library/430070121/Pikachu A good (and horrifying) example.]]

* If you decide to position a spawn point extremely far away from the center... well... [[https://i.redd.it/x2so3blalooz.png this happens]].
** Going too high in a game that uses vehicles such as rockets will also cause your game to be corrupted in VERY strange ways, such as your chat bubbles being corrupted, sounds suddenly getting higher-pitched, and your character turning into a gray mass of + symbols.

Keep in mind, this is when the players expect to simply escape the subway station **with her**, making her fate particularly shocking.]]

But in reality, things go horrifying once night falls. In other words, the HorribleCampingTrip is taken to a nightmarish level.
** The first night has the game tell you to say a story to the other campers, when suddenly [[https://i.imgur.com/xSnllwP.png a dark]] HumanoidAbomination with a NightmareFace pops up above the fire, and the game tells you to run.
** The next morning, [[https://i.imgur.com/u3hqgK9.png park rangers are seen setting bear traps near the]] ''carcass of a bloodied deer'', with them informing you to stay away from areas outside the BearTrap to avoid getting hurt.
** The morning after the cave sequence, you and the surviving players return to the camp to see a leg attached to a bear trap with blood spewing out of it, and a trail of blood leading to one of your tents, with the message [[https://i.imgur.com/bb1CvRk.png "I'M STILL ALIVE"]] [[CouldntFindAPen written on the wall]].
** Then there's the ending, where the figure reappears with a missing leg, crawls over to you, and tells you that [[KnightTemplar they were actually trying to protect you from a murderer]]. Cue PsychoStrings as a backpack opens with [[TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse one of the player's name]] on it, rat poison inside, and said player is shown about to knife another player!
** Want some little BackstoryHorror? You can find and read a poster which reveals a family of five who camped at Specky Woods disappeared and four were found murdered. If you throw the Lucky Coin into the well, a cutscene plays showing a boy sitting in the corner of the shack, when suddenly the Monster's face appears on the back of his head, implying the boy was the SoleSurvivor of his murdered family and that [[WasOnceAMan he turned into the Monster]].
* The sequel, [[https://www.roblox.com/games/3199109640/Camping-2 Camping 2]], has its fair share of horror as well:
** Early on in the game, Daniel, the park ranger, shows you around the camp, including the bathrooms. Suddenly the lights flicker, and the bloodied corpses of your fellow campers are briefly shown on screen.
** When Daniel and the campers find a gun, one user is given the option to kill Daniel or not. If they do, you'll see his body laying on the ground. One of the campers even feels unnerved about sleeping next to a dead body.
** The maze section, where if you don't escape on time, a striped figure with a creepy mask kills you with a knife. Thankfully the game allows you to revive for 20 Robux.
** The ending, depending on whether Daniel is killed or not:
*** If Daniel is killed, the striped figure appears at the end of the cave, and the remaining campers realize that [[NeverTheObviousSuspect Daniel was not the murderer]]. The figure is revealed to be Zach Nolan, who immediately runs towards you and kills you offscreen.
*** The ending where Daniel was not killed is lighter in tone, but still disturbing. Daniel reveals that Specky Woods was haunted by Zach, who killed a family of 5. Right as he runs over to kill Daniel and the campers, the dark figure from the first game appears, and reveals himself to be the Son from the family. He [[OffWithHisHead decapitates]] [[KarmicDeath Zach]] (BloodyHorror included), and disappears.
