* ''WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball'' has static, heavily-edited photographs for backgrounds and characters that are animated in 2D, CGI, and one character and her family is a live-action puppet (specifically a live-action actor's upside-down chin). However, the live-action actors only appear on in-universe videos and TV shows, never together with animated people.

* The [=MetLife=] insurance company has a contract that allows them to use the characters from ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}'' for their advertising, allowing them to run commercials like Lucy and Charlie Brown trying to argue with a [=MetLife=] actuary to sell insurance for five cents.

* In ''Film/Ghostbusters2016'', Patty asks Rowan to transform into something small and cute before their final confrontation. Rowan reacts by briefly transforming into the cartoon ghost from the Ghostbusters logo.

* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''

** One segment of "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS5E9RoadToRupert Road to Rupert]]" was nothing but the scene in ''Anchors Aweigh'' (see "Films" above) with Stewie drawn over Jerry.
** In "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS8E4BriansGotABrandNewBag Brian's Got a Brand New Bag]]", Brian mentions to Rita that he had a bit part in ''Film/DieHard''. It then shows actual footage from the movie with an animated Brian inserted into the clip.

** The level of commitment to selling the illusion was so insane in this film it spawned an industry term for going above and beyond: "Bumping the lamp". A hanging lamp gets bumped in one scene because the director thought it would be funny. This leaves the primary light source in the room swinging wildly for an entire scene. The animators absolutely nailed the shadows on Roger in this scene. Every drawing of a character in the movie has five corresponding drawings of shadows. It was all done by hand, they had no computers.

* Those e-surance commercials in which famed pink-haired superspy and [[PerverseSexualLust nerd heartthrob]] Erin Surance "draws" various customers to their auto insurance.

* The video for "Opposites Attract" famously has Music/PaulaAbdul dueting with MC Skat Kat, a cartoon cat. Continued in the video for [[VirtualCelebrity MC Skat Kat's]] single "Scat Strut".

* Several commercials for Creator/CartoonNetwork's old ''Creator/CartoonCartoons'' show have the characters that originated from the block interacting with the real world, such as this intro, entitled [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofvXa_TWrc8&NR=1 "Cartoon Cartoons: Always On The Run."]]

* ''Anime/HimeChenOtogiChikkuIdolLilpri'''s second opening and ending sequences feature the live-action singers with the animated characters whom they represent.

* ''VideoGame/BendyAndTheInkMachine'' features living cartoons (who are fictional in-universe) emerging from the Ink Machine as you explore the abandoned animation studio. In Chapter 1, [[spoiler:Bendy himself]] appears to be out for blood, while you can also find [[spoiler:his old partner/nemesis Boris the Wolf, strapped to a table and vivisected.]] Chapter 2 gives us [[spoiler:Boris alive and well]]. And then there's [[spoiler:Sammy Lawrence, [[BodyHorror who at this point is a hybrid of human and ink-dripping cartoon]].]] Then there's [[spoiler:Alice Angel, made from the body of her first voice actress, Susie Campbell]]. * Zig-zagged like crazy with ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManIntoTheSpiderVerse'', which combines both animation types (traditional and CGI) into a single movie.

* Used in the films of Creator/YoramGross with animated humans and animals interacting with live-action environments.:

* Many of the commercials for the ''Franchise/JakAndDaxter'' trilogy as well as the racing game it later spawned, ''Jak X: Combat Racing'', had the title characters interacting with live-action people.

* The obscure film ''WesternAnimation/Epic1984'', the characters, who were animated, were placed in videos or pictures of real or realistically painted environments to a somewhat bizarre but charming effect.

* Used in the films of Yoram Gross, such as ''WesternAnimation/DotAndTheKangaroo'' and ''WesternAnimation/BlinkyBill: The Mischievous Koala'', with animated humans and animals interacting with live-action environments.
