Eddie would sober up, rekindle talks with original singer Music/DavidLeeRoth, and begin a world tour with Eddie's son Wolfgang replacing Anthony. Wolfgang would even convince his dad that the band could make another album, and ''A Different Kind Of Truth'', Van Halen's first new album in fifteen years and its first with Roth since ''1984'', would be released to commercial and critical success in 2012. Their last tour happened in 2015, and five years later Eddie died.
