This trope is OlderThanTheyThink. At the very least, all of us—gay, straight or otherwise—probably had at a small dollop of it the first time we got TheTalk. "A boy sticks his ''what'' in a girl's ''what''!! That's disgusting! I'm ''never'' gonna do that!" Of course, then puberty hit, and we discovered that there were other, more interesting things that happened too, which made it all worthwhile. But when you get down to it, plain-vanilla sexual intercourse has its own share of {{squick}}. Just about the only thing more unsanitary would be for a boy to stick his whatsit in a ''back-door'' whatsit. (...And yet the HetIsEw crowd runs with that. So maybe these two are unrelated.)

* ''{{Gorillaz}}'' - 2D/Murdoc shippers are usually ''very'' opposed to either of them engaging in a relationship with a female, to the point that Noodle, Paula, Rachel, etc. are oftentimes subject to DieForMyShip. A nice subversion of this is TheFoolOnMelancholyHill, which focuses on 2D/Murdoc, but also has a heterosexual side pairing between a female OC and her male former friend.

* ''MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'' suffers from this, partially because of the resident [[PinkBishoujoGhetto male-to-female population ratio]] but also because everyone's too busy {{Squee}}ing over Nanoha/Fate, Subaru/Teana, and Vivio/Einhart to pay any attention to Erio/Caro, Chrono/Amy, Nanoha/Yuuno (though that one's [[DieForOurShip a whole different kettle of fish]]), or Touma/Lily.

* RealPersonSlash as a group takes its name VERY seriously. Slash fics outnumber het fic by at least 20 to 1 (and that ''includes'' [[GenderBender genderswap]] [[GenderFlip fiction]]).

* In ancient Sparta, hoplite recruits were assigned older mentors, to whom they provided various services. While these included things such as keeping their weapons and armor maintained, they also included more...''personal'' services. Sinec these boys were sent off to a life of military training before puberty, they generally had no experience with women until they married well into adulthood. In order to ease them into the idea of heterosexual relationships, their intended brides would shave their heads, wear men's clothing, and meet with their future husbands at night over a period before the wedding.
