They are zombies that previously thought dead reanimated a second time, now capable of sprinting after the player with claws, neon white eyes, and most importantly, blood soaked heads.

A battle, be it for [[DuelToTheDeath honor]], [[CurbStompBattle a one-]][[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown sided fight]], for [[ExtremeMeleeRevenge getting even]], or just plain killing people, can be a very messy affair. Fortunately, the attacker doesn't seem to mind and will eventually walk around covered in blood as if it's no big deal. He is covered in walker blood after slaying around a dozen of them to get to The Marsh House, where Clementine is being held captive. If the magus wishes, they make their victim explode in a gory mess as the magus pops out the other side.
