Given the [[OurDemonsAreDifferent many types of demons and devils in mythology and fiction in both from the east and the west]], the only world over]], few examples for subversion can be counted as aversions to this tropes should be examples in which or subversions. To qualify as such, there are clearly must be clear expectations for the a demonic character to look like this, such as this; if characters [[LampshadeHanging lampshade]] it.
the vast majority of demons and devils in a fictional universe are not explicitly established to fit this trope, a LampshadeHanging is required.

This trope has had a long evolution to its modern form. The many characteristics also have their own origin.
