* In ''Anime/Pokemon'', this happens a number of times such as when Ash battles Maylene and the battle between Buizel and Lucario blows a hole in the roof and causes it to start raining, allowing Buizel's [[SuperSpeed Swift Swim ability to kick in]]. The battle ends in a draw when Buizel's spinning Aqua Jet-Water Pulse combo collides with Lucario's Force Palm and both Pokémon are knocked out.

** Ditto for Bicolyte, Tentalus, and the final battle in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Skyward Sword]]''. Except in the latter case, [[spoiler:the storm gets ''[[LightningCanDoAnything weaponized]]'']].

* ''Film/TwentyThousandLeaguesUnderTheSea'' has a battle with a giant squid during a storm. This was actually the result of a bit of {{serendipity|WritesThePlot}}- the original version under clear skies at sunset looked ''[[SpecialEffectFailure terrible]]'', with the wires for the squid puppet being plain to see, ruining the illusion. Creator/WaltDisney suggested they shoot it in a simulated rainstorm to hide the wires, and the rest is history.

** The final battle between Arthur and Orm in ''Film/Aquaman2018'' happens on the surface in a massive rainstorm.
** An indoor version occurs in ''Film/BirdsOfPrey2020''. Harley Quinn accidentally triggers the sprinkler system inside the cell block while attempting to open Cassandra's cell; creating a massive downpour. A few moments later, Cassandra's door springs open. It's only as she is helping Cass out of the cell that Harley notices that all of the cell doors have been opened. The escaping thugs rush her and she fights back: all while being drenched by the sprinklers.

* Comicbook/TheMightyThor ''summons'' rain during Comicbook/TheAvengers' first bout with the Franchise/{{Justice League|OfAmerica}} in ''Comicbook/JLAAvengers''.

* ComicBook/{{Nightwing}}’s first fight with the Double Dare sisters takes place in a downpour, and given Blüdhaven is very close to Gotham with similar weather it's not the last time he has a fight in the rain.
* Shortly after his father's murder [[ComicBook/Robin1993 Robin III]] helps track down a bunch of Arkham escapees in the rain and ends up having a fight with Lock-up that nearly leads to them both drowning.

* ''ComicBook/WonderWomanTheHiketeia'': Franchise/WonderWoman and Franchise/{{Batman}}'s second confrontation turns into a CurbStompBattle in the rain, on a pier.

* "Haunted", an episode in ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' had Robin separated from the group while they were fighting and fought [[BigBad Slade]] in the rain. Particularly interesting in that [[spoiler:Slade was actually a hallucination. The animation hinted at this by Robin having a RainAura while Slade doesn't, [[LightningReveal Slade disappearing]] [[InvertedTrope every time lightning struck]], and Slade beating up Robin badly with the latter not landing a single blow]].

* The fight between Zatoichi and his EvilCounterpart in Takeshi Kitano's version of ''Zatoichi''.

* [[SubvertedTrope Subversion]]: In the ''Series/{{Angel}}'' episode "[[Recap/AngelS01E18FiveByFive Five by Five]]", a fight that looks like it's going to be a Battle in the Rain quickly turns into RedemptionInTheRain.
