*** Many people have; the idea that Ty Lee is descended from Air Nomads (and may be an Airbender herself) is fairly common {{Fanon}}.

* At the end of one of the StarWarsExpandedUniverse WhatIf-style comics, Darth Vader is turned to the light side by Luke and Leia together, and doesn't have to go through a RedemptionEqualsDeath because Palpatine ran instead of staying. His kids wrestle him into the Falcon and fly off before the Death Star goes boom. Cut to the epilogue, he's on the same side as his kids and in a new suit that is now [[ColorCodedForYourConvenience all white]], has a little less armor and a different overrobe, and otherwise looks ''exactly the same'', helmet and all. Maybe since they had basically five panels left and didn't engage in much AsYouKnow, they wanted to make it ''really'' [[ViewersAreMorons obvious]] what had happened.
* BlueBeetle's superpower-generated clothes are mostly blue, presumably as a side effect of their creation method. But why would a hispanic kid get an alien scarab that turns him into a cybernetic luchador? Maybe because it's sentient.
* The Thing of the FantasticFour is a classic subversion. At the time in comics, only monsters looked like that and its only been since then that {{Bricks}} have started being abnormally large inhuman and monstrous in appearance.
** His appearance is probably related to {{Golem}} mythos, however - where Golems ''are'' protectors.

* The webcomic SlightlyDamned has angels that dye their hair and wear uniforms to match their elemental affinity. The four types of demons also seem to have similarities based on what kind of demon they are.
* The character Angelique in ''KevinAndKell'' is far more cutthroat and cunning (almost predator-like) than any other rabbit in Domain. After her rabbit license got revoked over selling out the rabbits to R.L., she got herself reclassified as a rat and got plastic surgery to match.

* The ''GlobalGuardiansPBEMUniverse'' naturally uses this a lot being based on comic books. The best examples are probably Amnesty (the AnthropomorphicPersonification of Mercy) who wears angelic white robes, has a halo, wings, and glows with a pure white inner light, and the Blood Red King (the AnthropomorphicPersonification of Terror and Fear), who has red-glowing eyes, fangs, and has blood continually dripping from his hands.

* The ''[[TransformersAnimated Animated]]'' Constructicons look remarkably like human construction workers, right down to the hardhats and exposed buttcracks.

* While it's not natural, [[SailorMoon Usagi Tsukino]] and her daughter Chibiusa wear their hair in a way to look like [[MoonRabbit rabbit ears]]. Likewise, Michiru's hair looks like ocean waves, while Makoto's original school uniform and hairstyle are meant to evoke a Delinquent which she is rumored to be (But not actually, subverting the trope).

* Gretchen of ''BackyardSports'' talks reallyreallyreallyreally[[OverlyLongGag really]][[MotorMouth fast]] and has yellow hair. She's also one of the fastest runners in the league, and sometimes the game says that she is fast like lightning (which is yellow).

Likewise, Neptune's hair looks like ocean waves, while Jupiter's Original School Uniform and Hairstyle are meant to evoke a Delinquent which she is rumored to be (But not actually, subverting the trope).

* Laverne from ''DayOfTheTentacle'' is a CloudCuckoolander, and thus has an equally unhinged appearance, complete with BoatLights and a MadEye.

* Clark on ''{{Smallville}}'' fits this. Along with the 6-foot-4, heavily muscled frame and chiseled features one would expect of the future {{Superman}}, the character is almost always wearing blue jeans and a red shirt, foreshadowing his future costume.

* The film version of backstory!Sauron may deserve some blame, but the title character of the {{Overlord}} series looks exactly like what you'd expect. Glowing eyes, shrouded face, spiky plate armour, the works.

** Many fans figured that Kisame, a man who fights with water jutsu and a sword called "sharkskin", was a [[PettingZooPeople shark-man]] as a result of [[spoiler:fusing with Samehada and becoming even more shark-like]], but then we eventually saw that, no, he looked like that even before [[spoiler:getting Samehada.]]
