** The title character of ''Series/KamenRiderFaiz'' has ''three'' different ways of spelling his name, all of which are used by official sources. Is it 555, ϕ's or Faiz? The title of the show displayed during every episode reads "仮面ライダー555" (Kamen Rider 555), with "Masked Rider ϕ's" written in English just underneath it. ''Series/KamenRiderDecade'' eventually clarified that the proper spelling is Faiz.

** There are multiple possible ways to spell the surnames of the Second Doctor's companions Jamie and Zoe (the credits only show their first names). Jamie's surname has largely stabilised as "[=McCrimmon=]", but Zoe's has swung back and forth between "Heriot" and "Herriot" over the years. The BBC's own ''Series/DoctorWho'' episode guide uses [[http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/episodeguide/companions/page12.shtml both]] [[http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/episodeguide/wheelinspace/detail.shtml spellings]] on different pages. ** Is the name of the Leisure Centre's receptionist Carol or Carole? The subtitle and credits sequence for the show go with the latter, but news articles and even the Series 5 DVD box set for the show go with the former.
** Similarly, is Gavin's surname Featherly or Featherleigh? This confusion was more common in the earlier years of the fandom before Series 7, which included the episode title "[[Recap/TheBrittasEmpireS7E6GavinFeatherlyRIP Gavin Featherly R.I.P.]]", was made easier to watch through home media.

** Major Dr. Janet Fraiser, the base doctor, says the trope name verbatim in a featurette on the DVD release of Season 3. (Yes, this ''does'' count: the featurette is framed with the audience in the role of a consultant for the Pentagon, and Gen. Hammond and Dr. Fraiser are in character.)
** In one episode, the characters correct an official report on the aliens by claiming that the word is spelled "Goa'uld", not "Gould"... except they almost always pronounce it "Gould", except for the resident alien Teal'c.

* ''Series/AmberBrown2022'': Amber's friend Brandi always mentions it's "with an I" whenever she introduces herself.

** [[spoiler:Juna's]] real name plays this straight as when it's first revealed, it is spelled [[spoiler:Junaedi]] in the receipt and the name on the ID card is too blurry to see. Later, his ID card is shown clearer and it has [[spoiler:Junedi]] instead. Both pronouncations are used interchangeably by other characters.

** The fandom has firmly settled on the spelling "Izu" for the character from ''Series/KamenRiderZeroOne'', despite it being officially romanized as "Is" and the consistent ThemeNaming of English verbs and adverbs, largely as a result of the awkwardness of use in the English language. * ''Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder'': Conner's name is spelled with an 'e', when the more common spelling is Connor. ** Melani is more downplayed as her name is always spelled that ways in the show, but the episode titles in Zulu usually calls her "Melanie". The one time they doesn't, they calls her "Meilani" instead.
