* The Amulet of Change from ''VideoGame/NetHack'' switches the player, then disintegrates, leaving him/her stuck. Since this has [[PurelyAestheticGender next to no consequences on gameplay]] ([[SuccubiAndIncubi foocubi]] will seduce the opposite sex and attack the same, only females can lay eggs, and strange monsters' hatched eggs sometimes ignore male characters), the amulet is considered BetterOffSold except for stunts like making male Valkyries. The possibility that it's what an unidentified amulet is isn't considered a good reason not to try it on.
** In the ''[=NetHack=]'' fork ''[[VideoGame/{{SlashEmExtended}} Slash'EM Extended]]'', if the player creates a male Topmodel or female Transvestite as their player character, they instantly turn into the other gender. This doesn't stop them from using the Amulet of Change to revert to their starting gender though.
* In ''VideoGame/{{OMORI}}'', after [[spoiler:Omori recreates Headspace on the Hikikomori Route]], Medusa will offer a "Mystery Potion" that, if used underwater, will turn Omori into a girl until she either uses it again, looks in a mirror, enters battle, or goes above water.
* Although not necessarily a true case of Gender Bending, the 1996 game ''VideoGame/Pandemonium1996'' by Crystal Dynamics has a cheat labeled; BODYSWAP, which, when inputted shows the statement "Gender Bender!" The cheat itself, however, only enables in-level character swapping between Nikki and Fargus.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Persona 4}}'', [[spoiler:Shadow Naoto]] tries to turn its creator into an adult male through body alteration. Luckily, you can stop it before that happens because all shadows you haven't personally stopped have murdered their originals, the implication being that the operation would have GoneHorriblyWrong.

* In ''VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneySpiritOfJustice'', Maya Fey has the power to recall spirits from the afterlife and into her body. And in this game, she channels the spirits of some men (namely [[spoiler:Tah'rust Inmee, a murder victim who had crucial testimony]] and [[spoiler:Dhurke Sadhmadhi, Apollo's adoptive father]]). The titular device is used by the planet's all-female population for reproduction in lieu of actual men. When Rex first meets a local woman who doesn't want to kill him on the spot, she assumes he's actually a woman who has used the device. Rex has to convince her that he's a real man by doing the stereotypical "manly" things, like knowing what a torque wrench is and having no idea how to set a table.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' has a somewhat complicated example in Seth, an ArtificialHuman whose male body was destroyed at the end of ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'', who then returned in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV'' inhabiting a new body based on the very female [[AmazonianBeauty Juri]]. It should be noted that while Seth is consistently referred to with male pronouns [[VocalDissonance and possesses a deep, masculine voice]], he's technically just an [[ArtificialIntelligence advanced AI]] with NoBiologicalSex -- if there are any changes to Seth beyond his body, it's that [[TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody he stockpiled Juri's]] [[AxCrazy violent insanity]] [[UpToEleven onto his own]].

This appears to have been an error, though, as her rare appearances in dragon form have since been changed to either just say Chromie, or Chronormi (the female suffix for bronze dragons).
