** We much focus is given to the historical relations between the rulers of England, Germany and Russia, and we see the Shepherd has agents manipulating Germany and Russia. It might then seem odd he has seemingly no one in England, considering that it his his primary target. [[spoiler:Because it turns out his agent in England is the Shepherd himself, Morton.]]

** The film portrays Wilhelm II, Nicholas II and George V as close in ages and having spent their childhood together under Queen Victoria, and that World War 1 is the result of feuds the three had as children. In reality Wilhelm was 9 years Nicholas' senior (And 5 year George's), and Nicholas only visited London once in his childhood. Wilhelm first met Nicholas when he was 16 at the later's coming of age ceremony - Wilhelm was 25 at the time. All three future monarchs grew up in their respective courts. Furthermore, when George was a child there was little expectation he'd be king, as he was behind his father and older brother Albert Victor in the line of succession. Albert Victor died of illness childless when George V was in his 20s so it's only then that it became apparent George V would inherit the throne.

** For a film that dives fairly deeply into the politics and causes of the First World War, not even the ''word'' "France" is uttered throughout the entire movie. Nor the Ottoman Empire. Possibly justified by the movie being an AlternateHistory where perhaps France took no part, but that raises the question of where exactly the British are fighting during the scenes in the trenches.
