* AchillesHeel: One is finally found for the trioxin zombies: [[spoiler:High-voltage electricity.]]

* TheEndOrIsIt: [[spoiler:It is implied that the power plant electrocution didn't actually kill the zombies outright since a decapitated zombie head [[EyeAwaken opens her eyes]] afterwards, even surviving after a soldier burns her with a flamethrower. The zombie head gets the final lines in the movie, stating dramatically "You win...for now." At very least it incapacitates them allowing the military to finish them off]]

* MilitariesAreUseless: Although they manage to not take Jesse's interrupted call for granted and arrive to the town, all they perform is cordon off the town and shoot anybody trying to leave, send only one armed jeep inside (which is annihilated pretty quickly), and perform clean-up after the heroes manage to kill the zombies.

* ShockAndAwe: Revealed to be the most efficient way to kill zombies in-series thus far.

** Ed beheads dead bodies and robs them of their valuables for profit and has a rather morbid sense of humor around Joey. Chances are you won't feel too sorry for him getting infected and turned into one of the undead. Same for Brenda, who made so many moronic decisions with the group and seemingly has no empathy for anyone besides Joey (and herself) that you'll probably be rooting for Zombie!Joey when he devours her brain ([[WhatAnIdiot she even lets him do it too just after he tells her he loves her]]).

** [=James Karen=] and [=Thom Matthews=] are once again exposed to Trioxin and are slowing turning into zombies. Only this time they’re grave robbers as opposed to warehouse workers.

* LoveMakesYouStupid / LoveHurts : [[spoiler: Brenda for some reason agrees to have her brains eaten by her zombified boyfriend, instead of, you know, running away in a pretty open area]]

* MythologyGag: [=James Karen=] and [=Thom Matthews=] are once again exposed to Trioxin and are slowing turning into zombies. Only this time they’re grave robbers as opposed to warehouse workers.

* ZombieGait: The older zombies have stiff movements, the fresher ones can move more freely.

* RealityEnsues: Both inverted and played straight; the zombies play by the same rules as the first film, but they just can't stand electricity. High voltage can kill the living ''dead'' as easily as it can kill the living, and [[spoiler:thanks to the efforts of the protagonists the infestation is stopped as quickly as it was in ''Film/NightOfTheLivingDead1968'']].

* SpottingTheThread: A particularly clever zombie almost lures the protagonists into a trap, until Doc Mendel asks him who the current president is. Having been dead for years, if not decades, he has no idea.

* MythologyGag: [=James Karen=] and [=Thom Matthews=] are once again exposed to the Trioxin and are slowing turning into zombies. Only this time they’re grave robbers as opposed to warehouse workers.
** Brian Peck appears in the series for the second time, this now he’s playing multiple zombies, most infamously the Michael Jackson expy.
