Puddinghead is more than happy, however, to recount [[UnreliableNarrator how he bested The Kraken with ease thanks to his amazing Kido abilities.]]

* SplitPersonality: The memories from their past lives are just that - memories. Yet, they can form a separate entity based on inherited experiences. How their cooperation goes usually depends on their past-time personality. Astra and Anteros prefer to act as advisors until their current lives [[SplitPersonalityMerge absorb their memories]]. [[EnemyWithin Eos]], on the other hand, tries to forcefully take over Celestia, [[HeroicWillpower only for her strong will to keep her at bay.]]

* TranslatorMicrobes: A saguhain named Ulgriv has a translation spell cast on him so the heroes can interrogate him. This leads to the others assuming that he's a traitor.

* VillainousFriendship: Starlight Glimmer and Firefly have a Type I. They've been friends for years and have sworn to change the world no matter what together. [[spoiler:Begrudgingly, Platinum starts to view Firefly in a similar light.]]

* WildCard: [[spoiler:Firefly, Rainbow Dash's mother. Originally TheMole for Discord to spy on Starlight Glimmer, before becoming one of her CoDragons, and yet isn't above helping Rainbow Dash and her friends. Even Firefly admits she's not quite sure whose side she's on.]]

** [[spoiler:Hollow Tirek would self-admit to being fully willing to kill his brother Scorpan over their ideological differences and hated how his brother refused to believe him about the fate of the Soul Queen, but when he senses that Scorpan has been killed by Glory, he does feel genuine grief for his brother's passing. It also adds yet another grudge to his vendetta against the Zero Division.]]

** Tirek is this to RatedMForManly levels. Sunset describes him as built like a brickhouse and a "walking mountain of testosterone", has ManlyFacialHair framing a square and rigid jawline, and he claims half-jokingly to Chryslais the reason he [[WalkingShirtlessScene doesn't wear a shirt]] is because he kept tearing them everytime he flexed.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Ember and Gilda both go barefoot, the former being a LittleBitBeastly and the latter being described as something of a muscle-bound bruiser.

** Asuna human form's described as a 'Hulking Woman who would put female bodybuilders to shame'.

* BeamOWar: {{Averted}} with the clash of Catrina's Gran Rey Cero and Spitfire's Godfire technique. The narration explicitly describes the two spiritual-based attacks as not clashing in a show of wills, but mixing together before exploding in an uncontrollable burst that sends both combatants flying.

* EatingTheEyeCandy: Despite herself, [[spoiler:Sweet Cider]] can't stop eying up [[spoiler:Lament/Hard Nail]] and remarking to herself how handsome he looks even while in a maelstrom of conflicting emotions while they fight. [[spoiler:Only fitting, considering he ''is'' the man she fell in love with and married and even turning into an Arrancar didn't detract from his looks. In fact, she even admits to herself she likes the longer shaggy hair.]]

* LifeDrinker: Wind Rider was sentenced to the Strafbattalion for copying the Bount and [[SoulEating draining the soul energy of both normal humans and Quincy alike]] to remain strong and young. Though he was forced to give up all the soul energy he'd collected, he still managed to hide a few vials in the event he ever needed a quick boost.

* PoweredArmor: Applejack's Evolved Fullbring is a reduced variant, consisting of armor for just her arms and legs and like that [[ComicBook/IronMan "fella wit the fancy armor suit"]] she can use them to fly. Her Completed Fulbring is a near perfectly form fitting golden armour with skull motif and many faintly visible circular ports.

* ShockAndAwe: Rainbow Dash can create and build up electricity in her body, combined with RazorWings.

* CityOfTheDamned: Laying in the deepest layer of Hell lays a place called Tartarus, the closest thing Sinners have to a Town. Because Kushanāda don't go there, it allows them to create something resemble a community, torn by constant [[HellIsWar gang wars.]] To get there, however, Sinners have to traverse through Hell avoiding Kushanada that will reap them apart the moment they see them, find a specific hole shaped like a gaping maw filled with teeth, either walk through a makeshift metal bridge heated to the point it will burn anyone that tries to touch it or jump from stalagmite to stalagmite and risk falling into the lava river. While walking there you witness graffiti painted in blood and depicting all manners of vulgarity and debauchery alongside many cages with sinners not strong enough to protect themselves inside. Once there, the Town is a ramshackle pile of rocks, iron slabs, and chains tightly inhabited by people dressed in human hides and bones.

* ChildSoldiers: Downplayed with Quincy. Most of them are trained since a young age to fight Hollows and spend most of the time perfecting their skills. With how regularly Quincy is outclassed in terms of power compared to Arrancars and Soul Reapers, it's necessary. Sugarcoat mentions that, while they have times off, they have hard time maintaining their social life. Still, they stay away from serious fights until they graduate to soldats and have a chance to leave instead of joining them. The age at which they start their training also varies from person to person. [[spoiler: Twilight and Diamond Tiara]] for example were [[GiveHimANormalLife unaware of their families' business]] until recently, while [[spoiler:Silver Spoon]] was being trained since the day she was able to walk.
** Played straight with Guto's army. To become part of it, children have to pass series of gruesome tests and if they don't, they're being starved. The final part is a group fight where only a handful of them survives. Gilda says that before [[FriendToAllChildren Lament]], it was this or staying in the warrens, trying to not being eaten.

* BladeOnAStick:
** In the released state Fancy Pants' zanpakutō takes a form of spear with small, leaf shaped point and an elegant banner displaying complex Kanji.
** Dash eventually gains a foot long [[ShockStick spear]] with twin heads of solid azure lightning.
** Gilda, in her Resurrección gains a black spear with a large leaf-shaped blade and a thick tuft of golden hair at the base, dripping a [[PoisonIsCorrosive corrosive blood.]]
** Scylla's weapon was a glaive with a blade forged to resemble a striking wave. Even after centuries of being submerged underwater [[RagnarokProofing was not worse to wear.]] Later it demonstrated the ability to change its size.

** King Sombra to Quincy King Sombra, King Sombra is ObviouslyEvil with a ZeroPercentApprovalRating among the Crystal Ponies as TheDreaded who he turned into a SlaveRace, Quincy Sombra is AmbiguouslyEvil and enjoys a HundredPercentAdorationRating who he acts as AFatherToHisMen to the Quincy, who all willingly serve him with UndyingLoyalty. In the comics Sombra usurped the Crystal Empire from Princess Amore while Quincy Sombra is the rightful king of the Quincy, being the progenitor of the race, King Sombra was an EvilOverlord while Quincy Sombra acts as TheGoodKing, King Sombra spent a thousand years being sealed away while Quincy Sombra has been active for over a thousand years. However, several comments and Sombra's own words imply there was a time he wasn't so different from his Equestrian counterpart before he TookALevelInKindness.

* HundredPercentAdorationRating: Unlike his pony self, everyone seems to like Quincy King Sombra. The Quincy all love him, Soul Society seems to at least tolerate him, and even the Espada seem to respect, or at least not hate, him.

* CreepyChild: [[spoiler: Cozy Glow]] full stop. Let's start with that she is in HELL. An actual Hell. Then there is the fact she might be the top dog on the pile of corpses in there, keeping the deepest part of it in relative order with her own gang called Legion, speaks about how horrible humans are and all the atrocities of the place with a huge smile on her half-burned face and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking casually swears and flips people off.]]

* WhipItGood: [[spoiler:Applebloom's]] Fullbring manifests as a crimson whip and Cheerilee's sword transforms into a whip tipped with a steel barb.

* SadisticChoice: Medley gives Ravana a choice, either he sends [[spoiler: Human Sunset]] to Hueco Mundo or she'll fight him right there, most likely killing her in the process. Ravana calls her out of it, but Medley counters it saying that as a half-hollow she has a bigger chance of survival there.

* WouldntHurtAChild: Medley had the opportunity to kill young [[spoiler: Human Sunset]] but instead opted to send her to Hueco Mundo. Then again, sending a person that knows nothing about fighting to a Realm full of extremly aggresive, hungry Beasts can barely be called mercy. Though she justifies it saying that as a Half-hollow she could thrive there. [[spoiler: She was right.]]

* TheCameo: Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck shows up in the Fourth Espada's lair as one of his adopted Arrancar children.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: As the story progresses many hints are dropped that the Fourth Espada is [[spoiler:Applejack's father,]] with said hints increasing to the point where it's all but stated when he actually makes his appearance.

* AdaptationalIntelligence: Garble, of the SmarterThanYouLook variety. He instantly knows that [[spoiler:Adagio]] had something to do with Ember spontaneously attacking him during the Hollow's invasion of the Quincy's training area, and is now spending a good deal of his time finding out what. [[spoiler:He also stole Torch's Caja Negación cube to use against Amity, and when faced against Prim Hemline's "Zero" Schrift, he tricks her into killing him so that the cube drops into his Hollow hole, saving Ember from being slayed by her.]]
