* ShoutOut: When Cherri questions how Holy Diver is back after being taken to heaven by Exterminators, Poker Face asks if he was supposed to go to [[Recap/SouthParkS4E9DoTheHandicappedGoToHell Detroit]].

* AffablyEvil: Most of HOLY DIVER's crew have an airy sort of good humor about them, but Moonshine (Impostor Captain Tenille) is easily the most outright jovial. Be it his good relations with Cherri Bomb or his politeness towards Charlie, even when killing people he strives to be friendly.

* TurtlePower: Sheer Heart Attack is now a skeletal tortoise as opposed to an RC Tank with a skull on its front. Its still exactly as fast as it was in life.

* YoureJustJealous: Husk is convinced this is why Vaggie is annoyed with Charlie spending so much time with Kira. While it's definitely a factor, Vaggie is more concerned about Kira being a serial killer who fetishized his victims' hands, due to [[FreudianExcuse losing her fellow prostitute friends in life to murderous Johns while living in fear of the same happening to her]].

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Kira announces at dinner that he killed 48 women (and 40-50 other collateral killings) and kept the hands as girlfriends. This doesn't come off as the shocking reveal he thought it would because everyone there is in Hell, no one is surprised by violence or depravity. Charlie just thinks he's admitting it as part of his goal for redemption.
** Early in the story, Kira continues to maintain the quiet lifestyle he had in the living world in Hell. Keeping to himself, paying his bills, dressing like he did when he was alive, going to work, using his human name and not engaging in crimes or vices thinking it will make him as unnoticeable in death as it did in life. His neighbors find his "normal" behavior extremely abnormal because they're in Hell. He's there because he's unquestionably evil in some way and did something horrible while he was alive... but refuses to ''act like it'', which the demons take as him saying he's better than them, which they find highly insulting.
** Charlie has Angel Dust attempt to go full cold turkey with his drug addiction. It causes him to go full-on jittery and paranoid like a real life junkie would being denied their fix.

* BaitAndSwitch: After Chapter 12 ends with [[spoiler: HOLY DIVER giving The World to God Given and a mission to abduct Kira and Charlie]], Chapter 13 begins describing four demons with a mission, presumably HOLY DIVER's QuirkyMinibossSquad, approaching the Hotel. [[spoiler: Turns out they're just [[Franchise/{{Hellraiser}} Cenobites]] trying to spread the gospel of Leviathan]].

** God Given (AKA Donatello Versus) has essentially the same powers as he did on earth, but since this is Hell he can [[spoiler:freely summon an army of exorcists to do his bidding, making him one of the most outright deadly demons in Hell]].

* HorrifyingTheHorror: Kira is this to much of Hell due to his abilities and anonymity, but even he regards Cherri Bomb with a healthy amount of respect, referring her as 'the scary one with the eye'. [[DownplayedTrope Though that doesn't stop him]] from threatening to give her a "new and intimate understanding of what it means to explode" if she ever tries anything as brash as [[spoiler: drugging him]] again.

** Donatello Versus/God Given's powers now allow him to create constructs based on memories, rather than just outright replays. This does away with his previous weakness of recreating the circumstances of the original survivors, but people can conduct actions and receive results that were not part of the original memory[[labelnote:*]]For example, if he once again conjured the plane crash memory he used against Jolyne, doing what she did and sitting in the seats of the original survivors would not guarantee safety, the victim could hypothetically stop the crash altogether.[[/labelnote]]. So while [[spoiler:finding the right hiding place can't be used to avoid the Exorcists he creates, the constructs ''can'' be fought like normal, allowing the gang to survive until Kira kills God Given.]].

* PhysicalGod: Charlie turns out to be this. When forced to fight, she proves to be possibly ''the'' physically strongest character in the setting. She ''is'' Lucifer's daughter, after all. Mr. Clean was essentially the Boogeyman of Hell.

** Being frozen in pants-wetting terror in the presence of HOLY DIVER is considered to be an acceptable response, though he considers it impolite to continue to do so.

This actually makes Kira consider why he came to the hotel in the first place and decide that, yes, he would like to (It also stops him from detonating the bomb he put in Charlie's meal).

* VileVillainSaccharineShow: Adult cartoon source material aside, the fanfic largely indulges in the sense of humor from ''Hazbin Hotel's'' pilot episode, with Kira as a magnificent StraightMan to everyone else's eccentricity. [[BigBad HOLY DIVER,]] however, is a bona-fide KnightOfCerberus whose every scene is [[TheDreaded dripping with fear and tension]]. Husk's flashback to his first encounter with him at a poker game spells out how terrified he is of the guy (keep in mind he was able to [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu casually mouth off at Alastor]] in the pilot for comparison).

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: When God Given arrives at the hotel to capture Charlie and Kira, he finds that Kira offered to stay behind to distract the Stand Users while Charlie and the rest of the staff/guests escaped. Rather than believe [[CharacterDevelopment Kira had a change of heart]], God Given assumes that Kira did it simply to ''spite'' him, since showing up with only one of his intended targets would shame God Given in the eyes of HOLY DIVER.
