The series started with the original story set in the ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' universe and has such [[MassiveMultiplayerCrossover moved through]] the game worlds of ''VideoGame/FullmetalAlchemist2CurseOfTheCrimsonElixir'', VideoGame/ChronoTrigger, and is currently in the game-verse of ''VideoGame/JakIIRenegade''.

* JumpPhysics: Lampshaded at times, played straight at others.

* [[spoiler:TheCorrupter:[[BladeOnAStick Dilan]], who manipulated [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling Erica]] into turning herself into a [[TheHeartless Heartless]].]]

** [[spoiler:[[TheCorrupter Dilan]] had a [[BladeOnAStick single spear]], and later utilizes [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Jack Crowley]] as a [[{{Familiar}} Guardian Heartless]].]]

* CurbstompBattle: [[HiddenAgendaVillain Hyperion]] kicks Mickey, Donald, and Goofy's collective ass' effortlessly after defeating [[BonusBoss the Lingering Will]] [[spoiler: with VideoGame/ChronoCross magic and Terra's stolen Keyblade.]]

* PetTheDog: Subverted. Alex is offered 10,000 Gold for a piece of jerky he bought for 9,900. Despite being told he can get a profit of 100, he gives the jerky away and the woman runs back home to teach her children about the meaning of charity ... [[WhatAnIdiot and then slowly realises he's just lost a lot of money.]] For extra points, this entire sequence has no reason for being other than to get rid of the jerky.

* SacrificialLamb: [[spoiler:Azelas]] in the fourth story.
* SelfInsertFic: Admittedly, this is one of the better ones.
* SequelHook: See DreamingOfThingsToCome.

* NamesTheSame: Technically, the second fic has three Alexs - Karsath, Armstrong, and the dead dog.

* AchillesHeel: [[spoiler: Attacks that hit [[TheHero Alex]] and enter the keyhole on [[WeaponOfChoice the Lockshield]] deal direct damage to his heart, and are far more damaging than other attacks. Except that one from [[EldritchAbomination La]][[VideoGame/ChronoTrigger vos]] that [[OurHeroIsDead killed him]] in the third story.]]

* AnthropomorphicPersonification: [[spoiler:[[TalkingToThemself Joumae]], the manifestation of the [[WeaponOfChoice Lockshield's]] will, takes the form of Alex, but with green eyes and [[TwentyFourHourArmor strange green armor]]. He has his own [[MorphWeapon Lockshield design]], the Kingdom Copy, which takes cues from the [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Kingdom Key Keyblade]].]]

* EmpathicWeapon: Sort of. [[spoiler:[[DeadpanSnarker Joumae]] is the AnthropomorphicPersonification manifestation of the [[WeaponOfChoice Lockshield's]] will, and so can decide who it can be summoned by at [[OurHeroIsDead one point]] in the third story, or decide not to be summoned at all.]]

* MorphWeapon: The [[WeaponOfChoice Lockshield]] has several designs, which can be switched between to alter abilities granted. So far, seven designs are known, and five have come up in the story.

* WeaponOfChoice: [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe The Lockshield]] for Alex. TheHeartless of [[BigBadDuumvirate the Apprentices of Ansem the Wise]] each have their own weapons, as do each of the protagonists.

** [[spoiler:[[TortureTechnician Even]] wields an identical copy of the ''[[WeaponOfChoice Kingdom]] [[DeadpanSnarker Copy]] [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe Lockshield]].'']]

* FiveManBand: Alexander has a FiveManBand dynamic with the main protagonists of his Interferences.
** TheHero: Alexander Karsath, Lockshield Master and quite obviously TheHero and main character.
** TheLancer: Jak from ''VideoGame/JakAndDaxter''. An AntiHero and the protagonist that doesn't hang onto Alex's every word and is most likely to question his orders.
** TheBigGuy: Crono, from VideoGame/ChronoTrigger. A SilentProtagonist and quite possibly the most powerful physical and magical fighter and in his adventure he was basically Alex's muscle following his every command.
** TheSmartGuy, NumberTwo ''and'' a second [[TheLancer Lancer]]: Edward Elric from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist''. The protagonist that Alex has the strongest relationship with trusts the most and is basically his second best friend. He is in charge whenever Alex is indisposed [[spoiler:or dead]], and their friendship was so strong that Ed was the second person ever to wield the Lockshield and even became the Lockshield Master when [[spoiler:Alex died.]] As for his [[TheSmartGuy Smart Guy]] position, he ''is'' an alchemist and scientist.
** TheHeart ''and'' TheChick: Sora from ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' and Alphonse Elric from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' are TheHeart and TheChick at the same time. Due to both being the nicest, kindest protagonists.
** TeamPet: Daxter from ''VideoGame/JakAndDaxter'', DeadpanSnarker extraordinaire, the first to complain about ''anything'' and well... he's a talking animal, what other position would he have fit into?

* EpiphanyTherapy: Actually [[AvertedTrope averted]] in the case of [[spoiler:Alex's feelings about [[TheCorruptible Erica's]] [[CorruptTheCutie corruption]] and [[DrivenToSuicide suicide]] due to the intervention of [[TheCorrupter Dilan]]. He talks to [[BalefulPolymorph Frog]] about it, and keeps it to himself mostly, but it takes a conversation with [[OfficialCouple Lucca]] [[GadgeteerGenius Ashtar]] for him to actually start to overcome his [[TheStoic stoicism]] about the whole thing.]]

* DeepImmersionGaming: The premise takes this UpToEleven and runs with it.

** The roleplay forums take this UpToEleven due to the number of contributors, but the official world sections are limited to ones appearing in the fanfics.

* BiggerBad: The Titans have a connection to a person only known as 'Sister' who they all seem to worship, and of course, Master Xehanort is waiting in the wing.

* CrapsackWorld: Haven City really sticks out in TheVerse a an A-Grade piece of crap with it going out of its way to ruin peoples' lives, is an all around nasty piece of work, and doesn't pretend to be what its not. [[TropesAreNotBad This actually makes the story better.]]
* CrutchCharacter: Alex, Edward, and Alphonse are this to the VideoGame/ChronoTrigger cast in ''The Wings of Time''. The VideoGame/ChronoTrigger characters all start at around level one while the three Interferences are in the fifties to eighties level wise and their existence allows them to avert the ArbitraryHeadcountLimit of the story making things much easier, [[TropesAreNotBad Although this doesn't affect the quality of the story.]]
