TheProtagonist of the novella, "Shai" is the greatest Forger known to the Rose Empire, [[BoxedCrook "employed"]] to Forge the soul of [[TheEmperor Emperor Ashravan]] over the course of three months.

* EvilAlbino: He's deathly pale and has red eyes, both of which seem to be traits of his people.
