!! Coma Citizens

[[folder: The Shade/Vicious Sister]]

[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/coma_shade.png]]

The primary antagonist of the two games. She mostly played a small role in the first game, possessing Seho and wanting to get her flute Relic back, but was the one that wants Youngho to get out of The Coma.\\
\\
She turns out to be a Fettered Shade of Sumi Park, created when Sumi was too grieved over her brother's death. She created the Dark Song to stalk the school and mock Sumi Park, and plans to possess Youngho's body to infiltrate the waking world.

[[folder:Shades]]

Demons native to The Coma; embodiments of humanity's negative emotion. Shades are distinguished from Shadows by their monstrous appearance and vicious natures. They hate all living things, but especially Ghost Vigilantes, whose duty is to kill them. All Shades are stronger and tougher than humans, but Fettered Shades- the embodiment of a specific person's emotions- are the most dangerous. If certain conditions are met, Shades can enter the Waking World.

There are two 'subspecies' of Shade that appear occasionally. One is the Notemen, localized beings who exist to record the thoughts and speech of people within a given area. The second type is the Dokkaebi, pale goblins who like to trick and extort unwitting humans. Both of these subspecies, though not necessarily safe, are not physically violent like most Shades. Several Notemen have been outright helpful to the protagonists- usually in return for tools that help them satisfy their compulsion.
