* AxCrazy: It's one of the few X-creatures that appears to be genuinely hostile towards its prey, and will chase them down without much provocation.

* NonMaliciousMonster: Averted. It relentlessly chases its prey — namely, humans who just happened to have stumbled across its territory — until it catches up and eats them alive.

* SuperPersistentPredator: It won't rest until it finds you and devours you whole.

* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler:Subverted. She's prepared to die while Derek inspects the bag for the blood sample, but little did he know that he'd been set up.]]

* EverythingsBetterWithMonkeys: Averted with Eruka, the mutant ape that tries to kill you.

* NonMaliciousMonster: The Yeti doesn't seek to hurt anybody, and will only attack people if they wander into its cave. Even then, it only seems to become hostile if it's provoked too much, and pushes Steppenwolf out of the way if he runs into it prior to their fight.

* CreepyMonotone: He speaks in a flat and robotic tone with next to no inflection.

* PluckyComicRelief: Derek is clumsy and incompetent, [[SkewedPriorities has a bad sense of priorities]], an dorky demeanor, and [[ButtMonkey receives the most abuse out of anybody in the cast]]. Thus, he stands out as this dark series' primary source of humor for the first couple seasons.

* GoodWingsEvilWings: Neither, really, but its wings are quite sinister-looking and compliment its vampiric nature.

!The Natives

A tribe of Congo natives who worship the Mokele Mbembe, lead by an [[NoNameGiven unnamed]] "queen".

* AxCrazy: If ''worshiping a freaking dinosaur'' and giving it people to eat doesn't say enough about their insanity ...
* DarkestAfrica: Where they live.
* ReligionOfEvil: They worship the Mokele Mbembe and offer it human sacrifices.
* SlasherSmile: The queen bares a nasty one when she's about to cut Derek.

!Tibetan Militia

A ruthless terrorist group, ordered by Donovan to pursue Meg and the Steppenwolf.

* AxCrazy: By far, the most violent and dangerous of the antagonists.
* GrenadeHotPotato: A couple of them chuck grenades at Alan until he picks one up and throws it at a boulder above them.
* KnightOfCerebus: They're far more threatening than the natives in the first season, and are shown to be a lot more dangerous and heavily armed. Plus they're the first group to successfully kill a major character. [[spoiler:Except ... [[SubvertedTrope not really]].]]
* NoIndoorVoice: What little they say is often shouted.
* TheStoic: They all have the same default facial expression, unless they're in immediate danger. Or dead.
* TooDumbToLive: Not collectively, but [[spoiler:Derek]] sends two of them into the Yeti's cave to kill it. [[CurbStompBattle That doesn't end well for them]].

!The Dagger League

A green extremist group who will take drastic measures to ensure that the Kraken remains undisturbed. [[spoiler:Lead by Olaf's daughter, Ula.]]

* AnimalWrongsGroup: They don't want humans to disturb the Kraken's natural habitat ... so they resort to violence against those who want to.
* MalevolentMaskedMan: Wear black ski masks.

!The Brotherhood
A Puerto Rican cult devoted to the worship of the Chupacabra. Octavio was once a member.

* BloodMagic: What they use to draw the Chupacabra to human prey, aside from the whistle. Subverted in that it's not actually magic at all.
* FatBastard: Rodriguez, Octavio's contact from the cult who stabs him and leaves him for dead.
* HumanSacrifice: Although they'll kill animals, too.
* KnifeNut: They carry vicious-looking ceremonial daggers.
* LeanAndMean: The three cult members you face in the final episode of the season are rather emaciated.
* MalevolentMaskedMan: Or at least, the three you face on the beach are. The only other one you encounter shows his face.
* ReligionOfEvil: What else would they be when they knowingly praise a blood-sucking monster and offer humans and animals alike to it as sacrifices? And if the note Meg finds in the silo is any indication, [[ParanoiaFuel they're everywhere]].
* WouldHurtAChild: They abduct Pedro and "baptize" him with goat's blood to attract the Chupacabra. It should probably go without saying that they don't discriminate with their sacrifices. Men, women, children, they're all fair game.

!Donovan's guards
Reggie's henchmen. First encountered in the final season.

* CoolGun: They use Steyr [=AUGs=], and in the penultimate episode, stun guns modeled after them.
* ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy: When Donovan orders them to kill [[spoiler:Meg and Steppenwolf,]] they open fire and keep missing. Averted in-game, though.
* SinisterShades: A pair of red goggles.

* PluckyComicRelief: Derek is clumsy and incompetent, [[SkewedPriorities has a bad sense of priorities]], an {{Adorkable}} demeanor, and [[ButtMonkey receives the most abuse out of anybody in the cast]]. Thus, he stands out as this dark series' primary source of humor for the first couple seasons.

* HiddenDepths: "They don't call me captain for nothing. I'm a fellow seaman. I speak their language."

* BewareTheSillyOnes: As laughable and worthless as he may seem, [[spoiler:he's working for Donovan, and he ''will'' murder anybody — even Buddhist monks — who stand in his way of finding the X-creatures.]]
