* BoobsOfSteel: She's a competent fighter despite possessing no powers, and post timeskip her bust rivals Shakugan's.

* YouGotSpunk: Her standing up for Senya to Mudo makes him very interested in her, leading to him using her as bait to make Senya fight.

* NamesTheSame: Discussed InUniverse. He's not ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato_Takeru the]]'' Yamato Takeru, but it doesn't stop Shinsuke from wondering that for a moment when they first met, given all the legendary characters he's already seen by that point.

* AsianFoxSpirit: His Spiritual Awakening technique transfers Tama's spiritual energy into his body, causing him to gain wild golden hair, fox ears, and grow tails made of PureEnergy (increasing up to nine as he learns better control of the technique). * TheWildHunt: His recurring character motif is the Japanese equivalent, the ''Hyakki Yako''/Night Parade of a Hundred Demons (or rather a thousand in his case, giving him the name of his SignatureMove Senki Yako). [[spoiler: After going full pacifist, he replaces the motif, taking on the looks of the thousand-armed Buddha.]]

* AmnesiacHero: In Part 2. He had [[LaserGuidedAmnesia completely forgotten]] whatever happened before the Mountain Goddess sealed him and Jinun. He eventually regains his memories, and decides to leave behind his past at the Dangaishu.

* UnableToCry: H wasn't broken up when his parents died, didn't shed a tear when his wife died, and couldn't muster up the will to cry when he recognizes what's been happening to Senya. [[spoiler:Only after he gets defeated by Douren in their final confrontation together does he allow himself to cry over all of the hardships in his life.]]

* NoSell:Due to his spirit having no fixed form, [[spoiler:the Tribe of the Void's control over him wears off almost immediately. He decides to go along with their plans anyway ForTheLulz.]]

* YouCantFightFate: The older two learn this the hard way and return to their nation, though Senya [[HopeSpot informs them that he is a descendant of theirs, so at the very least their bloodline survives]]. The younger one decides to continue walking the time-space continuum searching for a solution.

* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: His sanity starts to deteriorate after he eats Taizan's flesh during his fight with Yazen, [[RealityEnsues who takes advantage of that]] by tricking him into thinking he killed Tama. [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge It backfires]] when he [[PowerBornOfMadness transforms into the Beast God after succumbing to madness]].

* SmallAnnoyingCreature: He looks like a bipedal turnip.
