* GoodIsNotSoft: He is surprisingly brutal to the enemies he faces, alongside Pikarina, who encourages it. Of particular note is abandoning General Rat while escaping Snake's body; and General Dog, who offers his Moonstone if Kutaro bests him in playing rough, and ultimately has his brain sliced in half.
* GiftedlyBad: Played with in that the game states that the reason Kutaro is quiet is because his actor was terrible at vocally acting. While his mannerisms come through visually in game, Kutaro himself is so small unfocused and not usually the focus that most of what he does could count as a FunnyBackgroundEvent, such as when Pikarina talks to him during the into to Act 1 of Chapter 2, where he seems more interested in playing with and snipping at the forest animals than listening to her talk about Ezma.

Also known as G. Gregarious T. Oswald is the narrator of the theater Kutaro's story takes place in. He's, of course, never seen physically, but he's the one who casted the show, owns the magical theater, and explains backstory and lore of the moon to the audience. As with any narrator worth their salt, we come to learn a bit about him as he also converses with the characters, and while he's just supposed to be a narrator, he does also help Kutaro along by giving him hints and cheering him on.

\n\n\n* VitriolicBestBuds: With Pikarina, she's volatile, insulting, attention-seeking, and often just wants to get to the point; meanwhile he is more even tempered, contemplative, likes to get lost in details, but is never directly seen. To say they two verbally butt heads during the game would be a grand understatement, as Pikarina loves to WagTheDirector or otherwise interrupt his narration. The two are on good terms and behind Kutaro all the way, after all, he wouldn't have hired her if he didn't think she was suited to play her character.

* AuthorAppeal: The show is his creation, and thus the setpieces become based on things he has HiddenDepths interests in, such as trains and giant robots.
* CoolOldGuy: He's apparently a fairly elderly gentleman, While Kutaro traverses Lake Cedrus in Act two he reminisces about his honeymoon, he makes a point to cherish the memories when "you're as old as I am." This does not stop him from enjoying the proceedings.
* LemonyNarrator: About on par with the Trope Namer, but as an opposing {{Foil}} to Snicket, Oswald is chipper, optimistic and will often get in on the fun of the story he's telling.

* GoodIsNotNice: She's a cranky old witch who has sent numerous puppet children to their doom to get Calibrus, and forces them to help her in the kitchen if they refuse, all while constantly screaming and berating them. * JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Snarky and vain, yet loyal and helpful.
