Not one of Echidna's children but rather her husband, a fleshy mass of faces fought in the Hall of Malice. Countless experiments creating chimeras has reduced him to a grotesque by-product of Echidna's own experiments. Not that this development keeps him away from his research, mind you.

* BodyHorror: Used to be a regular member of the Gigas, is now a horrendous pile of shapeless flesh.
* BreathWeapon: One head spits out blue energy balls while another head breathes fire.
* MeatMoss: It's just a pulsating mound of meat with three faces, hanging from the ceiling.
* PublicDomainCharacter: Named after the Greek mythical creature of the same name, Orthrus is Cerberus' brother, a two-headed monster hound that guarded Geryon's cattle and was slain by Heracles. The actual in-game boss is anything but.
* NightmareFace: Three of them for the price of one. It gets worse as you damage it and its flesh films over its eyes and mouths.

One of Echidna's children, a woman riding a boar fought in the Hall of Malice.

* AnimeHair: The woman's long hair is in a perfect crescent shape. It almost looks like a tail.
* TheDividual: Technically two characters but treated as one, with both called by the same name. This could possibly be a nod to the original legend, where Phaia the boar was named after Phaia the woman. It could also be a way for the game to avoid the AmbiguousSyntax, as another telling of the legend stated that the Crommyonian Sow was a murderous robber woman, not a boar, who was called a sow due to having no manners.
* DualBoss: Becomes one midway through the boss, as the woman gets off the boar she's been riding on and the two begin attacking you separately.
* MindMeld: The woman and the boar share a consciousness. Apparently she gained this ability naturally, without use of the 3rd Children's chimera technology.
* NonIndicativeName: "Phaia" (or Phaea) is Greek for "grey". Neither components of the boss, the woman and the boar, are grey. This is because in the original legend, Phaia was the name of the old woman who raised the Crommyonian Sow.
* PublicDomainCharacter: Based off of the Greek mythical pig/boar Phaia, also known as the Crommyonian Sow.

* MixAndMatchCritter: A creature with the head of a woman and the body of a winged lion.
* PublicDomainCharacter: Based on a mythological creature that appears in Egyptian and Greek mythology. This Sphinx is primarily based on the Greek version, being one of Echidna's children, and having a feminine appearance and a ferocious disposition.

* PublicDomainCharacter: Ki-sikil-lil-la-ke is another name for Lilith, who is often interpreted as a female demon, who appears in Jewish, Mesopotamian, Arabic and Greco-Roman mythology and other biblical sources.

* DualBoss: Subverted. While you do have to fight both at the same time, Raijin only appears once Fujin reaches low health. After Raijin shows up, Fujin can be taken out pretty quickly so you don't actually have to fight both simultaneously.

* ElementalHair: Uses fire, has red hair. Even her hair catches fire.

* FrickinLaserBeams: In the remake.
