* InconsistentSpelling: "Star Swirl" and "Starswirl" have both been used. Since he was first named from a list of names pre-approved by Hasbro, the most obvious assumption was that his name is supposed to be spelled the same way as the toyline's Star Swirl. However, the credits of "[[https://derpicdn.net/img/2017/10/7/1554500/large.png Shadow Play]]" and "[[https://derpicdn.net/img/2018/8/4/1798156/large.png Friendship University]]" spell his name as "Starswirl", a single word without any dividing space.

* LegendaryWeapon: His shovel. Unlike Flash Magnus's shield, there doesn't seem to be anything particularly special or magical about it other than acting as a focus for his proto-Element of Strength, and in fact it wasn't even the shovel that he saved his village with (as it was destroyed in his ''Legends of Magic'' comic). It's legendary because it's his WeaponOfChoice and iconic item.

Per NeverLiveItDown. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic "Starswirl the Bearded is very often remembered as the guy who deals with villains by banishing them other dimensions and making them other people's problems to deal with. In canon, this only occurred on one of the three occasions where he dealt with a villain — he banished the Sirens in this manner, while he locked the Pony of Shadows outside of any dimension or time alongside himself and simply befriended Scorpan — but very often he remains remembered as the guy whose go-to solution for problems is to dump them in other people's backyards." So incorrect.

* TheAllSolvingHammer: He was solving '''every''' problem with magical beings by banishing them to the other place in his past. [[spoiler: Even his own friend and comrade.]] Which he heavily regrets now.
