House Wyl of Wyl is an ancient and feared house of northern Dorne. They, along with House Uller, are considered the most dangerous vassals of House Martell. Close allies and even former bannermen of House Yronwood, their fortress guards one of the few passes into the Red Mountains. Their current head is Wylis Wyl, better known as the Wyl of Wyl.

Located in the northern parts of the Red Mountains, House Aspys of Snakestone is a close vassal of House Wyl of Wyl, due to the closeness of their sigil, they are rumoured to be distantly related even. They are a house with a very dark reputation, known as honourless poisoners and opportunists, having a reputation almost as dark as that of their liege lords, the Wyl's. Their current head is Vyria Aspys.

The younger sister of Lady Vyria Aspys of Snakestone and older sister of Nymeria Aspys. Meria doesn't trust her or her kin, seeing them as poisoners and killers.

* BigSisterBully: In Nymeria's appearances in the story, it has been certainly implied that she left her home due to troubles with her family. Considering how Elia mocked the appearance of Ysilla, a woman she barely knows, it is more than likely that she was a driving force behind these family troubles.
* {{Jerkass}}: At least as of now, Elia is a very unpleasant person.
* OhCrap: She has such a reaction when realizing that Princess Meria was listening to her vicious talk with Ysilla Sand and another one when she noticed that she was not the slightest bit amused by it.
* SlutShaming: The very first time we meet Elia in the story, she tries to shame Ysilla for her rather thin choice of clothes, pretty much attempting to shame her for it.

Seeing no other option to save her life, she is even the first to bring up just cooperating with him, even if it'd leave Dorne without protection against the Targaryen dragons. In the end, she is forced to watch as her brother is murdered in front of her, unable to do anything to help him and is last seen sobbing desperately on the floor.
* DeadpanSnarker: Jenelyne is a very snarky person, something that notably sets her apart from her brother.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: In her partnership with Allar, she is clearly the foolish sibling, being carefree, all too willing to snark, or perhaps even flirt with Ysilla, who could have just as easily been a potential threat and less focussed onto their mission.
* ForcedToWatch: Yoreen Flowers forces her to watch as he executes her brother, which leaves her clearly traumatized.
* RedOniBlueOni: As the passionate, emotional sibling, she is the red oni to the stoic Allar's blue.
* ScreamingWoman: During the Chapter 3 finale, she is reduced to screaming in terror as Yoreen is about to execute her brother.
* SiblingTeam: With Allar.

A sellsword from Dorne and the older brother of Jenelyne, alongside whom he works as a sellsword. Serious and stoic, he is the one in charge. Both are currently working for Absidee of Lys.

* AccidentalMurder: While he doesn't seem too bothered by having accidentally killed Dylar Harking, his reaction makes it clear that he did not actually intend to do it either.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Allar is the responsible one to Jenelyne's foolish, as he is always focussed onto their task at hand, as well as stern and way less willing to chat with people they meet while on duty.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: At the end of Chapter 3 of Book 2, Allar is executed by Yoreen Flowers, who kills him by stabbing him through the heart with a knife.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Allar's attempt at luring Yoreen Flowers' scouts away from the camp causes him to stay away from his companions for several hours. Rightfully worried for his life, Jenelyne and Ysilla go and look for him, which ends with them and later Theodan too captured.
* PragmaticHero: While firmly loyal to Ysilla and Theodan, as well as generally a good man, Allar is deeply pragmatic and concerned with the survival of those he cares for first and foremost. As such, he is not above kicking the dog if it means they can get an advantage.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: A stoic, strict guard he might be, but Allar is not stupid and if given a good reason, he is actually very willing to let people pass his post despite having received orders to do the opposite.
* RedOniBlueOni: As the stoic, stern and humourless of the two, Allar serves as the blue oni to Jenelyne's red, whereas she is an outgoing, open and rather passionate woman.
* SiblingTeam: With Jenelyne.
* TheStoic: Allar's most prominent character trait is his stoic nature and lack of humour.

Rumoured to be the leader of the Sandstorm, Cage is a man about whom very little is known for sure. All that is certain is that he is, or has been, an influential figure among the Sandstorm rebels, one of the driving forces behind their violence.

* AxCrazy: According to a guard, Cage is absolutely insane and no matter wether this is true or not, he is definitely a violent man, instilling the same brutality in his followers.
* TheGhost: So far, Cage has not been seen, but his position as the supposed head of the Sandstorm means he is a much discussed figure in the street talk around Sunspear.
* ShroudedInMyth: Very little is known about him. He seems to have some history with violence and combat, but not even his greatest adversary, Landon Jordayne, has much knowledge about him, at least nothing he shares with the general public, for whom Cage remains a boogey man.
* UncertainDoom: A few weeks before the story started, Landon Jordayne reportedly hunted him own, returning his head to Sunspear. However, while some believe him to be dead, others claim that the Sandstorm was barely slowed down, indicating that a scapegoat took Cage's place to die, to lure Jordayne into a false sense of security and to allow the real Cage Bridger to still be out and leading the Sandstorm.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Though it is not seen in his introductory part, on account of the Point-of-View there being a blind woman, WordOfGod confirms that Landon has dyed his hair golden, in the fashion of the Tyroshi.

* IllBoy: While not particularly unhealthy, is quite unlikely he will live the same age as his mother.

* IllBoy: Ysilla notes that Yandry always looks a bit sickly.

* BaldWoman: As a result of being about eighty years old, Meria has lost most of her hair. Knowing that she's far from a looker anyways, she does not mind being bald.

* BadassMoustache: Landon has a thick chevron moustache.
