The only things that aren't black are its white eyes and teeth, the latter of which it happens to have a full set of (unlike the animatronic it is based on). Occasionally appearing in the office akin to Golden Freddy, looking at it for too long without putting on the Freddy head or looking at the monitor will force the game to close after it fades.

* TheBusCameBack: Shadow Bonnie has been absent in the series for quite a long time since ''3''. Finally, it appears in the ''Ultimate Custom Night'' as a bonus animatronic.

* TheCameo: It returns in ''3'' during the minigame after Night 4, but doesn't do anything as it's a hint on how to trigger the next secret minigame. During Night 5 a Shadow Bonnie figurine appears on the desk, clicking it triggers said [[PromotedToPlayable minigame.]]
* DiabolusExNihilo: Unlike many of the other animatronics and antagonists we got no explanation for Shadow Bonnie's existence. The ''Special Delivery'' hints that it's somehow connected to the "dark Remnant" that serves to summon it if you collect too much, but its true origin is left unknown (and even dark Remnant itself is something of an enigma).

* TheHeartless: ''Special Delivery'' and ''[[Literature/{{FiveNightsAtFreddysFazbearFrights}} Fazbear Frights]]'' both imply that it's an entity of negative emotions, mainly anger and agony. Just whose agony and/or anger caused Shadow Bonnie to be created is unknown. And considering it has glowing white eyes and teeth, it may actually contain a soul.
* InterfaceScrew: In ''Ultimate Custom Night'', if Shadow Bonnie enters your office, it turns off all the lights for about 8 seconds, meaning you can no longer see if there are animatronics nearby. The only thing you can see in the darkness are its teeth and eyes until it disappears and the lights turn back on.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: In ''Special Delivery'', not only are its "summoning" mechanics unique, but it's also fought via a unique method. Unlike the other animatronics, who attack randomly or when summoned with a lure, Shadow Bonnie attacks during the Remnant collecting minigame when you absorb too much of the shadowy Remnant. It's also immune to the effects of the Shocker; instead, you have to fight it by shining your flashlight on it.

* ArchEnemy: Could be considered one to William Afton: She's inhabited by the spirit of one of his victims (possibly his ''first'' victim), and in retaliation, she sticks the children's souls in the bots in order to get revenge. ''[[RoaringRampageOfRevenge Everything]]'' [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge that she did was in order to kill him]]... though it went a little beyond that when she tried to kill the other guards, essentially [[HeWhoFightsMonsters turning into the same thing as the person she was trying to kill: a murderer]].

* CharacterDevelopment: Implied, but noticible. In ''2'', she's just as hungry for security-guard blood as the others. Then she's implied to be in both ''1'' and ''3'''s locations, and makes no efforts to attack the nightguard. [[note]]People noticed carnival music and a secret door in the first game, theorizing it was there to keep her away. In the third game however, there's really nothing stopping her from killing you.[[/note]] She returns in ''Pizzeria Simulator'', implied to be hunting down Afton still, [[WellIntentionedExtremist even if she has to get through a nightguard to do it]], [[RevenantZombie though considering who the nightguard there is implied to be]], it's difficult to say if she can even kill him or tried to. She simply shushes them rather than taunting or threatening them like the others do. ''UCN'' has separate lines for both the Puppet and Lefty, and if you take them as indicators of how she acted in those stages, she became a lot more soft-spoken as Lefty, speaking kindly even to Afton himself, though it still feels like an ImpliedDeathThreat. Meanwhile, the Puppet's lines say she doesn't hate Afton anymore, [[GoodIsNotNice but she does enjoy seeing him suffer,]] [[TeamMom while vowing to protect the other kids.]] The novels also imply she became a lot more trusting after the fire, even working with a detective because she sensed he had a good heart. A far cry from the silent KnightTemplar she started as.

However, the Puppet is very slim, has an [[AmbiguousGender androgynous design]], and despite her dark color scheme, was designed initially as a [[DarkIsNotEvil security system for the pizzeria to ensure the well-being of the children in the establishment]]. Baby's body structure is huge compared to the Puppet and has a feminine design, and her initial purpose, down to her design, seems to be entertaining children, but [[BrightIsNotGood it's all to hide her true purpose: kidnapping and murdering children]]. Furthermore, [[spoiler:during her time as a part of Ennard in ''Sister Location'', Baby wore a human as a meat suit temporarily]], while the Puppet [[spoiler:wore another animatronic over herself in ''Pizzeria Simulator'']]. This even extends to their respective hosts: [[spoiler:Cassette Man's daughter, Charlie]], and William Afton's daughter, Elizabeth. While [[spoiler:Charlie]] still retained her desire to protect and save innocent children and the other victims from William, at worst, she evolved into a WellIntentionedExtremist KnightTemplar due to the many security guards she killed on account of mistaking their identities with her killer. Elizabeth, on the other hand, has been implied to have [[CorruptTheCutie been corrupted]] during her time as Circus Baby, and later, as [[spoiler:Ennard following her eviction from the entity by the other A.I.s and reformation]], resulting in her becoming the argubaly second-most evil animatronic in the franchise who desires to [[spoiler:[[DaddysLittleVillain please her "Daddy" by following in his footsteps]]]].
