* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:She was murdered by Shoe, and according to Edd, she's not coming back.]]

* In "The End Part 1": Throughout the montage of them doing their adventures, Tord constantly harms Tom. When the gang returns home, Tord asks if he can have his old room back, which now belongs to Tom. Tom loses his temper, tossing the couch through the wall and storming out after yelling at Tord about how he can take his room and the place was too crowded anyway. Edd wants to go after Tom, but Tord manages to persuade Edd to stay and catch up now that's he back. Matt suggests they all check out his toy collection, and Tord follows up by saying they should watch Return of the Insane Zombie Pirates from Hell 4. The animation ends with Edd saying "Just like old times, right?" and Tord responding with "Just like old times...", before closing the curtains with an evil smirk on his face.
* In "The End Part 2": Tord sneaks away from Edd and Matt and into his/Tom's old room. He flips a lever hidden behind a portrait of a button behind a portrait of himself, revealing a hidden room filled with advanced technology and weaponry. He goes to press a large button in the center of the room. However, before he can, Edd interrupts him. He pretends to be innocent and attempts to convince Edd the room is merely a laundry room, but Edd runs past and begins pressing buttons, causing objects around the house to come to life and start acting as weapons. Matt arrives, and joins Edd in pressing buttons. He attempts to press the large button (even though the big red button was also for The Giant Robot), but Tord punches him in the face in order to stop him. Edd becomes shocked when he sees Matt is visibly hurt, until Tord offers to take them for ice cream to make him feel better to avoid getting in trouble However, Edd starts to get suspicious about Tord, however, when Tom gets to the house, he catches Tord about to press the button and questions him about the hidden room and the wanted poster. Tord reveals that the large red button is merely to dispense his favorite hat, but then turns to press another button, dropping him into the cockpit of a robot, modeled after himself.

* BadassBaritone: His voice is lower than his present counterpart's.

* AsHimself: Up to Gould's death this was the case, but during the Eddsworld Legacy period Tom and Matt were changed to [[invoked]]TheDanza instead. When stepping down as the showrunner, Tom the character's VA Ridgewell made it clear [[http://thetomska.tumblr.com/post/141199544323/the-beginning that the characters at that point are separate entities from the actors]].
* AuthorAvatar: The main characters are based on Edd and his friends; Creator/TomSka, Matt and Tord.
* BadassNormal: Most of the time (though not every time), whenever they have to deal with serious or supernatural threats, they manage to deal with them without having any supernatural abilities whatsoever. For instance, in "Spares", the boys manage to defeat the many clones of them using simply guns, a baseball bat, and a golf club.

* FourPhilosophyEnsemble: Matt is the Optimist, Edd is the Realist, Tom is the Cynic, Tord was the Apathetic.

* AsHimself: Aside from the things mentioned in the gang's folder, in "Fan Service 2" Matt the character is implicitly a stand-in for Matt the real person. [[ZigzaggedTrope Although there is another Matt who acts and looks a lot more like the real Matt Hargreaves, while Eddsworld!Matt retains his comedic, narcissistic attitude. Eddsworld!Matt is still in charge, though.]]

* BrainlessBeauty: In later episodes, at least; he's shown to be vain, actually quite handsome, and not very bright.

However, when he time-travels to "Zombeh Attack", Matt, after having his arm bitten off, crawls to Future Edd for aid. Future Edd declines, saying that he does not want to create a paradox.

* AffablyEvil: Despite touting himself as an "EVIL" director, he's actually quite amicable to the boys, and goes after the clones to dispose of them rather than just leaving them to run amok.

* HarmlessVillain: Even though he gleefully calls himself "Evil Director", his scheme is to make his movie more commercially successful by the dishonest means of making four million clones.

* MadScientist: Created, among other things, a giant monster, a cloning machine, four million clones of Edd, Tom, Matt and Tord, and a giant robot.
* MesACrowd: Clones the main cast so his film is successful.

* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: One Tom clone expresses a desire to go shoe and kitten shopping. Subverted in that the other clones throw him in the trash for it.

* TheBusCameBack: They return in ''The End Part 1'', during the montage where the boys are recreating old memories to include Tord. Apparently, Commander Bai and his crew have been stranded on a small moon for a while and hitchhiking for a ride home.

A trio of unnamed ruffians who harass Edd and Tom in Surf & Turf Wars pt. 1.

* BaitAndSwitch: They trick Edd into eating a fake inflatable watermelon during a watermelon eating contest.
* HateSink: They're nothing but [[ItsAllAboutMe Selfish]], Jerkass, and [[TheBully Bullies]] who's always bullying Edd, Tom, and Matt, which makes the fans and audience hate The Bullies for their evil actions.

* ProneToSunburn: One of bullies have noticeably sun-kissed skin, and another who's seen with [[TanLines]] which reddened his skin.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: One of the bullies wears 3D glasses and another has blue-tinted goggles, both of which completely cover their eyes. They aren't really scary, but as antagonists, they are intimidating.

* TheBully: They very obviously are.

* CuteKitten: Edd adores her and for good reason.

** He's also possessed by Kate at the beginning of ''Trick or Threat'', unlike the other examples this is Downplayed as he's more of a victim than a villain.

* KillEmAll: The boys kill all of them except a single Matt clone.

** In "Hide and Seek", he hid in the fridge and appeared to be freezing to death and hallucinating living food.

* TookALevelInDumbass: In the later shorts. Explained in "The End: Part 1" as him suffering from self-inflicted amnesia.

* NotHimself: He's been zombified, turned into a vampire and possessed twice over the course of the show.

* BigNo: After Edd [[spoiler: attacks Future Edd with Tom's bass]].

* SourOutsideSadInside: Seems to be this, with his habit of randomly saying things like “Nobody will ever love me.”
