* CutsceneBoss: [[spoiler:He’s ultimatly this. Despite his desire to become the Absolute Evil, he foolishly didn’t take into account its power compared to his own, and is killed without any player input.]]

* BackFromTheDead: Her altar can resurrect the forces of the Alliance at will. In the third scenario, ''[[IncrediblyLamePun Grave Matters]]'', she plans to use the altar on the tombs of the three fallen heroes of King's Ending. Herself can resurrect at will, to the point that it finally feels sweet to kill her for good.

* YouCallThatAWound: If she dies she can be revived from the Dungeon after a brief period of time for a bit of Gold. When there isn't a Dungeon however then she'll die for good.

* InteractiveNarrator: Since he can narrate what's going on, he can occasionally narrate something else which becomes true regardless of circumstances, such as Thalya being attacked by bears from nowhere or lava suddenly flooding the Dungeon. Unfortuantely he's also immensely petty and has no problems impeding the player just because he's angry at Thalya.

* VillainHasAPoint: She's right when she spits back into Thanos' face the fact that his allies and friends always distrusted her even when she was good, with Grimli even badmouthing her openly, and he never did a thing to stop them. [[spoiler:Also, Tanos eventually admitted that he only cared for her because she was once living proof that he can make evil creatures good, though that may be the madness talking.]]

* DrunkOnTheDarkSide: [[spoiler:In ''4'', the Gauntlet of Finitude makes him even more unhinged to the point that at one point he's competing with Thalya over harvesting Evilness via raiding villages. He also [[Characters/MarvelComicsThanos becomes much bigger and gets purple skin]]]].
* {{Expy}}: He's a parody of Uther Lightbringer of the ''Warcraft'' series.

* HeroUnit: Much like Barton Snow from the last game, she is a unique unit who serves as the commander of your armies.

* {{Expy}}: An even more blatant one of Drizzt than Thalya. Tristan even wears green clothing and fights using a double-bladed sword in a clear reference to Drizzt's two scimitars.

* HeroicBuild: The Narrator describes him in shining, handsome chest accentuating armor. And Tristan certainly looks the part in the cutscenes.

* RememberTheNewGuy: He's Thalya's half-brother but was never mentioned until this game.

* ChurchGoingVillain: The Undead's only necessity is a temple, which they visit to pray. It allows them to grow in level beyond the third.

* CaptainErsatz: She's a parody of Jaina Proudmore from [[Videogame/WorldOfWarcraft the Warcraft series]] mixed with [[Franchise/SailorMoon Sailor Moon]].

* [[HalfHumanHybrid Half Goblin Hybrid]]: One of his ancestors was a Hobbit, explaining his ability to endure the Other Ring.

* [[OneManArmy One Monster Heroes]]: The Fire Wyrm can keep heroes busy for a while and even kill them if necessary.

* OperaGloves: Part of her ensemble.

* BladeOnAStick: His weapon is a well-crafted poleaxe with a red stone in it.

* BladeOnAStick: Living Statues wield a huge pike.

* MixAndMatchCritters: The Six-Legged monsters are part lion, part bull and have six legs. The Giant Frogs have a bit of AlluringAnglerfish in them.

* TheDanza: Named after the publishers of the game, could also be a TakeThatUs.

* TakeThatUs: Kalypso is not named after the nymph in the Odyssey, she's named after the publisher of the game.

* HotAsHell: The Lust Demons, appropriately enough, though Mistresses are always angry rather than horny and Dark Emperesses focus more on combat than seducing.

* WhipItGood: The Fire Angel.

* WhipItGood: Lust Demons use this to motivate workers. The Mistress uses her even in combat.

* CombatMedic: Succubi can kiss demons to restore their health. [[LesYay This works even with other Lust Demons]] [[ADateWithRosiePalms or even themselves.]]

* OurOrcsAreDifferent: Green, brutish, muscular... mark it as a no. They have the looks of Warcraft Orcs but the behaviour of Tolkienian Orcs.

* CaptainErsatz: They are a blatant parody of [[Videogame/{{Warcraft}} the Alliance]] as portrayed in ''Videogame/Warcraft3''.

* TalkingToHimself: InUniverse. When she gets into arguments when herself.

* BareYourMidriff: Her skimpy outfit doesn't cover her belly.

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: He'll ascend to the top of the Netherworld again by kicking everybody's asses.

* FiveManBand: This time too, the main heroes of the Empire form one counting all of them, in the following order:
** TheHero: Tanos the Paladin, the main antagonist of the story and the last one to bite the dust.
** TheLancer: Elric the Pretty, being the second to last to fall in the story and Tanos' disciple.
** TheBigGuy: Grimli the Dwarven King of Steelsmith, being the more physically-oriented member of the four and suffering from BigGuyFatalitySyndrome.
** TheSmartGuy: Yaina Overproud, the greatest witch in the Empire and queen of Dollaran, though it's kinda subverted by her personality.
** TheChick[=/=]SixthRangerTraitor: Thalya would have been the former, being a kind and soft [[MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch token Dark Elf]] raised by the Hero, but thanks to the Ultimate Evil, she became the latter and a VillainProtagonist.

* FiveManBand: Both the Heroes of the Alliance and the minor ones you face.
** TheHero: King Robert, who's in charge of the Alliance but is the first to die. / Paladins.
** TheLancer: Krowtoes the Demigod, who later on becomes the de facto [[TheLeader leader]] of the Alliance. / Warrior Princesses.
** TheBigGuy: Gurmli the Dwarven King, the most physically-oriented one. / Dwarven Warriors, Warrior Princesses and Elves.
** TheSmartGuy: Gandledore the Wizard, master of magic of the Alliance. / Bards and Wizards.
** TheChick: Gulundrull the Warden, the only woman among them and could also be a substitute Smart Guy after Gandledore's demise. / Pixies and Druidesses.
** TheSixthRanger: Prince Joffrey in the vanilla game and Meltysand the Priestess in the expansion set, who both join the party late.

* {{BFS}}: The Warrior's WeaponOfChoice. Of course, it's CompensatingForSomething.

* AnAxeToGrind: The Butcher.

* AnAxeToGrind: Pit Fiends wields humongous, fiery axes.

* HornyDevils: She's a Succubus after all... She can bewitch heroes, [[spoiler:seduced Marthas into changing sides]] and she tricks a Goblin into opening her cell door in the first level of the expansion.

* HornyDevils: The Lust Demons, appropriately enough, though Mistresses are always angry rather than horny and Dark Emperesses focus more on combat than seducing.

** HornyDevils: Succubae are back from the previous game, they can beguile heroes or fight from afar with magic missiles. They manage the Torture Chamber.

* BalefulPolymorph: She's first introduced turning a rebellious hero into a toad, and her factories produces a fog which turns heroes into sheep. In the last scenario her domain is guarded by towers which turn your monsters into sheep.
