* SelfDisposingVillain: In each of their face-offs, he actually obtains part of the treasure from Scrooge, only for his maniacal obsession to lead him to pull a VillainBall that costs him everything.everything:
** His first attempt to recruit the Beagle Boys ends with him obtaining the map to the treasure, but meets a roadblock as he refuses to pay them and [[DidntThinkThisThrough fully expected them to just work out of gratitude for releasing them from jail.]] The triplets end up stealing the map back as they argue.
** With Glomgold, he is at least smart enough to lie about sharing the treasure, though when Glomgold presses his BerserkButton by throwing away a coin, he turns on him. They fight over a cannon, causing it blast a hole in their ship and take the gold with it.
** In the final search, he once again uses Scrooge to find the treasure and tries to despose of him and the others in a vat of molten gold. The suspicion he is holding out another share of gold causes another scuffle however, and the molten gold to flow out of control and leave the temple a buried crater.

Scrooge's butler and chauffeur in ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'', who has actually also appeared in some non-Rosa comics. It should be noted that though Duckworth himself was a ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' creation, the idea of Scrooge having a butler ranges as far back as to Scrooge's first story, ''The Christmas on Bear Mountain''. Italian comics have a similar character named Battista as Scrooge's butler, and the Mexican dub of the animated series actually translated Duckworth as "Battista". Similarly, the Swedish comic names both of the characters as Albert.
