* TheAce: While it goes a bit under the radar; Silphymon never lost to another Ultimate-level digimon, and in fights where both are present, did not perform notably any worse than Imperaldramon, a Mega. Siplhymon notably oneshot Ladydevimon when forced to do so, who Angewomon; despite HolyBurnsEvil giving her a boost, could not defeat. This heavily implies Silphymon is an extremely powerful Ultimate-level.

* TheAce: Shakkoumon, like Silphymon, never lost against an equivalent-leveled digimon, and performed on par with Imperaldramon in most cases despite being only an Ultimate. He defeated MarineDevimon fairly easily, while the equal-ranked SkullSatamon needed Imperaldramon to go into Fighter Mode. Also, Shokkoumon's presence turned the tables notably against BlackWargreymon, to the point Paildramon and Silphymon went from mostly hapless to almost killing him.

* TransformingMecha: Imperialdramon's Mode Change from Dragon to [[HumongousMecha Fighter]] would do {{Transformers}} proud.

* AdaptationalWimp:
** Imperialdramon is referenced in the dub as being 3 times stronger than normal Megas but this dialogue isn't present in the original Japanese. It is played straight with Dragon Mode. In most fiction he's a reasonably powerful Mega, whereas in the series he's noticably weaker than Fighter Mode (who's normal form is comparable to the [=WarGreymon=] and whose infected version is overpowered by Rosemon and Vikemon), which would make him among the weakest partner Megas in the franchise.

* AwesomeButTemporary: In contrast to other Armor forms, Magnamon isn't a permanent member of Davis and Veemon's arsenal. The [=DigiEgg=] of Miracles only exists for brief periods of time for Davis to use, and all uses of it results in or is because of circumstances that wouldn't allow it to be used easily again. After it's initial use in fighting Kimeramon, it's returned to being the Crest of Kindness, which is lost once Ken uses it to destroy his base. When Seraphimon and Magnadramon recreate it to fight Cherubimon, it disappears once Cherubimon is deleted. And during the [[CrisisCrossover battle with Quartzmon,]] Magnamon quickly runs out of power, requiring Davis and Veemon instead DNA Digivolve with Ken and Stingmon straight into Imperialdramon.

* OurDragonsAreDifferent: He's a dragon-type digimon. Bipedal, blue, sometimes with wings (when he digivolves into ExVeemon).
