The sad part is that they repeatedly express their love towards him at the end of their program, but he never gets to see it because he never watches the show.

A kind and optimistic 14-year-old imp with a love for science and making friends.

Kazu's lifelong friend, a 14-year-old devil of unknown type. He's actually half-grindylow half-some invisible creature. Kind of deadpan and gloomy.

A self-conscious 15-year-old cyclops who likes to sew. She has a crush on Kazu, and is a lot stronger than she makes herself out to be.

* BerserkButton: Seeing Kazu get hurt sends her into a terrifying rage, so much so that the referee had to knock her out preemptively before she tried anything. Considering her SuperStrength her defining quality is also a consistent way to get on her bad side.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Very quiet and shy, but can also suplex Lavi and has strength that can rival Pandora's.
* CuteBruiser: Hitomi launches a monster tens of times her size into the air by slapping it.
* CuteMonsterGirl: An adorable, fashion-centric cyclops girl.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Among her collection of stuffed toys there is a life-sized Kazu doll, much to Pandora's surprise.
* FreakinessShame: She hates the fact that she possesses SuperStrength, mostly because a lot of other devils seem to consider it her defining quality rather than any of her more girlish features and abilities.
* GirlyBruiser: She'd rather not be involved in a fight, but she is utterly untouchable when she does get involved thanks to her SuperStrength. And that's while still being an unapologetic girly-girl obsessed with her crush and fashion.
* GirlishPigtails: In some of her appearances.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Her room is filled with all kinds of (moving) toys that she made herself.
* [[InnocentBlueEyes Innocent Blue Eye]]: Her one eye is blue in the colored illustrations, and she's generally a shy NiceGirl.
* MeaningfulName: Hitomi is Japanese for "pupil" or "eye".
* MusclesAreMeaningless: She's a fairly thin girl, but that doesn't stop her from hurling monsters ten times her size through the air with absolute ease.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's generally a quiet girl who prefers to not be the center of attention. After she wins the school's fashion show, she runs to Kazu for help because she can't handle being popular.
* SmittenTeenageGirl: Obviously admires Kazu very much (maybe too much).
* SuperStrength: Being a cyclops. She's rather ashamed of this.

A 14 year-old daemon first introduced as a player in the Hemlock Heart Nightmares.

* AscendedExtra: She's introduced as a minor character in Chapter 4 only to have the following four chapters devoted to one long story arc centering around her and her brother. Following the story arc, she's become a part of the regular cast.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: She has a very slim boyish build, wears her hair short, has a name that isn't exactly feminine-sounding, and gravitates more towards masculine-looking clothing.
* ButchLesbian: Heavily implied at least in Chapter 10, where she very clearly becomes absolutely smitten by Hitomi. She also doesn't express any interest in men.
* HopelessSuitor: She develops a crush on Hitomi, who only has eyes for Kazu.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Her choice of clothing and initial pair of glasses make her look rather unimpressive and beady-eyed. The moment she [[TheGlassesGottaGo removes her glasses]], revealing her [[WhatBeautifulEyes comely eyes]], and starts wearing something more stylish reveal that she can be quite the looker when she wants to be.

A 14 year-old [[OurVampiresAreDifferent nosferatu]] who is friends with both Ricket and Yahgie. He's from a powerful family but is rather laidback.

* OddFriendship: He gets along well with Yahgie despite the latter's colossal ego and blunt insensitivity.
* NonIdleRich: His family is apparently quite powerful and wealthy, but he would rather pursue his own career as a professional chef.
* SpoiledSweet: A friendly and laidback guy who happens to be the son of one of the setting's most powerful families.
* SupremeChef: If Yahgie's listed likes are any indication, Clarence is quite a good cook, being that he has aspirations of becoming a professional chef.
* WillfullyWeak: As a nosferatu, he actually has power that exceeds Pandora and even many of Methia's underlings. However, he's physically unimpressive most of the time because he refuses to drink another person's blood, which is what unlocks his full capabilities. [[spoiler:After being given blood ramen, Clarence shows off just how untouchable he is at full power.]]

* AlphaBitch: Silky, the president of the fashion club. Has a whole cadre of boy hangers-on, including her boyfriend, Lavi, who is just as self-centered as she is.

* WillfullyWeak: He's a coward who always seems on the verge of a nervous breakdown and freaks out at the sign of trouble, [[spoiler:but it turns out that it's not because he's fearful of his life. He actually possesses an as of unknown power than allows him to forcibly subjugate others, which he ends up having to resort to using against a group of Methia's henchmen when they try to dissect him. Judging by the state he's found in afterwards, he really hates what he's capable of.]]

* LovableCoward: Weak-willed and often asks Kazu for help, but he has the best interests of the school at heart.

* CoolPet: Has a bat that can transform into weapons by chewing game cartridges.

A general-admittance high school that's become something of a magnet for all kinds of mayhem.

The Skeleton gym teacher.
* DemBones: An animate skeleton, caused when someone dies with some great UnfinishedBusiness.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Skeletons give up their names when they come back. The school knows him as "skeleton sensei", "skeleton ninja sensei" (based on a rumor that he was a ninja in life), or Mr. 51. When he was alive, he was known as Rowan Redhorn.
* TheSpeechless: Skeletons literally have no voices, he has yet to communicate outside of body language.
* UnfinishedBusiness: Required to be a skeleton, but nobody actually knows what his deal is.
* WasOnceAMan: Well a Devil. [[spoiler:He's very heavily implied to have been the actor who played Kazu and Pandora's favorite TV Superhero, Devilizer]]

A 15-year-old MadScientist basilisk.

* AnArmAndALeg: After the bio project debacle, he's missing his right arm.
* ButtMonkey: Gyro gets repeatedly pummelled throughout the first chapter, culminating in becoming a TwinkleInTheSky and losing his arm. [[ManipulativeBastard He deserves every second of it.]]
* DepravedBisexual: Comes across as one, although it might just be a side effect of how weird he is.
* HornedHumanoid: Has a single, vertical horn.
* IdiotHair: In his case Idiot ''Horn''.
* LargeHam: Is very dramatic.
* MadScientist: After all, he is part of the Science Club, where everyone is as crazy as he is.
* MeaningfulName: Laemanctus is the name of a genus of lizards.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Besides suddenly popping up to smell Pandora's hair, he seems to like leaning over people.

* AwesomeMcCoolname: Tremolo '''Bloodstorm''' '''''Serpentlord'''''. Not his birth name, which was [[UnfortunateNames Hucklebrook Dumpstamper]]. After cutting ties with his family, he evidently decided to overcompensate in the other direction.

* KnifeNut: Upon her resurrection, she takes a knife from Kazu's house and is seen carrying it throughout Chapter 1.
* LightningBruiser: She's absurdly strong while also being quite nimble thanks to her relatively small physical profile, as seen in the Eggscram match.

* KnifeNut: [[spoiler:When set off, he seems to prefer cutting people apart with scalpels]].

* BlindingBangs: His hair covers his eyes, but they don't cover up the implied EyeScream of the two surgical scars leading up to where they ought to be. Whatever's there glints creepily at certain angles. [[spoiler:As it turns out, they hide his BlackEyesOfCrazy]].

* AdjustingYourGlasses: Horatio does it with what would be his wrist if his arm wasn't an enormous bug pincer.
