* IllGirl: She is afflicted with a deadly illness that she inherited from mother, forcing Neptool's [[WellIntentionedExtremist Actions]]. She is cured in Chapter 6 when Ion and her friends retrieved the gRNA virus from Zill.

* WeUsedToBeFriends: The ongoing conflict betweem the Tenmon and Chimon communities in the Dreamsphere and Neptool's manipulations have utterly strained their friendship despite their efforts. Thankfully, they are inspired by Ion's beliefs and they not only managed to repair the rifts between their respective communities, they even admit their love for each and get married.

* OverarchingVillain: As early as Chapter 3, she uses Nay as a middle man in order to manipulate Neptool in using the Neptron to free Nero. In chapter 6 and 7, she works alongside with Nero in achieve her goal of going back to her home dimension in exchange for freeing Undu and distablizing the Tenmon faction's cielnotron system. Thanks to Nero performing a 6th axis shift and Kanon being killed by the Tenmon, she succeeds in leading the Chimon against the Tenmon and she becomes the ruler of Ra Ciela as the Archbishop of the Chimon in Chapter 8, only to be foiled at the end by efforts of Nay and her remaining friends, using Ion's Oversight to perform a 6th axis shift to travel back to Chapter 7 to stop her. She later spends the rest of the chapters forced to work with Revelt although she is shown to have her own agenda. With Nero gone and Revelt dead, she enacts her plan, singing Class:EXSPHERE_NOSURGE in order to use the people of Ra Ciela as fuel to power Nay's song but due to the efforts of Nay and Tabou, she is again stopped and is imprisoned again for her efforts. Even then... she remains unshaken and it is implied she will remain a consistent threat in the future.

* NotSoDifferent: With Kanon. As both comment on it when circumstances has them cooperating with each other while up against Revelt's forces in order to help Ion.

* MisanthropeSupreme: She really, really hates people as she believes they are too obssessed with themselves to care about the greater good.
* NotSoDifferent: To Revelt. Both of them have established an oppressive government that controls the populace of Ra Ciela through a highly dependent power source (The Cielnotrons for Revelt and The Sharls for Zill.), both are utterly ruthless and have a great disregard for human life and both believed that only 1% of humanity is worthy of being alive in their own terms. However...

!Nero, Reon, Uliliya

Known as 'Reon' at first and then as 'Nero' eventually, her real name is 'Ululiya'. She is a being who was summoned and imprisoned by humans 5000 years ago. Her power was used 5000 years ago to teleport humanity away from a different dying planet to Ra Ciela. Her main wish is to be returned to her home world. Like Zillillium, Nero will use any means necessary to get what she wants.

* SadisticChoice:With all of her memories recovered, she is forced to either choose between staying with her lover (The Player) but doom her friends to die with Ra Ciela, or save them but she risks losing contact with the player, possibly forever. She chooses the later but it pains her to do so, with the player's last sight of her as the terminal shuts down is her crying her eyes out. If a save is imported to Ar nosurge, they successfully reunite.

* TheAtoner: For his role in forcibly bringing Yuuki Nei aka the Current Ion to Ra Ciela out of mere scientific curiosity, he is willing to send her back home and repair the damage that he has done. Unforturnately, he never get to finish his research due to his untimely death.

* StateSec - Her organization PLASMA is used by the Tenmon faction to supress any dissidents and brainwashing them at Palace Nyurokiel to feel blissfully happy and then to be used as Sharl Nests to fuel the second Cielnotron server.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Towards the Genom. Justifed on how she saw the Genoms kill her mother(the previous empress) in retribution to Revelt's actions.

* BigBadWannabe: Plans to use Nero in order to take control of the world, except he is unware that Zill and Nero are only using him for their plan.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: He purposedly discriminates against the Chimon citizens living in the Dreamsphere by neglecting to power the Cielnotrons powering their side of the barrier and is all too happy when he sees the Tenmon citizens' cielnotrons get destroyed by Kanon, knowing that they will be buying from his company in order to replace them.

* {{Expy}}: Of Infel from the Ar Tonelico series. Both of them have suffered trauma due to events that have happened in their past and both seek to accomplish an Assimilation Plot. However... Zill is far more ruthless individual than Infel could ever possibly be and not even her love for Undu could even more her pause to reconsider her actions.

* SugarandIcePersonality: While initially presented as a cold and stoic person, Ion's interactions with her reveal that she's also an All-Loving Heroine just like Ion.

* GreaterScopeVillain: Towards Zill and the Chimon. Via AllInTheManual, he was planning on retaking Ra Ciela from the humans through the Chimon and has directly clashed with Revelt and the Tenmon in the past, causing the death of the previous empress(the mother of Renall and Nay) in the process. He is also the one who came up with the [[AssimilationPlot Save Bezel Project]] and cooperated with the experiments that resulted in Kanon's DarkAndTroubledPast.

A political faction that places their faith in human technology and ingenuity. They developed advanced devices that allow humans to make use of song magic without needing the help of genom. Formerly a subordinate faction to the Chimon, the Tenmon rose in power due to the invention of Cielnotrons, eclipsing the Chimon and becoming the ruling faction of Ra Ciela. They take great pride in being free of ancient traditions imposed by the Chimon.

The Leader of the Tenmon Faction and the father of Renall and the Original Ion (Nay). A ruthless and ambitious man who wants nothing but to secure his position and seeks the death of all genoms in Ra Ciela.

* HannibalLecture: Towards Nero as he bluntly tells her that she will always be considered a disposable tool by everyone in Ra Ciela before forcibly and painfully controlling her mind in order to figure out the coordinates for a new planet for his escape. This has dire conquences even after his death...

* HeManWomanHater: As if to further the point that he's a dick, he comments to Renall on how problematic her gender is when discussing a possiblity that she may be his successor and his idea of "convincing" a little girl like Cass to join his side is that she would make "valuable breeding stock".
* Hypocrite: Says that he wishes to free the people of Ra Ciela from being too dependent to the genoms, except he and his cielnotron system does the same thing to an even worst extent.

* IfICantHaveYou: After escaping from Renall's custody. He forces the sharls to go powering the Cielnotrons of Ra Ciel to go berserk, knowingly causing an even worse cielnotron panic while he and his followers escape to the circle of power at the Earthen Shaft, in order to capture and force Nero to show him the coordinates to a new planet and forcibly order Zill to sing Que1l->EX[cez]->{kranz}; ensuing that he and his faction escapes to the new planet while damaging Ra Ciel and dooming the rest of the populace as a rest. The first was stopped thanks to the efforts of Ion and her friends and allies without any major problems but the second finally has Revelt and his faction dying but at the cost of the lives of Clacket, Kanon and Cosal and hastening Ra Ciela's demise.
* KarmicDeath: He and his faction are absorbed and turned into energy by the very cielnotron he's used to fuel their gateaway and caused the death of Kanon and Cosal.

* SmugSnake: Whenever he's present in a scene, he speaks with a tone of utter distain to both his allies and enemies and loves to proclaim his superiority to them.
* UngratefulBastard: His daughter Renall chooses to spare him and have him live the rest of his life in forced retirement despite knowing all of his horrible crimes. He later repays her by having her be brutally beaten by his goons and later be used as an expendible power source to fuel he and his faction's gateaway to another planet.
* VillainHasAPoint: He and the Tenmon rightfully consider the [[AssimilationPlot Save Bezel Project]] as a plot by the Genoms to destroy humananity and regain control of the planet.
* VillainousBreakdown: Being desposed by Renall sends him into a maddened and desperate state in Chapter 11, willing to pull off a IfICantHaveYou plot against everyone and the planet itself if he is no longer on control.
* VillainousLegacy: Despite his death, his actions utterly worsens the fate of Ra Ciela and everyone on it. His attempts to escape to a another planet hastens the demise of the Ra Ciela, his actions result in the deaths of Clacket, Kanon and Cosal, causes most of the populace to develop a FantasticRacism towards the genoms, and his HannibalLecture towards Nero corrupts her into thinking HumansAreBastards, driving her to ruin the Planetary Migration Plan and make Ra Ciela's sacrifice a senseless one, forcing the people of Ra Ciela to live in the Colony Ship Soriel in search of Ion. All of these still have disastrous effects that reververate in the [[VideoGame/ArNosurgeOdeToAnUnbornStar sequel]]....

* ParentalSubsitute: To Sarly, Casty and Kanon. He considers them his own family due to earlier neglecting and abandoning his own family for the sake of his scientific exploits.

* WellIntentionedExtermist - In order to get the gRNA virus to cure his beloved daughter Sarly. He is willing to resort to villianous actions such as kidnapping and threatening Cass' life in order to force Griecoff's cooperation in completing the Neptron.
