In Castle, he owned the island that the thread took place on.

* AGodIAmNot: His powers have progressed through years of careless honing to the point that he can [[CreatingLifeIsBad create bastardizations of life]] in his hands. When he first learned he could do this, he lost his mind and actually started to act inhumanly apathetic, [[EldritchAbomination like the real deal]].
* TheAllegedSteed / CoolHorse: As is standard for a nobleman of his standing, he has more than one horse. His ‘bad’ and first horse, Nilas, despite coming from respectable warhorse breeding stock, cannot handle loud noises, unfamiliar objects, children, saddles, harnesses, or anything that would allow her to be put to work. * MayflyDecemberRomance: He's had nine human wives over his 2,500 years on Earth.
* PapaWolf: He rarely gets angry about anything, but harming any one of his ten wives, forty-one children[[hottip:*:Yes, really. None of them have seen any more than four of his other children.]], or tens of hundreds of grandchildren is one of the few things that will do it instantly.
* RealityWarper: His main ability is particle manipulation, which basically means that he can break apart and reconstruct almost anything on the subatomic level. It, however, is powered by energy in his surroundings rather than his soul, which makes it technically not magic.
** PersonOfMassDestruction: Once caused his own version of the Tunguska event in his original castle's backyard while heavily intoxicated on [[DrinkOrder Jack Daniels whiskey]].
** PhysicalGod
** UnskilledButStrong: A weird case that he combines with SquishyWizard. He gets knocked around easily, but never suffers any lasting damage or impediment as a result.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: A distinctive trait of his family, the Medici-esque Anakali clan. He’s generally quite affable.
* RenaissanceMan: Has extensive experience in no less than fifteen different disciplines that run the gamut from astronomy, chemistry, microbiology, anatomy, and genetics to the culinary and visual arts, architecture, history, philosophy, and sociology. * TheSouthpaw: A fairly standard trait of his family.
* SuperWeight: He's at a five in most threads, but prefers not to use his powers to their fullest extent. The thing nesting in his chest that gives him his powers is nominally at a six, and both become sevens within (and only within) their interdimensional nests, which can be completely customized down to laws of physics.

* GreenEyes: A pale, misty shade.

* LastNameBasis: Both are like this to one another. Their relationship is strictly formal, strictly business. Though they have similar interests and goals, they just don't get along on a personal level.
* NaziNobleman: He joined the party for two reasons only- to draw attention away from his family, and to gain access to the best doctors that money could afford for his ovarian cancer-stricken wife, not because he supported their ideals or anything.
* PerpetualSmiler: More often than not, he's either smiling or seems generally at peace no matter the situation.

* EvilEye: One that's trichromatic and sends spirits away. And happens to look creepy.
* FarmBoy: Used to be one, no matter what he says.
* TheHunter: Of rogue demons and ghosts.

* SomebodyElsesProblem: His life philosophy. In Carnival's narrative, he frequently mentions other people in his life whose job is to look further into the non-ghost matters he encounters, such as the weird flowers (Raphael and Lien), 'Evan' ([[ProfessionalKiller Matt]]), and the overall strange feel of the carnival ([[WeirdnessMagnet Vince]]).
* TeensAreMonsters: He gets a little less callous over the course of Carnival, it seems.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He does not like automobiles because he thinks the interaction between the gasoline and the car's mechanisms will make it explode. Considering that he came from a rural village that didn't even have running water or electricity, this should come as no surprise. But strangely, he took to the internet and electricity like it was nothing.

* {{Bishounen}} / OlderThanTheyLook / HotDad: None of them aged past their late teens, plus they're all fathers.
* TheFairFolk: They're part fairy.
** OurFairiesAreDifferent: Blue, red, and purple eyes, in addition to small, yet realistically human stature are the telltale signs here. They live in monarchial colonies, they have wings, HiveMind tendencies, HairAntennae- the Clines' are less pronounced -and have traditionally been known to sirens as an emergency winter food source. Their magic applications are of the general 'fuck shit up' variety. They also tend to take on the traits of whatever they spend the most time around; in the case of the Clines, becoming more humanlike and less faean.
* FreudianTrio: Matt's TheKirk, Eli's TheMcCoy, and Rafi's TheSpock.
* MistakenAge: All of them stopped aging in their late teens- Matt at 19, Eli and Rafi at 17 -so as they get older, this is kind of inevitable.
* SameSexTriplets: They're fraternal, though.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: All three would have ended up looking exactly like their old man if they were given ten or fifteen more years to age.

* DrinkOrder: Has one for every character he's played. He claims that it helps him get into the character.
* {{Expy}}: Of Matthew Murdock, AKA {{Daredevil}}, with some [[Anime/DarkerThanBlack Hei]]-esque aesthetic mixed in.
* FakeNationality: In-universe, obviously. He's played a lot of Americans and Sicilian mafiosi.
* GallowsHumor: Most of his jokes. When he was sick for long periods of time, he used dark, self-deprecating jokes either to harass medical personnel or make light of his situation, usually the former.
* HatesSmallTalk: He just dislikes social situations in general.
* IllBoy: Was one due to [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoplastic_left_heart_syndrome a severe heart valve defect,]] which was fixed when he was seventeen thanks to a heart transplant. In Chatroom II, he entered about a month before this transplant occurred.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Daisuke. Matt likes his intelligence and insight.

This made him ''valuable'', to his surprise, and he was hired into the UN agency responsible for the control and policing of orbital and near-orbital weapons to help them fight their battles against people seeking to hijack orbital weapons, as well as test new equipment for that purpose.

* BattleCouple: His and Linna's first date was interrupted by a waitress Boomer going berserk. He's openly admiring of the way she handles herself during the ensuing battle.
* CharacterAlignment: Slides back and forth between LawfulNeutral and NeutralGood depending on circumstance and perceived seriousness of the situation/threat.
* CombatPragmatist: Close combat is for people with death wishes. Sit three blocks down the street from them and blast away. Shoot people with guns meant to stop combat androids. Shoot combat androids with guns meant to stop tanks.

Linna tries to keep the halves of her life separate and tends to come across as normal to the point of superficiality when she's being the non-armored version of herself.

* DatingCatwoman: How she views her relationship with Sanderson, because she knows that it's exactly how the rest of the vigilante team she's part of would view it if they knew.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: Unless she's deliberately put her power armor on it tends to hang around her like some kind of mechanical stalker. [[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane It could be the armor's rudimentary AI]], but the more Linna thinks in terms of her night job and the less like her day job, the less the armor makes itself visible.
* TheMasqueradeWillKillYourDatingLife: Something that genuinely scares Linna as possibility, and as such she is trying with increasing desperation to avert.

* AbsentAliens: His home universe runs this trope, but he finds the existence of aliens barely worth commentary usually.
* AbsurdlySharpBlade, via SharpenedToASingleAtom: Steelheart's mono-edged automatically-adjusting blade, which cannot be dulled or broken by contact with the cutting edge, is probably the ''least'' of the things it can do.
* AugmentedReality: Something else Steelheart has been touched on as doing.
* BioAugmentation: A relatively small version, intended mainly to toughen him up for the cybernetics, which if just dropped in an unaugmented human would kill them in a relatively short period through rapidly accelerated wear and tear.
* TheChainsOfCommanding: "I am the commander, and I am not allowed to fall apart." Always have a can-do attitude and a readiness to lead; even when you don't. Other emotions are something done in private.
* ChildSoldier: He enlisted at 12, spent a year in training, went to active duty at 13. And will defend to the death the fact that the Bureau does so, because they take care of their child soldiers so they will grow up sane and well-adjusted regardless.
* CombatPragmatist: One of the features that defines him to many people who've seen him fight is his willingness to do ''anything'' when not constrained otherwise by the rules of engagement.
* {{Cyborg}}: Unlike most such designs in fiction, he can expressly pass for human unless he's given an X-ray or weighed; he's roughly twice the weight he should be from body type. Aside from that, even poking or prodding him isn't going to give away what he is. Recently converted; not because his injuries made him unable to serve, but because he could get back into action quicker and serve better once he did. He was the test case for conversion. Apparently, he passed.
* KnightInSourArmor: He has occasional bouts with this, or something like it; his own description is "fears, rage, and despair". Due to TheChainsOfCommanding, he's usually careful to do it without an audience.
* SwissArmyWeapon: There is very little that Steelheart cannot do, via advanced dimensional mechanics allowing it to change shape or even swap out one form for another, and an onboard AI.
* SufficientlyAdvancedTechnology: And magic. It's not clear where the line between the two is drawn when dealing with Samuel.
