Darkly, the Yeerks are similarly overjoyed to infest new bodies, and to experience things like sight and locomotion that they don't have as inches-long slugs that slosh around in pools of grey liquid.

** The process of morphing is a visually terrifying experience, but the actual morphs themselves are often a good deal of fun to test-drive. Of course, some of the more stressful adventures in these forms end up being so traumatic that the Animorphs opt to never try them again if they can help it, but the thrill of morphing a bird and flying never gets old.
** Tobias came from a broken home and was very eager to escape his troubles by flying. He ends up in ModeLock as a hawk at the end of the first book, and despite his sadness over losing the power to morph and his human identity, he's ''still'' far happier as hawk than he ever was as a human. Later, he regains his morphing ability with help from the Ellimist, and while he still prefers his hawk form, he likes being able to interact with people on a human level and help out on missions again.
** As the war progresses, the Animorphs make the difficult decision to recruit a number of disabled teenagers on the grounds that the Yeerks [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain won't want to infest handicapped bodies]]. As ShapeshiftingHealsWounds, many of these Auxiliary Animorphs are overjoyed to have fully functional bodies again once they demorph; for those of them who were born with their conditions and thus can't be healed, being in a fully-mobile animal body for up to two hours is still glorious.

* TransformingConforming: they're nearly overwhelmed by the colony's HiveMind, losing their sense of who they are and what they're doing. Afterward, they resolve not to try ant morphs again.
** The first time the team morphs wolves, Rachel pointedly asks if Jake (the only one who morphed a male, to avoid the possibility of him and Marco fighting for dominance) drank too much soda before leaving. He sheepishly answers that the wolf's instincts are pushing him to pee against every tree they pass.
** When morphing cattle to infiltrate a Yeerk-run meatpacking plant, Ax and Tobias inadvertently acquire steers (castrated male cows). But since ShapeshiftingHealsWounds, the team ends up with two large, very territorial, very aggressive ''bulls'' staring each other down and about to charge each other.
** Played for laughs whenever the team morphs seagulls, as they spend the entire trip excitedly pointing out trash and half-eaten food below. Tobias (who's trapped in the form of a red-tailed hawk) complains that he's losing street cred with his fellow raptors by hanging out with scavengers.
** In Megamorphs 3, most of the group acquires a [[UsefulNotes/TyrannosaurusRex T. rex]]. After running into a triceratops, they notice one of them is ripping the triceratops apart, do a quick headcount... and realize it's ''Cassie'' of all people who's lost herself in the morph (presumably out of stress at being stuck millions of years in the past with no way back, and with two of her friends missing). After she snaps out of it, she still feels remorse for a while.
** While trapped in the Arctic, two of the team morph wolves and the other fleas so they can travel faster. After finding a dead seal, Marco asks if Jake and Ax (riding him as fleas) want to demorph in order to eat, only for them to awkwardly admit they already ate.
** When Cassie morphs a Yeerk and goes into the Yeerk pool, she catches herself feeling that she's home (Yeerks need to return to a pool every three days or they starve) and mentally slaps herself to stay focused on her mission.

** A lot of dramatic tension comes from the fact that while the Animorphs ''could'' alert the world to the Yeerk invasion, removing the need for secrecy and combat that takes a toll on their psyche, doing so would cause an open war with the Yeerks that they cannot win: as Ax once explained, the Yeerks have [[OrbitalBombardment the capacity to incinerate the atmosphere from orbit]], not to mention alien shock troops and space-capable fighters that vastly outperform modern jets, while the team can... turn into animals. Towards the end of the series, the Yeerks do launch open war, and suddenly the casualties are higher in a single book than all the previous ones combined.
** An early story has the team morph a wolf pack to travel through a forest. When they run into a real wolf pack guarding a dead rabbit, Tobias urges them to run because the Yeerks are coming, but Jake tells him they can't, as this might cause the other wolves to attack. Tobias resolves the situation by snatching the dead rabbit away, focusing the wolves' attention on him and allowing the team to flee.
** After he suffers ModeLock in the first book, Tobias lives on canned food provided by his teammates so he doesn't have to live like an animal. He ends up doing so anyway as his hawk instincts keep pushing for him to stake out a territory and hunt for food, and this gives him a unique perspective on life (which saves him on several occasions when he has to hide the fact that he's not an ordinary human).
