So... anything in this index can only be discovered by going to Darth Wiki and discovering this index, right?
I don't understand how to create a page for my work.
Hide / Show RepliesI can't seem to change the page to reflect the name of the work I'm trying to put info up on.
Never mind. I basically screwed up and didn't realize you literally meant modify the text 'Your Work Name' on the link. I have since managed to correct that, but don't know how to blank the original link. Can someone fix that please?
Been wanting to make an Unpublished Works page for some (obviously) unpublished ideas of mine and I wanted to know (because I haven't seen it mentioned explicitly anywhere) - because it's against the rules to make subpages like Character Sheets, Fridge, YMMV, Nightmare Fuel, etc, would it still be OK if I instead make folders (on the main unpublished work page) that essentially serve the same purpose as the subpages but without breaking the rules of Unpublished Works?
Btw, not trying to invoke any sort of "loophole abuse", so to speak, just trying to figure this out. I mean, personally, I'd find it much easier to do this for the sake of neatness, but if, for example, making a folder named "Characters" and basically detailing it how you would a character sheet isn't allowed either, I understand completely and will follow the rules.
Sorry for all the clutter above,
~ lexxybaby
Edited by lexxybaby (Lukas | he/him) Hide / Show RepliesFolders can be used, yeah.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHow exactly does one go about creating an unpublished works page, or how to use the folders that lexxybaby is suggesting using. Can someone provide an example of how to do this?
Um... so basically this can be used as a place to pour my own ideas on my work as a reference of what I should put on later to the work before publishing it? Or no?
How many unpublished works of ours can we list here? (I've got five at the moment, two are Expanded Universe works).
Since subpages aren't allowed, separate pages?
Hide / Show RepliesI'm sure you can make as many separate "Unpublished Works" pages as you want. However, if you're going to make character, trivia, or YMMV sheets, I suggest that they are individual folders within the appropriate main page. If some of the series are connected via an Expanded Universe, just reference them normally though blue links.
Thank you. Only asked since someone said it was two on here, so was trying to keep within the rules.
Christ on a BIKE there's a lot of these. Should we prune it down to the most interesting ones somehow?
Hide / Show RepliesI think that'd alienate a lot of people with their concepts and worldbuilding on this page. I know for sure that I'd be a bit distraught if I came here to find my stuff suddenly missing for not being "interesting" enough. I'd say leave it alone since it's a good place for people to put their concepts before everything is ready (especially for someone like me who can't decide whether or not they want their concept to be a webcomic or writing).
Edited by SilvieSkydancerI'm confused. By "Don't make subpages", do you mean No more Unpublished Works, or am I not allowed to put my own under the Unpublished Works name?
"That is hard to argue or agree with." ~Penny Hide / Show RepliesNo, it means you aren't allowed to make YMMV, Characters, Trivia or other such subpages.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman"Do not make subpages for unpublished works. It makes them look like part of the main wiki."
I'm confused by this. Every single work listed here DOES have its own subpage...
Hide / Show RepliesThat is not what "subpage" means. The Darth Wiki work page doesn't count.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAre we allowed to add pictures to our Unpublished Works pages? My works are still unpublished, but I have pictures of the characters on my computer.
Hide / Show RepliesI do not see a problem with doing so.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI have several roleplays, some of which are quite big, on two petsite/RP site hybrids. They're technically readable by others, but only if said other people have signed up to said petsite. Is this considered published? Do pages for that go here, on Troper Works, or elsewhere?
And would it change the answer If I put any of these Roleplays in a googledoc to show others who are interested in reading but haven't signed up?
Sorry if any of these questions are stupid/have glaring obvious answers. I'm not really on the editing end of tvtropes much.
(As for the work I already have on here, I have another question- it's embarrassingly bad, I hate the story now, and I want to remove the page. How do I go about this? Just delete it off the index? Or is there something else I need to do too?)
Thanks in advance!
Hide / Show RepliesGreetings,
Works that you have to sign up to read count as published. After all, one usually has to buy books that are published and pay for them, too.
A truly Unpublished Work of your own you can remove through the Cut List, explaining that it's your work and why you want to remove it. If it's published, though, please leave it - see The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhy is the character sheet for dark fantasy x keeps disappearing. Is it vandalism? Even the history is gone.
Hide / Show RepliesBecause we don't do subpages for Unpublished Works anymore.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCould works that have been copyrighted but not yet published be allowed for articles on the Unpublished Works page on the Darth Wiki section of TV Tropes? I have paid the fee for Copyrighting my work, but haven't published it anywhere yet.
Hide / Show RepliesYes.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI have more than one unpublished work , I've made a single page for them and made folders for each of the story's tropes, but I've been expanding them a lot and only one page isn't enough. Can I make three separate pages for all the works or is one the limit for each Troper?
Hello! Hide / Show RepliesNope, you can make three separate pages.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Quick question, I'm writing a story and chapter one is published and on the web, but the story isn't finished yet. Should it go here or on the main namespace?
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND) Hide / Show RepliesYou can make a page here and list tropes for the whole story, or you can put it in the appropriate medium namespace and list tropes for the first chapter (nothing speculative, Word of God/future, etc.). If you do make the page here, feel free to move it off when you think there's enough that it can be troped based only on what's published.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. To what extent would a musical artist be considered "published"?
Hide / Show RepliesIf they've got a You Tube channel with some work then they're published. Is that the kind of answer you're after?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Just like how you put entry in other index.
I'm in good mood, so I done it for you. :)
Edited by KuruniCalll me a total n00b but, what I have to do to create a page and then submit it here, do I have to go to YKTTW first?
When you learn to cope with despair, a new gate of possibilities opens to you Hide / Show RepliesNo. YKTTW is for trope pages; Work Pages Are A Free Launch. You can start a page for an Unpublished Work of yours and add it here without needing permission or the page needing reviewing or something.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Thank you very much.
When you learn to cope with despair, a new gate of possibilities opens to youForgot to tell you that I added my own works here.
One of them, I'm hopeful that will leave my imagination still this year.
As for the other, it's just something silly a soccer dork like me could come up with.
One Nation Under WiFihttps://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DarthWiki/Meftytjory My friends and I are trying to make this series famous. We've actually produced plenty of artwork and such for this, but it's still not officially published, nor is the animated series yet ready.
In Eternity, even the rarest of events has a chance to happen.I just finished my work. (Well, the first part, anyway.) How do I get it to the actual troper's works page?
The following sig has been censored due to copyright. Hide / Show Replies(Note: To come off this index, your work must be actually published, in the sense of it exists in other places than your house/computer. This can be as a book/DVD/whatever teh normal medium would be, or just online — even on somewhere like Fanfiction Dot Net.)
Take it off the index here, copy the page to the proper namespace (probably Literature/, as that's what most works here are), either cutlisting the DarthWiki/ page or making it a redirect. Then put it on the Troper Works index, along with whatever genre indexes it fits in. You are now allowed to crosswick it and link to it from other wiki pages. Well done on finishing!
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. Thanks and yeah, It's uploaded on Fi M Fiction right now.
The following sig has been censored due to copyright. Is it bad to put YMMV tropes on these? I think I've been getting some flack for it.
Hide / Show RepliesIt doesn't really matter. If your work was published, then adding YMMV tropes is discouraged, but for these pages I doubt anybody really minds. It's fine to create a YMMV tab to put those tropes on if you want to.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Okay so it is for works that you have but are not offically published then. How to i make my own page because ive looked around and people and telling me different things
Hide / Show RepliesGo to https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DarthWiki/TheTitleOfYourWork and click "edit" to create the page. When you have written it, link to it from this page.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. Can we coment other tropes works and ideas put here?
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe. Hide / Show RepliesI don't think so. There's no actual work, so there's nothing to discuss, really.
The content could be discussed, though, as I see it: character, "why X trope and not Y trope," setting, different interpretation. Gives the author even more of a chance to discuss their work (which may just help its Unpublished status).
Yeah. Bacause I wish to have possiblity to coment on some unpublished work if I see something interesting. Also It would be cool if someone comented about my concepts.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.I'd be happy to, DeathCloud. Is there a link you can provide to your concepts, or a forum thread?
Edited by punkreaderI was just thinking this. I wrote a lengthy and reasonably complex story on this page titled "Homage", and I've been working on the trilogy for years. I notice this page as a way of getting it known, and nothing happens.
In Eternity, even the rarest of events has a chance to happen.https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DarthWiki/CartoonCrossoverSpaceOpera
(I don't know if I could make forum tread about that).
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe. So wait, is this a place where us tropers can basically put our own fanfic descriptions and tropes that fit them? I'm just trying to clarify - if that is, I'm surprised there's not a ton more fanworks on this listing.
Also, is it only for fanworks that exist in our heads for now, or can they be ones that we've posted on fanfiction.net and such?
Edited by WarriorSparrow Hide / Show RepliesIt's for anything you've written that isn't an officially published and distrubuted work, as far as I know.
In Eternity, even the rarest of events has a chance to happen.https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DarthWiki/OneTrackMind
I've also been hoping for feedback, and perhaps some spotting of the page's writing. Perhaps this will do the trick.

I've been hoping for feedback on this. Perhaps this post will incite it.
In Eternity, even the rarest of events has a chance to happen. Hide / Show RepliesMy addition to the unpublished works... check it out, or something. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheChroniclesOfNickel
My new account at: Eventua
If one of these works gets published, does that mean that the Darth Wiki page should be moved to the appropriate namespace? And if so, how would that happen?
