I'm thinking we should add a separate subsection for variants on the characters from the "Classic" timeline that was established post-Sonic Generations. Classic Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy are currently treated as being distinct characters from their main timeline counterparts, so I think we should group tropes that apply only to those iterations of the characters into separate entries rather than listing them under their main universe counterparts.
Ok...so is there really a reason for a Neutral character page?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I hope know one mind my edits for Shadow and his badass tropes. I tried to be as unbiased as possible.
Huh.... it seems the only Final Bosses that we have anywhere on here are Black Doom and Chaos. Where are Solaris/Biolizard/Gaia/Time Eater/etc.
Edited by Voyd211 Hide / Show RepliesNo one added them yet. If you want to do it, go right ahead. This is a wiki, after all.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. How about Sonic The Hedgehog Various Characters, for more obscure ones who don't need their own page?
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DHow about Sonic The Hedgehog Various Characters, for more obscure ones who don't need their own page?
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DExactly why is Big in the Neutral Characters section? Big sticks out like a sore thumb in that he does not have some level of antagonism to the heroes like the others do. Also, if Big was on the Other Protagonists section, I could make a section for Team Rose.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. Hide / Show RepliesHe is only in it for himself outside of the Non-canon Sonic Chronicles. Also, he attacked Tails in Adventure, and the entire trio in Heroes.
Edited by miru I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DShadow needs some of Batman and Vergil's tropes.
Hide / Show RepliesYou know like Badass abnormal and Kickyourass stuff.
Plus Shadow is a jerk with a heart of gold.
Shadow's not a Badass Abnormal, since he's always had "superpowers".
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I think Black Doom is actually more of a Neutral Evil, while I can definitely see Eggman being Lawful Evil.
Why did they burry the fireman behind the tree? BECAUSE HE'S DEAD!I'm a little miffed that the last three times I tried to add Ray the Squirrel to this page, his entry got nuked. Oh, come on! He's a playable character in the old Segasonic Arcade game (the one with the trackball!), and is a support member of the Chaotix in the Archie Comics series (And featured prominently in Fiona Fox's, Mighty's, and Sonic's backstories in the comic adaptation of said arcade game)!
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! Hide / Show RepliesI can't speak for his comic appearances (I haven't kept up on the series in years), at least in the games (which is the focus of this page) he's like a footnote rather than a major character. Then again, I've tried to nuke one-shot game characters a few times now (see above discussion); at the very least, we should be consistent and either keep everyone or nuke everyone. Maybe you should insert Ray into the Chaotix section rather than giving him his own?
Edited by DragonRangerI think some characters could stand to be cut, like Elise, Chip, Black Doom, and Mephiles. Each of them only showed up in one game, and I get the feeling they're never going to be seen again. The page is long enough just covering the recurring cast.
Hide / Show RepliesSo what? All of the aforementioned characters had a major role in the plot of the games they appeared in, so there's no real reason why they should be cut from the page.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. That's probably a better argument that character pages should be made for the games in which those characters appear. You have to admit that this one is really overly long.
See you in the discussion pages.I wouldn't go so far as to make multiple character pages when most of the stuff is covered here. I mean, a characters page for Unleashed as I understand it would be Sonic, Chip, Eggman, and Orbot; Chip's the only one not part of the recurring cast (Orbot is returning in Colors, and I can definitely see him and Cubot becoming permanent fixtures as Eggman's minions). Separate character pages for major alternate continuities are a good idea (I'm thinking one for the Archie comic and maybe SatAM, and one for Sonic X), but not for every game.
While we're on the subject, I'll throw a few more names out there: Nack, Emerl, and Shade. If we do elect to cut one-shot characters, I'm on the fence about these three. Nack has appeared in a few games but he hasn't been seen in a while. Emerl's appearances are sporadic and technically isn't the same guy every time, but the fact that he's appeared in Sonic X helps his case. Shade has been in only one game but I can easily see her graduate to recurring status after Chronicles 2, if/when it comes out.
How can someone even be The Wesley (a trope about a character with a favorable portrayal being disliked by the fans) and Draco in Leather Pants (a trope about a character with, to interpret, an unfavorable portrayal being liked by the fans) at the same time? And how in the hell is Scourge, who's routinely beaten senseless by the end of the arc he appears in, a Villain Sue with all the indestructible antagonists running around the comic's multiverse?
The comics equivalent of PTSD. Hide / Show RepliesHe isn't really either, especially the Wesley — yes, he has detractors, but he's fairly popular in other circles, so at worst he'd be a Base Breaker. ISTM that the listings have nothing much at all to do with Scourge himself and everything to do with Ian Flynn, who provokes frothing-at-the-mouth fan outrage from some folk, who will then try to shoehorn in just about any trope that implies bad writing about his plots or characters, leading to a lot of Square Peg Round Troping.
Sega retconned the ages again. Should the mentions of the characters' old ages be replaced with "ambiguously (age group)?"
