openEarliest known instance of Invisible Anatomy?
The earliest I know of is probably the Curious Oysters from the 1951 Alice in Wonderland Disney film.
But I would also like to know the earliest instance of a shaggy dog with no visible legs wearing something on their, y’know, “invisible paws”, like this one of Dougal from The Magic Roundabout wearing boots despite having no visible legs (dated 1968): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186335520081?itmprp=cksum%3A1863355200816dab1c06308142e19ba16459201327f3%7Cenc%3AAQAJAAABcLSVkHmTL63bebovD9RfpraPWbY9f4anjbziTIaEIOVXg2DWhVLks3Lfqff9vxxfjIh4XEXusIehlT2iEH8%252BCxXNySMxlDIQJ3g86%252Bx3AAIAq9gznqdGSR72ksP41kjzPN1reUbVsJuld0S4i4qXlQfTmkMeIJTCXTM8mLpr7ju2fMvruDu87ZX%252B4bShOvD%252B4jEY06Ug5SGEFGmCYhuAEgRbr4UPW5xAIlQQLmZnhQt3XlOX%252FSaSLVeveQXVL0znyMW%252BJ6QpOoxh7evlHYQMKXyNXOPGgCSYn%252FtQAUundhKW5utUwyWJ5CF1OLteCus6dQvFcGW3oaDBt2%252FIIOUCXwMRuSQCmq%252BQgFurupr8koBa10DOs%252BTQqfVKJ8rsZzEUZXJholHO3OcD%252FFnzeHfrIQhEPrr61%252BTzjauEM4xHQ06WJ3bM9LPfkbWV%252Bw9RTRsUTrz7zRvdZ4KPqr5C1YyTs53o9pt20ZMTgvMICC72cDJ6%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A4429486&itmmeta=01HSPZC5WVY0NW69NH8MAN4XZG (the 5th image)
And this one where he wears horseshoes even though his paws aren’t shown (dated 1974): https://comicvine.gamespot.com/playhour-1033/4000-772707/
I apologize if this comes off as weird in any way, I just find it cute for some reason.

Xvrprkm unhid this Zero Context example on YMMV.Kickin It without adding anything to it or an edit reason:
- Crazy Is Cool: How to describe Bobby Wasabi? Ninja security, disco bathroom, sausage toss...
Am I good to re-hide it and send them a notifier?
Edited by BullmanopenEdit warring on the Voltes V Legacy YMMV page
I removed the Germans Love David Hasselhoff entry over there because apart from being messy and over cluttered like whoever put it there was trying way too hard to prove a point, I looked at the lists and it showed nothing but positive first impressions and the tropers who put it there making assumptions based on those. It's particularly egregious how they even listed individual comments/notes from random individuals and fansubs. I mean, fansubs can simply mean a show has a very small cult following or even just curious individuals who dubbed something for the heck of it. It doesn't prove anything, as far as I'm aware. Even more egregious is the fact that Voltes V Legacy is only seeing what appears to be a dub in Spanish speaking countries, and when I looked at it, it's not even an officially sanctioned dub, just the passion project of a certain few individuals who were fans of the original Voltes V anime and not necessarily the live-action show itself. There's no real evidence that the show became an audience favorite based on those lists.
I'm bringing the issue here because someone who contributed to that entry's list of info decided to readd the deleted entry after I removed it. I'll concede if the list is enough proof to list as GLDH, but I still would like to hear others' takes on what really counts as proof of a GLDH situation.

I was trying to create a new page, but I messed up the title somehow, and several words in it are smashed together. I’m not sure how to fix this.
Also it keeps splitting Mc Gonagall’s name into two and making it a red link. I’m not sure how to fix this.

Edited by wingedcatgirlopenPrideful Can Be Good?
I was looking at how the polar opposites of Chronic Self Deprecation and Inferiority Superiority Complex can progress, both positives and negatives. But both are simply regarded as a Vice without a word of resolution.
I know Pride can be positive for self worth improvement, like look at any Hero who is motivated by their friends, family, heritage or achievements. I just wanted a deeper look on the tropes surrounding those stories and how their character journies might be distinct from one another. How foils can meet in the middle or support one another. Or make things worse for each other.
openSomeone removed the content of the "Awesome" page of Voltes V, and replaced it with...this Anime
This is the page now, I can't make sense of what's going on. I edited this page months ago and it was normal, had clean grammar, readable examples and made sense. Now it looks like someone has deleted ALL that content and added a whole bunch of natter.
Is there a way to restore this page to it's clean, readable original version? (If you need a time frame, November 2023 - I remember checking out this page and it looked normal and up to standards).
openInappropriate Edits
A troper named Inferno Tenku 70 keeps making edits where he messes up pages and deletes prior content, and almost all of his edits have grammar issues. There is already a thread about him here. He also keeps shoehorning Voltes V in pages where it doesn't belong for some reason. Does this warrant a block from editing?
I am currently working on cleaning up the pages he messed up.
openSurprisingly Realistic Outcome and the law
Two of the most common things that no longer qualify for SRO are A) character reactions and B) instances of a character losing to a stronger/more skilled, experienced character. One thing I'm not sure about is cases where a character's actions have legal consequences, some examples of which I've seen toe the line between "legal consequences" and "character reaction(s)". So I've come to ask, are examples of SRO along the lines of "Character's actions have legal consequences" legit or misuse?
resolved Are documentaries Spoilers Off?
Over on the page for Quiet on Set, I made this edit, because from what I remember, there can be no spoilers above the trope examples line.
However, looking at the rest of the page, there seems to be a multitude of parts that are spoilered, and given that Quiet on Set is a documentary, I’d thought I’d ask:
Are Documentaries supposed to be Spoilers Off?
resolved Edits Not Showing Up When Logged Out Videogame
Recently, I made these edits to the WMG page for Home Safety Hotline. The changes show up when I'm logged in, but they are nowhere to be seen when I'm logged out.
I'm not sure what happened, but could it be because I didn't click on the "CONFIRM CHANGES" button in the source editor after I finished making my changes? I noticed that button last night and didn't think much of it at first. Sometime after I noticed my changes weren't showing up logged out, I read on the changelog that the button was added on the 15th of this month along with the visual editor.
So could that be the problem of why my changes aren't showing up without being logged on? I never really had this problem until now.

resolved Troping trivia and YMMV entries for a nonexistent subpage Videogame
I recently added a Laconic entry for the music album Pac Man Fever. I decided to check the trivia and YMMV pages out of curiosity, and found that people had added entries for the video game also called Pac Man Fever. However, clicking the VideoGame/ tab redirects me to the Pac-Man page instead, which means the VideoGame/ work page for it doesn't exist. Should I cut the Trivia and YMMV tropes, comment them out, or move them to Pac-Man's Trivia/ and YMMV/ namespaces?
resolved Self-recommended fanfic at GoW: Ragnarok, remove or hide?
Was cleaning up the FanficRecs.God Of War PS 4 and while checking through the history, Cisco The Soto had self-recommended their own fic in 2023. On the one hand, that's in violation of the "No Self-Recommendations" rule at Fan Fic Recommendations. At the same time, there's already a Trope page for the fic created by Darklightprince in 2024. Should I remove that entry, or hide it?
openWhat is the etiquette for adding laconic pages? Film
I’ve been around TV Tropes for a while and doing more serious editing and troping. I’ve thought about adding laconics to pages, but wanted to ask what you usually do in making them (I’ve already read through general tips on how to write one concisely).
Most importantly, how important should a work be to earn a laconics page?
Edited by CanuckMcDuck1openI have a bit of a problem with a tangent on an example
Danger Mouse:
- The series was very popular in America when it first aired in 1984 on Nickelodeonnote , and it became one of the earliest British cartoons (though not the first) to enter syndication in America, thanks to its quick-witted English humour appealing to both pre-teens and adults. Heck, some Americans believe that Danger Mouse may have helped start The Renaissance Age of Animation.
Now, you may, as I did that this is just conjecture. But it actually does have some proof. Nickelodeon got such got ratings with Danger Mouse that they did another cartoon with the same UK studio, Count Duckula... Which they disliked so much they decided to just cut to the chase and create their own cartoons. Which kickstarted the Nicktoons brand and started the Creator Driven era of animation.
Now including this additional info would make it TOO LONG but if it isnt added then its a ZCE, and a non sequitur.
openAlienating Premise or Hate Tingle?
Under AudienceAlienatingPremise.Anime And Manga, there are examples that have been contested as they were successful in their home country, but faired poorly/were not exported abroad. Are those Americans Hate Tingle instead if it didn't alienate in its home/target country?
AAP cleanup has argued both ways and has moved on, so I'm asking here.

Edited by Noura2008openSpoiler Video Examples
I have a question concerning video examples that are deemed full of spoilers. Let's say that a movie/game/episode/whatever recently came out on its release date, and I wanted to add a video example that usually shows its climax. Do I have to wait until a full month before I can add it, or should I add a (SPOILER!) in its title to make it clear that it contains spoilers?
Is there anything that would I would need to know or do if I were to open a thread for Quiet on Set? My big concerns are how depressing it would get or how quickly it would get closed.
