openPeach trees and flashbacks Anime
Ok, so there's this girl, I think she and her sister were adopted. A cop brings her home and says "MERRRR SHE WAS STEALING STUFF" and the mom was like "you steal from my peach orchard all the time...you thought i didn't notice?" then he runs off embarassed.
THEN its later in the flashback, the girl gets in a fight with her mom and she disowns her.
flash forward to present day her and her sister are grown up and one has trashed the other's house during a nervous breakdown, but the one who owns the house is very calmly like "i shouldn't leave you alone in my house."
What is this anime???
openLooking for a character... Print Comic
There’s a character I’m trying to find more information about. All I know is what he looks like.
He seems to be an adventurer type. He wears a red shirt, blue pants, and a bag he wears with the strap crossing his chest. He has blonde hair (I think) and his shirt has a white symbol in it that could be a T, a hammer, or both.
He reminds me a lot of Tom Strong, but I don’t think he is.
openSpace-Themed First Person Shooter for Kids Videogame
My friend is trying to remember the name of a space-themed first person shooter for kids. He remembers it having very cartoony 3D graphics. He also thinks it might have been an edutainment game with on-rails shooting and floating barrels, but he's not sure about that. He does remember aliens, lazers, and puzzles though.
openDinosaur 3D animated series - Possibly on Jetix Western Animation
I remember being at a friends house and watching the beginning of an episode. A Pterodactyl is seen flying and it goes through a laser beam or is zapped by a laser weapon or something and when it's hit I think its eyes change to red or something either way it was made clear that the beam turns it evil.
What was this show?!
not saying it's 100% Western perhaps it is anime but couldn't remember anything other than the 3D dinobird at the beginning of the ep.
resolved Fantasy YA Book With Contagious Turned-to-Stone Paralysis Literature
I'm trying to find the title of a fantasy YA book I read about a decade ago. The basic premise is this: a young teenager somehow gains the ability to travel to a magical alternate world and bring people and items back and forth. I remember three scenes from the book:
- The teenager meets and befriends a girl from the magical world and brings her back to their home in the mundane world, where they show her all the cool modern conveniences that the magical world doesn't have. The girl amuses herself by typing up magical incantations (either on a computer or with a typewriter) and comments on how it's the neater than any calligraphy she's ever seen, but she leaves a sheet with the spells sitting out on a desk.
- At another point in the book, the mundane teenager's mother is cursed/ magically turned to stone while outside in the garden of their family house, and any creature that touches the mother also turns to stone [eventually she's surrounded by a little pile of birds and insects that have landed on her, thinking she's a statue]. Later, an "evil corporate scientist" passes their house and notices a bumblebee that has turned to stone. She wonders if it's been exposed to a new type of pesticide, and collects it for testing. After examining the bee, the scientist returns and snoops around inside the house, only to find the typed out spells. She reads out the incantations and accidentally performs magic.
- Near the end of the book, the scientist uses the typed out spells to blackmail the teenage protagonist.
I'm pretty sure I read the book between 2004 and 2011, and that it was written at some point after 1990. I have no clue if it's part of a series or a standalone novel. Any clue as to what this might be?
openPost apocalyptic series about 4 teenagers in an abandoned city? Anime
There was this show I watched, back around 2013 or 2014. It was done like a motion comic, if I remember correctly, and the episodes were shorter than average. I watched it on Crunchyroll, but it’s not on there anymore I don’t think.
It was about a teenaged boy, two teenaged girls, and a younger girl. They were the only survivors of an apocalypse that wiped out the rest of humanity. These strange orbs of energy had made every other human being vanish sometime before the series picks up. There wasn’t a whole lot of conflict anymore though, just in flashbacks to the event. In the present, it’s largely about the four main characters just going about their lives. Stuff like growing crops, going swimming in a flooded city, and finding an old tank.
There was also a running subplot about the characters flashing back to earlier points in their lives, I believe? I’ve been trying to find this series for years now, but I can’t find any trace of it ever existing.
openSci-fi guy in the regular world Literature
The protagonist comes to our world from one of those utopian SF futures. Published within the last 5 years.
openComedian competition reality show? Live Action TV
My dad used to put weird reality shows on TV to take a nap to. This would have been between 1999 and 2013.
It was an elimination based reality show. I am pretty sure that the big prize was to become a famous comedian or actor.
I only remember one challenge, where the contestants had to dress up as clowns and entertain a group of children while also presenting an educational message. They had to be both funny and engaging to the kids. I remember one male contestant had a really funny costume involving a tutu and pom poms, and all the kids laughed when he came out, but when he tried to give the educational message (don't play with matches or fire) it fell short. He shook his pom-pom halfheartedly while all the kids just stared with boredom.
What show was this??
openplease name the movie Film
i only remember the scene on youtube. a teenage girl in a short skirt bends over in front of a boy and a woman at a public place.
Edited by iniuramopenA horror podcast Web Original
I found it on this site but cant find it again. It was about a huge bridge over the Pacific ocean and the broadcast coming from one of the outposts along the bridge, there was also a running gag about a Noodle Incident that happened at some kind of water park or oceanarium.
openiOS puzzle and city-building? Videogame
Trying to find a series of at least two games I once played, I'm pretty sure on iOS. It was a puzzle game where you upgraded a town by gathering resources via puzzle games. I think they were "draw a connecting line" type puzzles, and I remember that upgrading to get new types of resources was a big deal, both unlocking them, and then doing matches that would generate more. I think the second one might have had a more exploration-y bent and multiple towns, but the first one was just the one. There were various items you could research and manufacture to do things like clear "junk" tiles or harvest all of a specific resource or any number of things. I absolutely cannot remember their name, and checking my voluminous iOS purchase history has turned up nothing.
openkrazy kat comic Print Comic

openI Don’t Recall.. Live Action TV
This was from the early 2000s and was on a TV show (Possibly movie). The scene was taking place in a courtroom, and the girl is on the stand being interrogated. Her response to multiple questions is either "I don't recall" or "I do not recall." Regardless, she says it in a flat tone because she clearly doesn't give af.
Please help, Tropers. My best friend since first grade and I need to find this out because it comes up in literally every conversation.
openOld and strange cut-out animation (European/Soviet?) about pear orchard and boy-eating stranger
It was a cut-out animation (I think cut out, maybe abstract traditional), about an old childless couple who own a pear orchard. One day some magic happens and their house fills with magic little boys, but all run away except one, who they adopt. Meanwhile, there is a stranger/villain who wants to kidnap and eat the boy. The stranger is dark, broad, wears something like a trenchcoat and hat so only his eyes are showing. Whenever he appears opera-style music featuring a deep-voiced tenor plays, singing in a non-English language (Russian or Italian?). When the boy is working in the pear orchard, the stranger appears and asks the boy for a pear, but pulls the boy out of the tree when he passes him a pear and shoves him in a sack. He brings the boy home to his wife (a small spindly woman/thing) and orders her to cook the boy while he is out doing errands. The boy's magical brothers rescue him, and the stranger returns home to find the boy escaped and he beats his wife. The stranger returns to the pear orchard and captures the boy twice more in the same way. Each time the boy escapes and the stranger beats his wife. At the end, the boy tricks the wife into her boiling cauldron and climbs up the chimney. The stranger returns home, tries to follow the boy up the chimney, but falls in the boiling pot too. There was another short with similar animation on the same video, about a boy on a farm who wants to be a barber. At one point instead of milking a cow he gives the cow a haircut and shave on the cow's rear. The cow finally notices and is embarrassed. Saw these in the early 2000s in elementary school while learning folklore, but they are probably much older. Closely resemble 50s-80s Soviet animation, though I can't place them. Have been looking for years. Any slight chance someone recognizes?
Edited by CanTheKManDoItopenFour suit space men
A live action show about Blue suits, slick black hair, humans, who were always hyper active and aimed at kids audience if I recall correctly.
openShow with teen genius siblings Live Action TV
I'm trying to remember the name of a live-action show I saw on VHS a long time ago, back in fifth grade. It was about two teen genius siblings, a boy and a girl, who invent things in their clubhouse or garage and deal with life, school, and family (ostensibly). They also bickered and bantered a lot, as most TV sibling duos do. The surname of the siblings began with either a C or an H, if I recall correctly.
The one episode I saw began with a cold open in which their little brother sneaks into a junkyard to find a part for an invention the brother was making, only to be confronted by an angry guard dog. Then it cuts to the theme song sequence, which had the siblings messing around in a black void with neon-colored lines while an '80s pop tune plays.
That's all I remember of it. I THINK it was an educational show too, but I'm not too sure; seemed more like a standard sitcom skewed towards pre-teens. Judging from the quality of the video and the wardrobe of the cast, it looked like it could've been produced in the early '80s. Pretty sure the title of the series was something like The [insert name here] Twins, but Google isn't helping me there.
Any help in identifying this show is appreciated.
Edited by MrYoshbertopenuk/irish sitcom
Really need to figure out the name of the show. I remember the girl being suicidal meets a guy and they decide to be together without complicating things. Also has a chubby girl with a geeky but rich husband. She breaks up with him and freezes his sperm and then kind of blackmails him. In one episode they do a list of challenges together. The main girl is dark haired. Kind of irish/scottish accents. Show was in the 2010s. Please help
Hello fellow troopers I have a goody for you! I was homeschooled in the late 90s early 2000s and I would go to the library and rent educational tv shows. this is whatremember: a white male highschool student would have a teleporterin his night stand which would beep and teleport him to a space ship which he is the captain of. Then the spaceship would get caught by another “bad” spaceship in a gravity hold. In Star Trek fashion a bad alien humanoid show up on the big screen and would threaten to blow up the ship of the white kid UNLESS he answered 3 or 5 questions about a historical figure such as Ben Franklin etc. the space crew would then teleport the historical figure to the ship to learn about the person. The big bad alien would return and ask the three or four questions about the said historical figure. I remember one of the “bad” question askers to look kind of like a pinhead rip off. This has been bugging me for almost 20 years and I can’t find it. The show is not space cases or voyager. Good luck and thanks
