Evangeline... indolent... So if she's Sloth (I mean, she's almost certainly the most powerful and skilled mage in the Negimaverse, with her star pupil being a serious contender for eventually inheriting that status, yet she rarely if ever bothers to use more than a small portion of said power and skill), then who may represent the other Seven Deadly Sins in Negima? Negi in Berserk Magia Erebea form would be Wrath, though you could also argue for Tsukuyomi being a more proactively bloodthirsty kind of Wrath Embodied... and Dynamis seems to be a fit for Pride.

Negi would be more Greed than Wrath I think. Rakan I think may count as Gluttony. Tsukiyomi would be Lust. Envy...many 3A contenders here (Ayaka most likely). Fate would be Pride.

[up]Wrath is more of an embodiment of hatred and anger, Tsukiyomi never does anything out if hatred or anger, she does it out of pleasure.

Rakan demands 5 million drachmas in turn for a favor. He's more Greed than Gluttony.

Here's a description of Gluttony from The Other Wiki.

" gluttony can be interpreted as selfishness; essentially placing concern with one's own interests above the well-being or interests of others."

Though, Rakan isn't entirely selfish, he neatly fits the bill.

[up][up][up]Negi is or was motivated partially by revenge so he'd be Wrath. He just isn't materialistic enough to be greed.

I'm guessing Negi's (subconscious) quest for power is what Archivist is probably referring to...which is still wrath, since its for the sole porpoise of pounding the perpetrators face into the mud.

My assumption is that if the creator of the atifact had a particular person in mind, then they automatically get assigned that artifact (this is true in MSA. If the persona hadn't had an artifact designed specifically for them, then it's based on how the magister/tra sees the minister/stra)

Wrath is more of an embodiment of hatred and anger, Tsukiyomi never does anything out if hatred or anger, she does it out of pleasure.
Well, you have a point about Tsukuyomi being more about Lust, but I've seen Wrath being treated as encompassing cases where the character cares about nothing but causing and spreading violence and destruction for its own sake, without any sadism or other such lust-related motivation behind it, and not caring if there is actual hatred or anger behind the violence.

Fair enough point, but Tsukiyomi isn't spreading violence for its own sake, she's participating in violence because she likes it.

Wrath? Wrath is Kurt fucking Godel.

I'd peg Lust as being Tsukuyomi or Haruna, with Greed as being Haruna or Rakan.

The only character I can think of off-hand that struck me as particularly/overly prideful was Chigusa Amagasaki.

Nah, Haruna is definitely Greed. She's the one who expresses an ambition for World Domination and actually revels in the great wealth she achieves through becoming the first yaoi doujin artist in Mundus Magicus, after all. Heck, she might be like Fullmetal Alchemist's Greed in that she also wants more "immaterial" stuff such as an ultra-luxury life, a harem to indulge her carnal pleasures in when the fancy hits her, and all things that are all about extravagance and worldly desires in general.

Isn't her wanting that stuff fanon?

Haruna isn't that perverted in the manga, in the manga her schtick is that she's a selfish, occasional troll who's into manga. She doesn't show any perversion IIRC.

I stand corrected that Negi probably suit Wrath more, since the character who encompasses Greed most is Chamo.

I dunno... There seem to be hints in canon. I mean, she was the one who came up with tentacled Chamo-golems all on her own, wasn't she? To say nothing of other cases of Power Perversion Potential regarding her artifact, like the "Nugi-kun DK-1" incident, where everyone thought she was talking about the golem's... "equipment", when she was just boasting about his tongue... and she didn't seem surprised at all regarding their misconception, as if she had already predicted it. Or the times where she's the one who thinks up perverted ideas or twists on whatever it is that's happening in front her and the others (Asakura does it a few times, too); it's rare when someone else beats her to the punch, like when she discovered that Nodoka (subconsciously) desires a three-way relationship with Negi and Yue. And she gets a long well with Chamo. And she's too gleeful regarding getting her Pactio, not hesitating for a second to just up and kiss Negi on the mouth without a warning, then wondering if she should've gone for a deep, adult-style kiss when no Pactio comes out (and her face when she's about to truly get her pactio is Memetic Molester-grade).

And last, but not least, the first thing she does as punishment to her three closest friends when she finds out they hid the existence of magic from her was to draw out a short comic where she goes all BDSM-style dominatrix on their tender asses (literally).

Sure she's kinda perverted, but she's not Lustfull, she doesn't go out of her way to gain personal pleasure aside from entering a life of adventures.

Tsukiyomi and Chamo are more lustful than her.

Okay, so my personal list is:

Pride: Fate.

Sloth: Eva

Wrath: Negi

Greed: Chamo

Gluttony: Rakan

Lust: Tsukiyomi

Envy: Ayaka

[down]Godel isn't tht particularly wrathful, like...at all. At least in his adulthood.

  • Sloth: Eva
  • Greed: Haruna
  • Pride: Chigusa
  • Lust: Tsukuyomi

I didn't say she was Lustful. I just compared her to Greed from Fullmetal Alchemist, whose "greed" isn't limited to material wealth and power; he counts beautiful women, a luxurious lifestyle, and even loyal minions among his treasured "possessions". In that, the author seems to treat the sin of avarice as encompassing an older deadly sin known as "extravagance", i.e. the old meaning of luxuria, which is modernly treated as the Latin term for "Lust".

[up][up]Dude, Godel's backstory and motivations are the epitome of Wrath. The difference is that he's a Magnificent Bastard rockin' that Tranquil Fury and playing the long game instead of Berserking Unstoppable Rage.

Also, how the hell did you come up with Ayaka as being anything even close to envious? Friggin' Anya would be a better fit, since she tries to be posessive of Negi and has a hate-on for people with a more defined bust than hers.

Was doin research on 2814 Tamamo-No-Mae and found this. The mystery of the Headmaster's identity and why his head is like that is revealed!

A Nurarihyon snuck into Konoemon's office and drank his tea and decided to stick around. I now want to write that.

Hey, Marq, you ever read a Go Nagai oneshot manga called Iron Maiden Jun? I think you'd like it. The titular femme is one of those Amazonian Beauties you love so much.

Wrath: Anya.

Pride: Takane. I mean, I'm shocked no one thought of this one before.

Envy: Actually, Eiko from the Black Lillies is the first one to come to my mind.

Lust: Chamo. At least every other lustful character in the series only goes after their own species (or species close to theirs anyway).

Sloth: Rakan or Evangeline qualify, all things considered.

Gluttony: If I remember correctly, Motsu from the anime version would qualify. I think he had a few moments, at least.

Greed: Haruna.

UQ Holder Edition:

Pride: Yukihime. The core emotional conflict comes from her failing to admit she's ever taken any wrong decisions regarding Touta. However, this seems the most common character flaw in this series; Fate and Shinji are also major offenders.

Wrath: Nagumo. Classic example of someone who has allowed his fury and resentment take over his life.

Sloth: Jinbei.

Envy: Karin.

Lust: Chao the Rapist.

Gluttony: ... beats me. People don't even seem to eat that much in this manga. I hope the trait doesn't go to Dana because durr durrrr, she's fat, duhhhh...

Greed: Again, this series barely focuses on the pursuit for material posessions. Everyone is either already loaded and willing to spend away, or interested on nebulous goals not related to economical power.
