Beta Ray, that's the reason I, as a rule, avoid the KH fandom entirely.
I frequent a certain KH forum, and yeah, it can get pretty bad at times. Which is why I usually stay in the General Chat and Other Video Games sections.
Then again, we can't blame the fangirls... any less than we can blame the developers. Between Sora's excastic reaction to seeing Riku again and the whole scene before you go to The World that Never Was, Kingdom Hearts II quickly became one of the first games that I can safely say I'd be embarrassed to play in public. Those scenes defy the very definition of Ho Yay by being the most in-your-face "subtext" I've ever seen. Maybe not so much Sorax Riku but Axel's a flamer (pun intended) for Roxas.

I haven't played 356/ 2 or even interacted with any fan of it outside of this thread and I already feel sorry for how must the fangirls be treating her.

Between the hatred Kairi, Naminé and Xion get; I've concluded that Kingdom Hearts is subtly subliminally misgynistic and pretty hardcore about it.
The KH fandom has one of the largest concentrations of Het Is Ew I've ever seen. o.o;

I'm usually against throwing around the term "gay" to demean something but KH earned it. And I still like it. Just that I hate the other fans more than I like it.

Aqua certainly is a breath of fresh air for this series to be honest. The only other two playable female characters were dressed up in trenchcoats for God's sake, and from a distance they could pass as dudes.
Also I second that Zexion should have been female.
