Well, then again he and Chabal2 were both playing god-level creatures (there was a lot of that in the old thread). A nameless, faceless AFGNCAAP shouldn't provoke much outcry (though it maybe a bit underpowered).

Hallooo out there!

Bump with hypothetical question:

If I were to start my own Avatar Arena thread, with slightly stricter rules (one avatar in play at a time, stick with your playing avatar if possible, nobody over 2 on the Super Weight Scale, etc), how many think they'd probably join?

Show of ayes, nays, and/or opinions.

VCan't promise it will, but don't think it won't. I haven't heard from any of the regulars yet, so I'm reserving judgment.

If the topic would stay moving faster than this one has ended up, I'd give it a try.

Hallo! More opinions please! Come on, I thought we all liked this thread.

VThe title's a bit of a misnomer. It isn't anti-supernatural, or my apprentice wizard wouldn't have been allowed. The rules I mentioned above are pretty much the only rules this game runs on. I can't answer too many questions right now, though; college courses. I'll be back on later this afternoon.

^Anybody can join if they're gonna play by the rules (which are basically no Godmoding, play fair, ^^preferably don't play a whole fricking army at one time, and Level 2 or under).

As far as your current avatar, if you play as one Makuta, that should go pretty well. Even if it's Bitil. Having three or more people in play at once, each having different powers, would get really confusing really fast, and thus will be frowned upon.

I'm gonna wait until I have a good amount of aye's before I try to start it, though.

I'll aye Artemis, I tried my own, banning all non-manportable equipment, to avert air combat.

Are you going to ler in squads, or would I have to Plot Device out Shepard's squadmates?

^Well, using one person would be simplest, and work the best, so... Yeah, I'm gonna say I'm leaning in the direction of not letting anybody play as more than two people (and that's if they both fit into the same avatar).

Pretty much the whole concept is that contestants can look at each other's avatar and know exactly what their avatar is supposed to be going up against.

^Well, if you're playing as one of those, that would be fine. I don't know about a whole squad of them, though. How many of those are you planning on using, and what are they?

They should make it so that edits show up on watchlists. Just saying. Takes up less room than a whole 'nother post, but hardly anybody notices.

If you guys really want to be able to use armies/squads, we could make another thread for that. Like, I could start up "Avatar Arena(3.0): Singles", and somebody else could make "Avatar Arena(3.5): Groups."

^That isn't strictly speaking an avatar thread, but whatever works, I guess.

Might be for the best, actually, because now the people who just want to play soldiers have a thread they can do that in.

As for more casual people who just want to pit their wits and forum avatars against each other, aw hell with it, I'll get mine started up now and see who shows up.

I'd say all in all, it isn't going half bad. Bit slow, though. And I still haven't used Bun-Bun or Carr. Tip Tucker hardly got to do anything either, and I still haven't killed anything since that Double Knockout in the first thread, dangit.

Maybe I should start looking at RP's...

Hooray, I got my first kill as Bun-bun! Not only is that the first one  *

I've gotten since v1, the first time I used him Bun-bun didn't get to do shit. Now, in v3, he's actually got a small arms-dealing business set up with Recette to top it off.

With luck, when I'm done with him Carr will get to do some awesome stuff too.

In other news, the first Boss Fight went without a hitch. Got a tentative system I can use to schedule them, too, which should keep things fresh. Second boss is already decided, to boot.

Well, so much for Carr. Got no characterization to go on, seeing as all I've got to go on are a figurine and an army card. Been thinking though, and I might try to get some action in before the next bossfight.

I guess I can always say Vydar sent him to see about using Peaceful Gulch as a camp or summat or—

*hits head* Raw recruits! Of course! The generals are pulling fighters from everywhere the designers can think of; Carr is out to find more mercs!

[up]So I have somewhere to rant and reminisce, I guess. Commentary, of a sort. And partly so I can come back if I want to read some of it over again.

I wasn't really expecting anybody to notice, truth be told. Don't know if I should be posting here, actually, seeing as v2 has been dead for ages. I'll probably let this go once I move the Arena to Roleplay, since we'll have a discussion thread then. Not gonna happen 'till I change my profile, though. I've got plans.

Got more plans for here than I got for Real Life, come to think of it...

-_-

If, perchance, there're any mods reading this, would they mind locking this thread so I'm not tempted to keep necro'ing it? Thanks.
