Fire Emblem 8, Lagdou Ruins on Hard. People have a tendency to spawn behind my defenses with Killer weapons, then run up to someone squishy with a 60% crit chance.
Kessler from Infamous.
Using the Megawatt Storm on Kessler. Beating him as a bad Cole was too easy with Force Lightning.
Against all tyrants. The Dark/Devil Gundam from Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2. Even with my Burning Gundam completely maxed out and as powerful as I can make it, I still run the risk of being mercilessly owned by him. The hardest part off the fight is taking out the Dark Gundam Heads, which can attack you, while the Dark Gundam shoots all these lasers at you and usually hits you because you're focused on the Gundam Heads.
It's do-able, just really hard...

I have to say, Goro in Mortal Kombat 4. Only because I play on an emulator with infinite health cheats do I ever get past him. Harder than Shinnok that follows.
But there again, it's Goro, it has to be expected.
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.Uldred from Dragon Age Origins. It took me a few tries to beat him on hard mode. But since he is such an awesome boss and villain, I'll try a few dozen more times in Nightmare mode .
Help?.. please...One-Winged Angel Uryu in Mana Khemia 2. The choice is basically either "grind for ten more hours" or "pray to your feeble gods that Uryu doesn't use that stupid portal attack too often".

Ichirin and Unzan... I can never beat them....
GLUB!So I got Metal Slug Antology for the PC through COMPLETELY LEGAL MEANS. An now I have Stage 5 in Metal Slug 2 and X. The game basically becomes Bullet Hell here. But then those fucking trains just take it to a new level. Pro tip: save EVERY SINGLE grenade for the second. They WILL kill you if you do not, plain and simple.

A corpse should be left well enough alone...Fire Emblem: the Sacred Stones, Lagdou Ruins, Hard difficulty. Whoever said this game is too easy quite obviously never tried the postgame, because oh dear fuck this is even more brutal than Radiant Dawn.
I think my funniest death in there so far was Franz being attacked by three enemies. Killed the first one and broke his sword, and the bad guy dropped a Devil Axe. Broke his lance on the second one, and auto-equipped the Devil Axe. Attacked the third one with the Devil Axe and crit himself twice.

Are you sure you don't just mean Unzan? Ichirin herself isn't much of a threat.
also, in response to something on the previous page - I don't know HOW to do either on this site.
^ Hey, without Ichirin, the fight would be literally Unwinnable, so...
On topic, Vampire. So many bullets...
'twas brillig.Actually, yes it would. just time out all of the spellcards.
I've been trying to PERFECT! Transition in Bit Trip Beat for months. The end of the fifth section (with the alternating pattern of a bouncing beat and a cluster of 5 with a slightly larger width than the paddle) and the rotating poles of 8 beats in the seventh section are by far the worst. And then once I got past those, I flunked it by screwing up on an easy beat at the boss.
The hardest part of these no-miss runs is staying focused for 15 minutes.
Red in gen 2. I have just defeated him, but I needed some good magic and luck (THANK YOU DYNAMIC PUNCH AND CONFUSION). His Snorlax I got lucky that Hypnosis made him sleep for 5 turns.
I still think it counts as a That One Boss though, maybe moreso than in the remakes.
Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature.Ghetsis...just Ghetsis.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Lagdou Ruins on Hard done.
Now I have to do it two more times and most of my Killer/Brave weapons are broken...
I have been stuck at Necron for something like a year and a half.
I've decided I beat the game and watched the ending on Youtube, not caring anymore.
That reminds of when I was playing Final Fantasy IX the first time, which I'd worked so hard to avoid spoilers (since I usually end up getting spoiled on everything), but then I got stuck on the Nova Dragon (or whatever it's called, the boss fight before Memoria) because I was underleveled. I finally gave up and read the ending on a script on Game FA Qs and spoiled it for myself. I ended up beating the Nova Dragon after lots of grinding Grand Dragons outside Daguerreo.
The other thing it reminds me of is how I beat Necron. My team was Zidane, Vivi, Eiko, and Freya, and everyone but Freya was dead. Freya had the Restore HP ability equipped, which, from I guess makes enemy attacks heal you if you're really low on health. Seems a bit broken, but anyways, Necron kept using his attack that brings you to one health, then another that, instead of killing me, healed me back to full. Then I'd use Jump and avoid Grand Cross altogether. It was one of my more satisfying victories.
Sorry for getting so off topic...

Welcome to th:|is that an unintentional single character battle I see there?
It's been over two months since I've attempted it, but I'm pretty sure I got stuck in an unwinnable situation in the NES version of Final Fantasy III at Castle Hyne, which pretty much amounts to me not having enough magic casts to effectively win the Hyne fight and I think it's pretty much impossible for me to restore my magic unless there's an exit and/or healing spring that I don't know about.
I decided at that point that the NES version of FFIII had officially kicked my ass and put it aside. Dunno if I'll ever go back to it.
Oh, and to go back a year or so, I guess I'm still stuck in the Dreadnought in the Dawn of Souls version of Final Fantasy II. I think my problem was that I kept getting poisoned and never had enough antidotes. I keep telling myself that I should get back to FFII, but the growth system makes me want to bang my head against a wall, so I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
someday we will foresee obstaclesKetsui: Stage 1-2.
My best run is at 1-3, for the record. 1-1 is good, but Stage 1-2? HUUUGE Difficulty Spike!

Shutdown sequence initiated. The last level (Revenge ending) of Grand Theft Auto IV. Why does it have to include the two worst parts of the game (motorcycles and helicopters) with a 10 minute setback if you fail? I can barely drive those things without a time limit.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. There is this one annoying dungeon place thingy in Eternal Sonata, but i'm too lazy to describe how boring it is.
Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.My most recent one was Elesa. FUCKING EMOLGA
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remake
