I think later I can take a shot at cleaning up Brain Bleach so it's objective. Doesn't look too hard.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)They were listed on the Fan Speak index, so it is very likely that they caught it there. (but not sure)
That makes sense. A lot of the Fanspeak stuff got autobannered when it shouldn't have.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"What about Flanderization ? I could see it go either way, but it is not listed on any banner-index, so likely it was also only listed for a short edit war, and got finally removed.

Hmm. I'm not sure about that one, it's certainly capable of being argued about, and it seems in practice to be more of an audience reaction to characterization than anything intentional in the work, but sometimes it is intentional by the writers. Ouch.
I'll take the banner off since it's not clear that it was originally intended to have one and it's not on one of the suspect indexes.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Let me reemphasize that this thread is not a means to bypass actual debate over the definition/subjectivity of a trope, nor is edit warring it onto/off of the pertinent indexes acceptable behavior.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Shown Their Work doesn't seem like it should be YMMV. Trivia maybe, but not YMMV.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.Took it off. Is it in the Trivia discussion?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"No, because it doesn't fit Trivia. It's something that happens in media.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickTake That, Scrappy! needs a banner because it requires The Scrappy to exist.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Colbert Bump looks like an Audience Reaction to me. It also has many non-Talk Show examples. Either those need to go or that part of the description should be changed.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.Got that one. Really? "Gets a popularity boost after appearing on a Talk Show" isn't objective? Smells like a TRS topic to me. Or maybe put it in Trivia.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I didn't say it wasn't objective, but a works popularity is a distinctly non-trope territory. I'll try running it in the trivia thread.

Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.More Popular Spin-Off: Sounds like it should be Audience Reaction because it invokes the word "popular" but this is verifiable - either it was or it wasn't. Might be Trivia though. Opinions?
Shared Universe needs de-bannering.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.More Popular Spin-Off: Popularity is not a trope, as we define it. It's either audience reaction or Trivia, definitely. It already has a banner, though.
Shared Universe: Banner removed.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Needs a banner: Small Name, Big Ego
Does that mean we have to move all examples to that page?

Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist. There should not be any SNBE examples period. Any that exist should be deleted. By the related to list, apparently we failed at this rather badly.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So, we're only keeping it alive for the inbounds basically?
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.Correct. And to define a fanspeak term. But it was concluded a while back that people were simply using SNBE for Complaining About Authors You Don't Like.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm sure there are in-work examples of SNBE charcters. Does the Flame Bait tag mean no in-work examples either? If so a split may be needed, or the trope changed to exclude RL examples.
I guess you could still use In-Universe examples, just like with So Bad Its Horrible.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Crown Description:
YMMV is for items that are reactions of the audience to works and tropes that need a significant judgment call to tell whether they exist objectively or not. Should these items become members of YMMV? Note: Audience Reactions need to be subjective, emotional responses and things that are likely to cause arguments and disagreements. Merely being outside a work or inside an audience don't make things YMMV
Did we have a debate on those or were they caught up in the YMMV indexing craze?
